The lioness lay on her side, panting slightly. Ah, the ordeal of giving birth to new life. Surprisingly dirty, Nelu mused, considering the holy status it had be given. Though this lioness was never afraid to get dirty, and a look now at her grim covered coat shows it. Bits and pieces of dirt had embedded themselves within Nelu's black outer coat, and the dust and all but just settled themselves back down to earth. Nelu was tired, so tired that she could just fall asleep right on the spot, in the smaller than average den she now lay.
I'll have to find a bigger den soon, the fleeting thought passed through her head. No matter. That would have to come later.
Besides her curved body lay two little bundles of wet fur. The little ones, just moments ago arriving on this earth. A wry smile appeared upon the lioness' maw as she gazed down upon them, wondering what life will bring for them, and for her, in the future.

ooc who is first born, anyway? x) and i'm aware that lion cubs don't open their eyes this fast but... for the purpouses of RP could her eyes open in the next post? Oh, and I'm assuming you'll be having Nelu name them in a future post, so for now she's just an unnamed lioness cub. :3
Stretching her new legs out and around her, the newborn let out a little yelp. She was hungry and cold, in need of both Nelu's milk and warmth. Squriming as only a cub could, she flopped closer to suckle, laying her tail gentley on her brother. The bond between siblings and mother was strong, and this little family was no different. In the cramped little birthing den, the sweet picture of love had been painted. A young mother and her children, sharing their first moments together in peace. For now, nothing could bother them in thier sweet bliss.
Greedily, the little girl suckled. Strength and warmth swept through her body like a soft wind, filling her with life and personality. She gave another little cry, kneeding her mother's belly with her chubby little paws. And so goes her first moments of life.
