What are you theories about Dragons? What they were like, why they died out, if and why some cultures saw dragons differently than others eg. Chineise Dragons vs Eurpean.
I think they existed and were hunted to extinction by us. It's the makes sense. They reason why no ones ever founf any fosils of them is because in order to get a fossil you need to bury something before or shortly after it dies. Since dragons lived mostly in high rocky places this wasn't possible. Also not everything that did get buried turned into a fossils. After all Oil is made of dead things.
Also I think that The reason the Chinese dragons are long and thin is because in order to survive there they had to adapt to the closeness of it's bamboo forests, thus reducing the need for wings (although they still needed to glide) Where as the European dragons had wide open plains to travers and needed there wings.
Thats my theory, yours?

the theory about the eastern dragons is a good one, but in the chinese/ japanese mythlogy, the dragon was to be revered, ot hunted, also they flew by using their own spirituallity, or at least thats waht I've read.

If you ask me, they are still alive, the few that remain, but are hiding. They will return when they feel we are ready.
Also, i think the different styles in the dragon come from the different interpratations of the cultures they existed in. asian countires said the dragon was serpent-like and honored, almost like a god. While the European countries turned the dragon into a creature to be feared.

hmm....my theory is that maybe they do exist, but either they are hiding or maybe they have more abilities to blend in (morph, shadows, ect) and I also think that based on the enviroment, dragons have different forms.

My personal opinion is that some Dragon myths were inspired by dinosaurs (I'm a creationist) that survived after the global flood. Cue the hunting to extinction bit. I don't know about actual dragons existing but, I've found a site that explains them pretty scientifically: Advanced Dragon Description. However I do believe that the Leviathan exists or at least existed.

I believe dragons are still alive, hiding in the holes in the mountains. Humans at one time probably did hunt them and so they hide out and whatever fall into those holes they use as beddings or food. As for different types of dragons, they probably adapted to their environment. (legend) Supposedly the few humans who didnt hunt the dragons tried to save them. When a dragon died, those humans tried to attach the dragon's souls to oak trees, thus allowing them to live longer inside of the old trees. If you lean your back against the right oak tree you can sometimes feel a warn pulse in the tree. That is the dragons heart beating. If you press your ear against the tree, you might be able to hear the small sound of a growl, heatbeat or laughter. (Try it it really works! I heard them in the old oak in my backyard! Its really cool!!!)

(as you can tell I have to much spare time)

I strongly beleive that dragons existed. i mean some people have found proof. i watched a documentary on T.V. saying that some scientists found dragon bones and remains frozen on top of a mountain.

Dragoon_130 I strongly beleive that dragons existed. i mean some people have found proof. i watched a documentary on T.V. saying that some scientists found dragon bones and remains frozen on top of a mountain. I think I saw that one. but there are to many documenteries about people finding stuff olike that and most of them are a "What would dragons have been like" scenario
