okay before my computer ef'd up i had a marvelous city that was on the first stage to skyscrapers. (meaning buildings began to be reconstructed more tall) but while making that city my expenses were more than income. now i wanna remake that city without going bank rupt or having my goregeous buildings abandonned. can anyone help?

Try cutting costs by removing uneeded stuff, or finding more ways to earn money. However, it is still hard to come up with a very sure way without experimenting.

What costs does your city make, and what helps add to your city's income?

It would also help to tell what version you have.

Dont forget you Can also download buildings from the official maxis site and other sites.

Could be counted as cheating, But really it is more like fast developement. wink

What difficulty did you play? I usually play easy, and I've NEVER had a problem with cash flow. I never really provide services unless I really have to, or would be desirable for me to do so. For services like police, fire and trash, I downloaded buildings that are effective yet keep costs down (like the trash chute!). My cities' treasuries right now literally have more than a million dollars (except for my industrial cities, but I usually have to build out of a deficit with those anyways).
