'Buuzzzzzz'
Iola yet again was alone. The cub was now getting desperate for companionship. Dead grass crunched underneath her paws, she didnt know what to do, where to go. This needed to stop, the loneliness... 'Buuuzzzzzz' The sun was now just overhead, once warming her pelt, but now became incredibly uncomfortable. She felt hot, stickly. And the annoying fly wasn't helping in the situation. It's been keeping her company since breakfast, she remembered meeting it early in the morning when she was scrapping what was left of the meat on a died gazelle. Since then was whispering continuously in her ear of gossip in the savanna. Swatting aggressively at a annoying fly buzzing in her ear, Iola decided to take out her frustration on the bug. She was now chasing the pest, raking her claws threw the humid air. She didnt know why she was so angry today, why she was so angry with the fly. But she found herself chasing down her 'prey' until it finally flew higher in the air until it was completely out of reach. Iola huffed childishly, her tail flicked back and forth in agitation. She watched as the fly buzzed off, watching it grow small and smaller in the distance before it was gone completely. The cub's ears lowered, and she sighed. The fly wasn't gone a minute and she already missed its annoying presents near her ear. She stood there, not sure what to do now. She looked back in the direction of where the fly darted off longingly. Maybe she should go and say sorry?

Kimia was curled against a large body. Her mother's, in fact. She had not moved for quite a while and Kimia wasn't sure what to do. He momma wouldn't wake up. She mewed softly as she uncurled, stretching. She didn't know it was very dangerous to stay close to leave her mother's side... but she didn't know what else to do, her mother wouldn't wake up!

"Momma.." She said softly, walking toward denge's face and gently prodding at her nose with a paw. "Please wake up.." She whispered. She knew something was wrong, but she had no way of knowing what.

She did not hear Iola, though the other cub was close by.

"What was that!?" Iola whispered to herself, though it was still easily heard to anyone near by. The cub still hadn't grasped the concept of stealth. Her navy eyes, darting this-way and that, looking for the source of the noise. The cub's ears now pressed forward, turning in all directions waiting...listening for the sound again. Iola was just asking for a panic attack. "Please wake up..." The sound was softer than a whisper but still managed to get the girl off the ground and into the air within the second. Iola landed with an "oomph", just a few feet away from the carcass and cub. She stayed in that position for awhile, her body curved into a C, with her rump high in the air, her head supporting all of her weight, and to make matters worse the tuff of her tail manged to fall directly ontop of her noise. Making it extremely difficult to pretend 'dead' if your trying not to sneeze. She wrinkled her nose, wiggled it too. Just to get the darned thing off, but it wouldn't budge. And without fail she felt something in her nose, and then the slow...annoyingly long process of a sneeze. "Ahhhh.....ahhhhhhh.....AHHHHHH-CHOOOO!" Her body fell from the sudden shock, so she was now laying on her back, her nose still twitching. Iola throughout all of this kept her eyes closed. In fear of what she might see if she opened them.

Kimia's body seemed to jump slightly and her eyes widened. Her head jerked toward the source of noise and her mouth was opened as if to scream, but she did not make such a loud noise. She had learned to be quiet, it was something Denge had taught her. That was only a few days ago... and now... and now she wouldn't wake up! Why was she so tired?

She creeped toward the light colored lump with her body shaking hard. Her eyes were still shocked wide and her expression was still a little dumbfounded. When she realized it was another her, another cub, she felt relieved. "Hi.." She said, her voice still soft.

The cub peaked an eye open, to see the up side down form of another. She was a light grey and wasn't very intimidating from her size, seeing as she wasn't much bigger than Iola, herself. Iola heaved a sigh, and rolled to her feet, to get a better look at the cub before her. "Hello." She cooed, enclosing the distance between them. "Who are you?" Her navy eyes sparkled with enthusiasm as she wiggled the toes of her paws in a giddy fashion. Iola's gaze drifted momentaraly over the cub's shoulder to the large mass behind her. "Whats that?" She asked motioning with her paw towards the sprawled form of the adult lioness baking in the mid-day sun.

Kimia almost shied away but she managed to stand in one spot. "I'm Kimia.." She breathed, offering a tiny smile. "And you?"

But she frowned at the other female's quetion. "That's not a what!" She said in a rush, her voice raising to a normal level. And then she looked embaressed and quite upset. "That's my mummy and she won't wake up.." She stared down at her paws.

