All you have to do is demonstrate paranormal or supernatural ability in a controlled scientific experiment and you win a million dollars. A lot of you have probably heard about this but probably never knew if it was legitimate or what the contact info was.

I heard about this on psipog, the prize is payed in bonds. Technically, it's a million dollars worth of bonds, but the bonds are junk. I don't know much about this stuff, but you don't get one million dollars total, it's more like a couple thousand if I remember correctly. Surely, not a number to be scoffed at, but still not what was promised.

Surely, not a number to be scoffed at, but still not what was promised. They give you a check for $10,000 after you pass the test. Within a week they transfer to you bonds that can be immediately liquidated if I remember right. They answer the questions about the million on the FAQ page. Either way, you'd think someone would do it, even if the prize money was ten grand.

I wouldn't do it.
And for the safety of yourself and others like you, it'd be pretty selfish to go and do this. Especially for a large sum of cash.

I have a huge doubt that this guy would ACTUALLY pay up if the challenge were beaten. >>

Well then he'd be sued.
Of course, you'd have to ensure he had something in writing. And you'd probably have to be able to recreate what you did in court.

Well of course it's selfish unless you're giving the money away to charity. Not something I would do, by the way. So yes, if I were to participate in the challenge it would be for solely selfish reasons. I've said it before in various places: I don't play mother hen to the entire community and shouldn't be expected to. If I had the ability to win that prize, why would I choose not to set myself and my family at financial ease just because a few people might not like it? A million dollars can buy a lot of security systems and armed guards.

I get the feeling that winning that prize might send you down a long chain of events that you do not have to want to deal with, such as constant harassment by people want further experimentation and/or being pestered by media.

I don't believe in those "challanges". Best case senerio? You just showed you have enough psi-manip to bend spoons, showed you have a good control of bioconisis and helped a plant grow a bit when it was small and shriviled, and concentrated enough ki and aura around you that you seem to have a mysterious yet beautiful glow around you. Judges watch the tape and declare it edited, debunk the pictures as "photoshoped", and in person you'd be called "one hell of an illusionist". People WANT to believe in paranormal things. Most are closed minded and fall under the "I want to see/touch to beleive it", and when they DO experience/witness it, they say "I don't know what to believe, I only believe what I see", only to state that they only believe what they see and don't beleive it when they do anyways.... ....pathetic... And then let's look how you look... You'd be no better then those other popularaty whored people (Sylvia Brown, John Edward etc.). You wanna do something with what you can do/see, then by all mean go ahead. But to push past the line of bragging rights and into fame and money, and you're no better then them. Even if I could do something spectacular which may earn me money like that, I'd rather perform in a show and tell to teach a few friends things. That'd be it really

They'll never acknowledge it as anything more than "unknown source".
