Electric green eyes opened as a mighty sneeze echoed from underneath a pile of rocks. The creamy stallion grumbled as he pulled him self out from underneath his make shift shelter. The mare he had just been with a day ago had been right, he was sick. His nose was leaking and his eyes were watering and his mouth was dry. "Brilliant..."He rasped throat dry as well. Taking a few shaking steps he fell to his knees, maybe he shouldn't have brushed her offer off so easily. No matter, he needed to get some water.
After what seemed like hours he made it to the stream, exhausted. He lay down on the rocks ignoring the immediate discomfort to place his lips into the water where he left them. It was too cold but at the same time, far too hot. He sneezed again, this time into the water sending a small wave back into his nose. He coughed then sneezed again and all the while all he could think was, 'how did this happen?'

Good grief, was there anyone around these days that wasn't sick? Safi had merely been walking along the riverbank, intending to get a drink and then move on, when the first of the sneezes had made him nearly jump out of his skin. He'd managed to recover a bit, but the following sneezes still made him jump. Man, that didn't sound good at all!
It didn't take him long to identify the source, either; a particularly woebegone specimen of stallion staring down at the water. "Wow, that's quite the powerful cold you've got there, friend. Have you been sick long?" Maybe a bit odd of an intro, but he couldn't help but sympathize with the plight of a fellow sickian...though he was almost over his own cold.

Xantir looked up half expecting to see yet another mare but he was very relieved when it wasn't. He had grown very tired of all the females bothering him. Though he wasn't too fond of anyone at all. His slight anger was quelled at a sudden fit of sneasing. Perhaps, given the situation, it wouldn't be so bad to have some company.
"No...about a day...but that's what you get for swimming in winter..."He coughed a bit before dipping his mouth into the water to try and heal his throat. The chilly water didn't help much but it soothed him enough for him to stop drinking and look up. So he was dealing with a winged one now was he? He side hoping that the wings didn't make him crazy in some way. He didn't have the energy to run off at the moment.

"Swimming in the winter when you're not used to it'll do it to you, yes; and just for future knowledge, so does getting lost out in the snow." Smiling a bit ruefully, Safi walked up to the water's edge and took his drink, careful to be upstream of the other stallion. After all, no reason to get even more germs when he was in the process of healing!
Still, he was suitably sympathetic. Being sick sucked. "Well, at least you haven't been under the weather too long; and if you're already this sneezy, you ought to be over it soon. Hell, I'm on my third week of MY cold, sadly enough." Sighing gustily, he shook his head at the other stallion, giving him what he hoped was a friendly smile. It had been a bit since he'd spoken to anyone else, after all, and he missed conversation.

"Three weeks?" He moaned letting his head fall to the ground. No way did he want to be sick for that long. Looking up stream at the other stallion he narrowed his eyes. Wether intentional or not the other was making him feel like he had some sort of plague. He wanted people to leave him alone but not because he was ill. "And...I'm not lost...I know where I am." What he failed to mention was that he only knew the general location which was the river.
He sneezed a few more times bringing a commen saying to his mind. The one when someone is sneezing then someone is speaking of them. He grumbled knowing that it was only just a cold but if it were true, he didn't want that attention. "Any ideas for fixing me? I can't stay like this..."

"Well, if it's any consolation I was out in the snow so long that I thought I was going to freeze to death; consequently, a cold wasn't bad at all. And since from the sound of your story you didn't do anything that stupid, you probably have nothing to worry about as far as weeks of illness would go." Not that Safi was an authority on disease, but he was pretty sure that his own foolishness had something to do with him getting sick. Hopefully that mare he'd been chatting with hadn't wound up catching it...
Still, he got the impression from the overall grouchiness of the other stallion he wasn't looking at anything through rosy glasses, and Safi at least couldn't blame him. Lifting his head up from the water, he strolled down to where the other stallion was standing, not wanting to have to yell over the water any more than necessary. But cures? "Sorry, friend, but I"d have cured myself a long time ago if I had any decent idea. I've been told that rest was good for getting over illness..." Not that he'd rested himself when HE was sick.

His eyes closed as he let out a sigh. It was good to know that he at least wouldn't have to live like this for long but living like this at all sucked. He struggled to stand but once firmly on four legs he was able to face the other stallion meeting electric green with golden yellow. "So no cure then..." He sighed once again.
If cold was what gave him the sickness then it wasn't going to help in the least. "Maybe I will have to depend on Mushyn and Lunathiel for once..." He mumbled turning about to try to find out where he was and how to find it's way back. The spinning, however, made him dizzy and he had to stop or risk falling over. He wobbled about a little bit before shaking his head to rid him self of the feeling. "I hate this...."

