Damn those little brats and bless whatever for that two legger that they needed him to get food and he could distract them. Those little things had no idea what they were and were becomming a bane on her existence. She needed a distraction, maybe a dark blue distraction.

Wait .. what?! Shaking her head she pretended she didn't just think that. He wasn't a distraction, he was an annoyance. A rather attractive annoyance but an annoyance. He was probably gallivanting around having fun while she was stuck ducking foals and being bored.

Trotting into the shallows of the river she looked down at the water swirling around her hooves.

All in all, it was truly a suprise that Rogue hadn't taken notice to the fact that his scent was around the camp that she made roost nearby. He had been there off and on to check on his two-legger as some of the nights became warmer... Of course, there had also been other things on his mind.

He was a father now, to a certain extent. Three baskets now lay nestled beneath a covering of dried leaves and long grasses that had been dragged in from the plains. The lean-to that his pretty lady had helped create was shielding them from the elements and, of course, there was the fact that one parent was always keeping watchful guard over them. He supposed that there might be more responsibility involved when they emerged from the baskets... But how hard was it really when they were going to be raised to live just as wildly as their parents?

Leaving Kitara to watch their 'nest' he had wandered into the forest, pausing once he found himself by the river. The waters were cool as the snow on the bank melted... Too cool to drink quickly, but a perfect reminder of the excitement that life could bring if sipped slowly. He tilted his head down, touching his nose to the waters. Life... Was good.

Her hooves splashed in the water as she trotted though the river. She liked the chill against her legs since it keep her mind away from things that she shouldn't have been thinking about. She picked her nose up as she noticed something dark on the riverbank.

So she didn't have to think about that something. Snorting she decided she could just walk past him and maybe he wouldn't notice. What did she have to worry about? She didn't want his attention so it wouldn't matter if he paid her mind or not.

It took a moment for the sounds of splashing to sink in... A sound that shouldn't have been there in his silence. Of course, he didn't mind. A distraction was always a fine thing unless said distraction was either wearing a dress or covered in enough sparkles to blind any Soquili with half-decent eye sight.

It took him a moment to reconize said distraction though... Perhaps a moment longer than it would have had he not recently found himself the proud papa of three beautiful baskets. Once it sank into his mind it caused him to blink once or twice to confirm that it was, indeed, his other chere; the one that seemed unwilling to admit that she just might want him around.

He snorted softly, warm breath coming out in the form of two tiny clouds as he tossed his head back, letting fiery mane ripple behind him. He found himself wondering if she was going to try and play that game again...

Of course she was playing that game again. She was going to play the 'i don't see you' game as long as she could. As long as he was going to play the game that he knew she wanted his attention she could keep pretending she didnt.

Her tail swished in the water as she moved and thought about things. She supposed that since the two-legger was busy with the other two-legger and those little annoyances she could get more time to herself. It would mean a shortness of apples but she'd found a tree of them and that was good enough.

She didn't have to worry about any little foals since he was taking care of them and she had no plans for any of her own. Stallions were too much trouble. She didn't really have anything to compare it too but Remy was trouble and of course he only wanted her because he couldn't have her.

Fiery eyes watched her as she neared him and continued to watch her even as she passed him. Could he really do that? Just let her walk past him without saying anything? He searched himself for the answer...

... And quickly realized that it was 'no'.

"S'nice of you ta say 'allo, chere. Didn't think Ah that easy ta miss standin' anywhere, let alone at night when Ah stand out like a sore thumb. Your eyesight jus' bad or you tryin' ta ignore me?"

She stopped after a moment when he spoke to her. Damn her plans for not working and for him spotting her. Hadn't he found some other mare to follow after yet?

Turning around she looked at him. "Hello Remy" No she wasn't going to admit that she'd actually been hoping that he'd speak to her. She wasn't going to admit that at all. "Nice to see you"

Damn, she'd meant that to come out different. Why couldn't she just tell him to shove off?

He snorted once more, eyes narrowing slightly as he remained standing on the shore. "Now, now, chere... Some reason, I don't believe you mean that." He couldn't remain cross for long though... For some reason light began to dance through the darkness of his gaze. "Who you runnin' from tonight, chere?"

"Who said i was running from anyone?" She snorted as she kicked at the water slightly. "I was just getting away from the annoying little foals that the two-legger has addopted."

She was tired of that little black one trying to n** at her tail. "Not so much running as a strategic retreat"

"You always get this defensive, chere?" He tilted his head to look at her, tail swishing back and forth against his hindquarters. "Ah ask you a question an' you act like no one ever ask you a question b'fore. Ah jus' tryin' ta be nice..." For once, he was simply trying to be nice to a mare without any sort of ulterior motives... And this was the way he was getting treated.

"Think you'd be used to it now." There was less bit to her words than normal. She had always been hard on him even if she didn't really have proof that he was the playboy stallion she called him.

Shaking her head she sighed. "The foals are brats who do not understand what they are .... i'm a little on edge." She shouldn't have to explain herself but there she was.

"Sounds like you jus' need to relax, chere... Or get out an' do somethin' you ain't never done before." He nodded slowly as he pawed at the riverbank. "Ah got a bit o' time left 'fore ah should be checkin' in wit' mah two legged lady to make sure everythin' alright now she livin' so close to that other one... What say you an' me go run somewhere?"

"I run all the time, how is that different than normal?" She walked out of the river and shook her legs off. Her tail would take a bit of time to dry.

"It diff'rent 'cause you ain't never run with me before, chere." He tossed his head before rearing up, batting his hooves against the cool air before bolting into the forest. She'd either follow after him or she'd stay there and, eventually, find herself wishing that she hadn't.

She sighed and followed him after a minuet. It was curiosity, yes that was it. It had nothing to do with the fact that she actually wanted to follow him, no not at all.

It wasn't hard for her to catch up to him even though he was fast. Her tail whipped around behind her drying quickly in the wind.