"Iola." She responded, tilting her chin upwards in a regal fashion. The cub took great pride in the name. Though she never knew how she got it; it more or less stuck to her. Iola was sucked from her self admiration when she noticed a temperament in the cub's voice. So...she isn't a mouse after all.... Iola grinned, "Wont wake up you say? Weird..." Iola sniffed at the air and noticed a familiar scent drifting in it. But the cub couldn't quite put her paw on it. She shouldered past Kimia and padded her way up to the deceased mother. Iola looked the older adult over. She knew what death was...but only knew it as a body ripped to shreds and waiting for her to eat. She met a mother awhile back who too was laying in that same position, so of course she didnt give it much thought. Surely all mothers did that after giving birth, it sure did look like tiring work. "Weeelllll...." She paused, poking lightly at the stomach of the lioness. "How long did you say shes been sleepin'?" Her voice distant, seeming to be to preoccupied with prodding the female.

Kimia frowned and almost told Iola to get away from her mommy, she didn't want a stranger going near her! "Um.. well.." She blinked and frowned. How long had she been sleeping? "About two whole days now.." She said, sounding unsure. It wasn't normal for someone to sleep two days, was it?

That was strange. But Iola wasn't the sort to sit around and figure things out...she had her own plans. Kimia was looking like a great play thing at the moment, and she wasn't about to pass up a perfect opportunity at some fun. "Well then," She said turning to face the other, "she wont notice if you left to play with me for awhile." A smirk crept on her maw. She then lowered herself into a pouncing position, swaying her rump side to side.

Kimia blinked and frowned, glancing to her mother with a worried expression. It'd been her and her mother, only. That was how it had been for the last few weeks... But then her mother got sleepy! Too sleepy, if you asked her. And play did look promising. "Well.."

She whined slightly and then also bowed, copying the other's actions. Yes, that did look like fun. "Okay!"

Iola was somewhat shocked and pleased she didnt need to convince her to come alone. "Ok, c'mon. Let's go!" Iola sprung forward, landing but afew feet away from Kimia. "Wanna play catch?" She purred, "I'll be the catcher...you be the prey!" She pointed to herself when she said 'catcher' and when she told Kimia she was to be 'prey', she poked the cub lightly on the side. "You go on. Go ahead, when I'm done counting I'll roar and go to catch you!" Iola pushed lightly with her paw on Kimia, to get a move on. "I'll ....ahhh...count to sleven. Ok?" Iola was being strangely gentle with the girl, last time she was with a cub she was a whole lot more demanding. She most likely learned not to be so rough with others.

Kimia opened her mouth to protest, no she did not want to be prey and she didn't even know what this game was, but Iola seemed to automatically think she'd say yes. So she stayed quiet and accepted the face that she would be prey for a while. And then she finally put 'catcher and prey' together and realized what kind of game this was going to be. Like... actually she had no clue what she was supposed to do. Curse not having anyone to play games with her before Iola showed up.

"Er... how do you play it?" she asked, sounding a little embaressed.

Iola stared at the cub silently for a moment, with a blank look. Are you kidding me?She thought rising a brow; ears pressed back against her skull with her lips pressed into a thin line. Her mouth twitched only once, trying desperately not to say something she'd regret. "You...dont understand...?" She asked choosing her words carefully. "It's easy...you just run off and hide. And I count to sleven, then I go to find you. Easy! Get it?" Iola forced a friendly smile into her maw. She motioned with her paw towards the cub dismissively. "Now go on...go." And quickly turned her back to the other, she lowered her head onto the floor and held her paws over her eyes. "One...three...."

A hiding game? That sounded easy enough. Her ears flattened when Iola so easily dismissed her and she frowned slightly. But then the other started to count and Kimia's eyes widened. She looked around quick and almost whined out loud. Where was she supposed to hide! Ah! A rock! She hurried toward it, she didn't know how to count so she thought seven could be coming any second now.

"...fives....four-ten....two...." Iola paused for a long moment. She knew a number came next before sleven, but she couldn't remember which. She deiced she'd repeat which ever number would make most sense next. "One....sleven!" Iola rose her head, her eyes wandering over the intermediate area. A light smile formed on her muzzle, as she jolted up onto her feet. Rising a paw she coffed into it, clearing her throat. She took in a deep gulp of air and brought back her lips letting out her best attempt of a 'roar' that she could offer up. "Rrrrrrraaaaahhhh!" But her malicious scream that she'd planned out in her head came out no more than a burp. Now normally, out in the wild if she decided to do that near the presents of an animal of prey, she knew they'd of course run off. She'd tried to play 'Catcher and prey' with a oxen once...never again. Iola's eyes narrowed, she sunk to the ground and inched about little by little trying her best not to make a sound. The cub sniffed at the ground where Kimia had just stood over and then rose her nose and took a drag at the air.