Holy hell but the other stallion had intense eyes. Safi hadn't been expecting them to be such a vibrant color from the neutrality of the other stallion's coat, but the eyes boring into his were the most electrifying shade of green he'd ever seen. Whoa.
He recovered from the shock quick enough, but not as fast as he would have liked. "Whoa, careful there!" As the other stallion started to wobble, Safi jumped forth, offering him a shoulder to stabilize himself on. Last thing he needed was to take a header into the water, sick as he was. "Don't worry about taking off just yet, not until you get your bearings. Trust me, you don't want to make it worse!"

Xantir tilted his head to give the other a questioning look. "Don't worry so much...I can handle a little fall..." No matter what he said he was glad for the help in some strange way. Without taking more then a second to rest he stood back up on his own bending his knees a bit more then normal to keep stability. "And I won't make it worse..." He rolled his eyes and started to walk off looking for some sign of the humans' village.
"Now...where was it again?" He asked him self turning his head this way and that ignoring the light headed sensation. He knew the humans had medicines and they had blankets. The horses that lived with the humans really lived the life. Food and water brought to you, warm every night. It sounded so wonderful but he wasn't willing to give up what he had for it. He wasn't just going to forget his past.

Safi was a wee bit skeptical, watching the other stallion stagger off. He might SAY he was ok, but that didn't mean that he was. "Well, if you're sure that you-" Wait a moment, back up. What had the other stallion said? "Did you say 'Lunathiel' back there?" Because if that was the case, then maybe he could be of help after all...assuming that the Lunathiel in question was the one he was thinking of, Amoena's mother...

He swayed a bit as he turned quirking an eyebrow. "Yes...so?" There was something strange about the way the winged one had said that. It was almost like he had a secret and Xantir didn't like it. "Look...I'm glad you're trying to help but...I gotta run..." Without waiting to even know the white one was up to her bolted running full out as he had been trained to. Sure he had been trained to charge towards people but it was the same thing.
He had only gotten a few feet away before his head started to throb. He tried to shake it off but that made the world spin far to much. A few seconds later his legs fell out from under him and he hit the ground. Hey lay there for a moment letting his vision focus again before rolling over. "Aughhh...that sucked..."He grunted shaking his head once again messing his mane up more then it had been already.

Well, that had been both funny and sad, all at the same time. Safi wasn't sure why the other stallion had tried to run, but he himself could have figured out that was a bad idea. Hell, he couldn't even walk straight, running was bound to have some sort of detrimental effect on him...which it did as soon as he fell over.
"Well, I asked because I happen to know Lunathiel, and I know how to get to her teepee from here, so..." Walking over to the fallen stallion, Safi quirked an eyebrow. He'd offer a wing up, but the white one was acting so oddly... "I could help you back there, if you aren't totally sure of the way." Or if he couldnt' stay upright.

From his spot on the ground Xantir stared at the other from behind his forelocks. His eyes looked as though they could pierce straight through the thickest armor and even the night sky itself. He still wasn't entirely trusting of the other and it only improved mildly at his words. So Lunathiel was a friend of his. That was good. He could get to the warmth much quicker now.
"Just point the way..."He said heaving him self upright. It was nice to know that he only knew her and it wasn't some horrid plan but that didn't mean he wanted help. For years he had been on his own and that wasn't going to change for a kind word. "I found my way here...I can go back on my own..." He shook his head again trying to get his hair out of his eyes this time. The sudden motion made him dizzy and he grumbled. "Maybe I should get that raccoon to tie this out of my face too..." His words were barely audible as they were only meant to be a thought. He could judge him in his sickened state though?

Yeah, if he let this sorry creature go off on his own, Safi would probably have to follow later just to make sure he hadn't collapsed somewhere. So it made sense to just eliminate the middleman now while he had the chance.
"Ok, you; we're going to take a walk, and you're going to attempt to straighten out that head of yours, k? And the sooner we pull this off, the sooner you'll be back at your teepee, and then back off on your wanderings." With that, Safi purposefully helped Xantir stabilize, then offered him that shoulder up once again. "I promise I don't bite, if that's what has you spooked."
