The Charcoal Heart
There once was a young maiden,
Whose heart was as black as coal.
Though the many who loved her,
Were blind as to her goal.
All she ever wanted,
Was to be loved by every single man.
To take all of their hearts,
And grind them into sand.
Oblivious to everyone else,
One brave knight saw the truth.
Many had tried to steal the young maiden?s heart,
Good results were ever so uncouth.
He showed not his love for her,
Hiding it to jumble her emotions.
Not once did he loose his cool,
Or even show his devotions.
The young maiden soon was vexed,
?Why doth this man not love me so?
All in this land hath given me their hearts,
Why not this one knight whose feelings will not show??
She became angry and more confused,
So she went to the man to find out the answer.
?Why doth thou not love me fine sir?
All others around me are romancers.?
?They all tell me that they love me,
And want to take my hand.
How art thou so immune,
That my love seems ever so bland??
The knight smiled and took her hands,
He embraced her cold body with his warm touch.
?So many a love you my darling,
That you do not see I love you so much.?
The young maiden was shocked,
Not ever had she felt so warm and light.

Their love doth never end,
They live together in peace.
