-The term originates from the Latin sacer (sacred) and legere (to steal) as in Roman times it referred to the plundering of temples and graves. Also the violation or injurious treatment of a sacred object. In a less proper sense, any transgression against the virtue of religion would be a sacrilege. It can come in the form of irreverence to sacred persons, places, and things. When the sacrilegious offense is verbal, it is called blasphemy.
P R O P H E C Y
-In a broad sense, is the prediction of future events or the speaking of divine revelations through chosen human messengers. It is a general term for assertions presented as the revelation of divine will.
e m o t i o n
A P A T H Y
-Is the lack of emotion, motivation, or enthusiasm. Apathy is a psychological term for a state of indifference — where an individual is unresponsive or indifferent to aspects of emotional, social, or physical life. Apathy can be object-specific — toward a person, activity or environment. It is a common reaction to stress where it manifests as learned helplessness and is commonly associated with depression. It can also reflect a non-pathological lack of interest in things one does not consider important.
-There are some cases of apathic persons which are clinically diagnosed with a personality disorder. These persons tend to suffer from one or more personlities that lesson "unpleasant" or "unwanted" events in their life.

S L O T H (Latin; Acedia)
-Sloth is the desire for ease, even at the expense of doing the known will of God. Whatever we do in life requires effort. Everything we do is to be a means of salvation. The slothful person is unwilling to do what God wants because of the effort it takes to do it. Sloth becomes a sin when it slows down and even brings to a halt the energy we must expend in using the means to salvation.

n a m e ... Ennui
m e a n i n g .... A sense of apathy and lassitude brought about by either societal or personal stagnation; boredom/annoyance.
a p p e a r a n c e .... Prophetic priest; seen wearing robes of a priest or saintly figure. Patches of sacrilegious crosses adorn his shoulders and are designed into his garb in very subtle ways. He wears rich browns, mahogany and golds, a cream white with hints of lilac throughout. Upon his back is a single angelic wing merged with clockwork pieces. Adorning his head is a tilted halo that seems to be halfway to falling off his head; possibly indicating his not so holy other half. He wears a deep brown turtle neck underneath his robes more for his lack of physical (skin) contact with others. His spine subtly peeks out from his back, showing off his rather flexable, lithe and tall appearance. In terms of height he stands at 6 feet 5 inches and weighs in at about 150 pounds. He cannot fly but oftentimes looks as if he is merely glidding on air. His vision, is hindered through over exposure of light (dim or bright), he only removes his blindfolds at night or in dark dwellings. Though the cloth does not hinder his vision, it is made of a thin fabric allowing him to see without the glare of light.
{+} t r a i t s .... He is generally polite and gentle towards others helping out despite his dislike of humans.
{-} t r a i t s .... The fact that he allows himself to "retreat" when things are uncomfortable tends to backfire as Seidus isn't so forgiving.

p e r s o n a l i t y .... Ennui is known for his routine schedules, daily he is often found in the same place, at the same time with little to no hope for change. This being said he does not taking kindly to change and is more than a little apposed to being uprooted from "familiar" places, persons and things. He is timid originally, opting to remain away from large crowds or curious persons. His personal life is his own and he is not open to being chatty about it (not one for talking to begin with) he is rather reserved keeping to himself if he can help it. When he does manage a conversation he is rather eloquent in his choice words and shows a world of knowledge on particular subject matter. Even when in the presences of others he remains forever on alert both physical and mentally as he is quite "private". Should he encounter anything in his life that is unpleasant he is known to hide within himself allowing his darker ego; Seidus to emerge and take over. Usually when he returns to himself he has no observation as to what may have transpired. Despite his kindness he can be quite catty at times but would rather avoid conflicts if he can help it.

n a m e ... Seidus (pronouced: Sadist)
m e a n i n g .... One who derives satisfaction from the suffering of another person.
a p p e a r a n c e .... As far as his garb Seidus wears whatever Ennui deems for the day. It is only because of his escapades that his garments may be torn, tattered, and splattered with blood. While his clothing does not change; his outward appearance tends to shift. He has clawed finger nails brittled from tearing through flesh and bone. His hair falls around his face some of it obscuring his eyes but not his vision which shows blood red orbs glowing from underneath; the cloth covering one eye. His wings are the same though torn leaving a few feathers on its frame. He has vampiric fangs that peek out from his mouth and a rather sinsiter grin on his face that never seems to go away and is always warning of things to come.
{+} t r a i t s .... In times of dire pain or stress, Seidus takes over the vessel, allowing Ennui time to recoperate. This shows a kinder side that is often missed by others due to his unwillingness to appear weak.
{-} t r a i t s .... Once he has taken form, Seidus will stop at nothing to satisfy his own personal desires, even at the cost of hurting his counterpart.

p e r s o n a l i t y .... Seidus is gifted at methodically serving his own interests at the expense of anyone else, including those close to him (ie. Ennui). He has no compunctions against emotionally wrecking, manipulating, tormenting, impoverish or setting up others in life-threatening situations for either money, amusement or petty pride, even if he owes them his life several times over. He has been known to be observant, curious, resourceful and cool under pressure but also sadistic, petty, sarcastic, manipulative, irresponsible, want to foist his blame onto others, nearly barren of conscience or compassion and completely amoral, and childish.
** It is best to understand that Seidus is NOT the dominant personality and can only come forward at Ennui's complete distress or confussion.

-Ennui's blood is laced with acidic toxins that can be extracted through his pours. On some occasions he can extract the acid in the form of a gaseous poison. Through skin contact the acid can corrode, rot or deteriorate most objects or living organisms. He is immune to foreign toxins introduced into his body. He is able to smell chemical abnormalities in the air, as well as taste them in tampered food or drinks; though they have no life threatening effect on his health. This ability is given the designation sacrilege.
-Seidus has access to this ability but prefers a more hands on method of tending to his victims; though he does use it to corrode locks or other obstacles that hinder his progress.
u n c o n t r o l l e d
-On a short term basis, when exposed to Ennui, individuals will suffer mild cases of depression (or stress) which is characterized by a temporary decrease in mood or suffering "the blues." Prolonged exposure; begets learned helplessness; a psychological condition which a person comes to believe that they have no control over a situation and that any actions taken are futile. As a result they remain passive in damaging situations or relationships. Over time, individuals will continue to spiral into a hopeless abyss of despair, leading to their death through suicide, unforeseen accidents or heart failure.
-Seidus only seems to heighten these symptoms. Like Ennui, he has no direct control.
