Upon waking, these three Legend girls find themselves in a dimly lit, grimy room, barely large enough to accomodate them. A single lightbulb hangs above them, the walls are full of tiny holes that look suspiciously just large enough to peep through, and they are clustered around a deep hole cut in the floor.

Upon closer inspection, the hole seems to have a ladder suspended against one side, a rather rickety looking thing, but seemingly strong enough to hold weight.

What will Aquene, Paestri and Jenivive do?

The last thing Paestri recalled was going to bed in Aunt Matisha's house and telling Malady that they'll get to know Naeva tomorrow. So imagine her surprise when she discovered upon waking that she wasn't where she fell asleep. She scans her surroundings, noting the cleanliness -or lack thereof- of the room.

Did Aunt Matisha change the guest room? She blinked, before noticing Aquene and Jenivive were present as well. And it was at this moment that she realized Malady wasn't with her. She stands suddenly, her legs shaking at the abrupt change in posture.

"MALADY!!!!" the pink-haired girl yells with what can only be described as panic-stricken fear. Was it odd that it stemmed more from the fact that it was because her Intangible wasn't around rather than the fact she and two others have been brought elsewhere without their consent?

When Aquene woke she first thought that maybe she had drempt climbing down and was still on the roof as the ground under her was hard and cold. Then someone screamed 'MALADY', Eeenie's eyes snapped open and the illusion that she'd liked went pretty fast. She was NOT on the roof and she wasn't in a dream either. It was real and someone was screaming.

All the sleep quickly went and Eeenie sprung onto her feet with an odd sort of nimbleness for someone who'd spent half the night on a rooftop sleeping. She only looked at teh surroundings for a second, the dim light of the room didn't bother her so much with her wings still casting a dim light of their own but she was a bit bothered by how dirty it was. And all these holes. Why so many holes?! And a little girl too. But as the little girl wasn't screaming, yet, Eeenie decided that it was okay to try and calm the older one first.

She didn't waste much time with that as she was already over at Pae's side with some attempts at calming the other down. Eeenie's hands were on Pae's arms and she was trying to go to Pae who she still hadn't reconized, "Shh, it's okay."

Her age, perhaps, ceased her from the crippling panic of the situation, or merely her disposition that commanded her to trust that all would be well. In any case, Jenivive's shock upon waking in the place was instead followed up by displeasure, rather than fear. She did not like this place, with it's dim light, it's dirt, and it's faint smell of mildew. She wanted to be home. She wanted Wiralu. Or Breena. Or the Luna children who were nice to her.
The emotion seemed all too much for a babe so used to being happy, and a strangled sob was drawn from Jenivive.
She wanted to get out!

The other girls, and their noise, finally made sense to those tear-filled eyes, and she scrunched her hands at them, a wordless plea to get her out.

A touch, calming, soothing, familiar. It was all Paestri needed to help her get control of herself. Her cries quieted down until she was silent and smiling again. "Eeenie, what are you doing here?" she asked in what may be the most pleasant of tones. She scanned the surroundings, peering in the dim light and noticed Jenivive with her scrunched hands directed at them.

She tugged at Eeenie towards the ground, kneeling so that she could pick the infant up. A new taste, or was it entirely new? "Hey there," she brightly greeted. "What's the matter?" She canted her head, glancing over at Aquene.

Some might have been even more concerned at the sudden calm that Pae had but Eeenie was just relieved. She shrugged and answered quickly, "Dunno. Just woke up here," as she followed Pae quickly to the little girl.

"It's almost like we're mice in a piece of swiss cheese, that hole filled cheese, but it's the wrong color." Aquene observed to the other two as she stood close by. "I wonder what's on the other side of the holes? ...I know. I'll go look and tell you."

She went over to a wall and stuck her head in a hole.

Glad of the contact, Jenivive continued to indulge herself with a few fat tears, allowing them to roll down her cheeks. This seemed the way to improvement, a good cry!
Aquene's movements served to confuse her. Was she... was she looking through those peepholes? Crying seemed so much more therapeutic, and much more useful to the mind of a baby.

The hole in the middle of the room was next to draw her eye. Why not look through that big one, then? That big, dark, scary one. No, perhaps the smaller ones were a safer bet, after all.

The peepholes reveal little. There is a small ante-room, devoid of light, and a single chair, but no means of escape via the walls.

Paestri held Jenevive close to her, the way she remember how her own mother held her. She does little else of comforting the infant, noting the taste she got and filing it away for later. She walks around the room, eyeing the ladder curiously. "Do you see anything in there?" she asks Aquene, though her gaze rests on the ladder.

"Um. A chair? A little room. Nothing great. Guess we would go down ladder then." Eeenie was a bit dissapointed, she'd hoped the holes in the walls were escape, that hole in the floor was a bit less friendly looking again.

Aquene went back over to Pae and the baby, reaching up to stroke Jenevive's head with a hand. "Unless you want to sit here and wait. We could do that too."

The words were not lost on Jenivive. Stay here? Oh no. No no no.
With alacrity, she pointed down the scary dark hole. She wanted to be carried down there, thank you. As long as someone else went first. It was not appealing, and she wasn't so keen on the dark without Wiralu singing to her.

Paestri wasn't sure if she was disappointed, she usually had Malady to express those thoughts for her. And with both girls suggesting they venture down the ominous-appearing hole, she nodded her decision to join them. It was better than staying by one's self. Besides, she was carrying Jenivive and if Jenivive wanted to go down, well, Paestri'd have to go down too. It made perfect sense, though perhaps just to Paestri.

"Okie! Down we go!" She declared brightly, "Hold tight, kay?" she beamed at the babe in her arms. "Eeenie, can you go down first? Your wings are kinda glow-y so it would be better if we can see." she requested.

"Okay, we're going down then." Aquene had half hoped that they'd say they wanted to stay-she was brave sometimes but somehow the shock of waking up in a dirty room with holes hadn't really helped with that. "Okay. Me first? Okay."

She barely noticed that she'd said okay three times. Eeenie was already over at the edge of the hole and without looking she was starting down the scary ladder. Her nerves made it look even worse than it already did and Eeenie started climbed gingerly as if she were climbing a rope made of twigs.

Watching the glowing-winged girl disappear into the hole, Jenivive cocked her head expectantly. She seemed not to understand the severity of the situation anymore. She had company, she would be fine. The knowledge that she was trapped god knows where, put there by god knows who, and stuck there for who knew how long seemed lost, and instead she was merely on an adventure.

With any luck, the facts would not be borne upon her.

It's a long way down. A long, long way down. And the visibility isn't improving much!
The bottom is, at least, a little more open than the room they came out of. It seems to be a hallway, stretching out into darkness both in front of and behind them.

Which way now?
