I was mesmerized by the graphics when I first played. It was beautiful, man!!!! I loved it when both characters (alternate world and real world) finally emerged. It was cool. Definitely a game worth playing again.
Has anyone played Jade Empire?

When I played it the first time, I thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread. lol
I really loved the storyline, too. OMG!!! I was shocked when I found out about his/her sensei. Too awesome.

I loved Sudeki but never beat it and now I never will since I sold my XBOX.
As for Jade Empire coming from someone who actually does do some degree of training in the martial arts it was an okay game. The fixed form Kata's for every style were rather boring not being able to string together custom combos was bery weird to not be available in a Kung Fu game. I did enjoy the storyline but found it a wee bit cliched as well.

It's still pretty kick a**. The funny thing about Jade Empire is that it is based on a roleplaying game called Exalted. I played it. It requires a certain taste for it. I am still getting used to it.

I dont see the ties to Exalted in it. In Exalted you are Godlings reborn after being imprisoned in a prison of Jade for a thousand years. Not some mortal who likes to punch things.

Are we talking about the same Exalted here? The table game that takes place in an alternate reality? The one that has a book for every species? The one that requires six dragon bloods to kill one solar, on average? I is confused.
Anyway, I mention this because jade Empire was originally going to be a game based on Exalted, the roleplaying game. However, the idea was dropped, but the game was already in the works. So, instead of letting it go to waste, Jade Empire was created. I thought that was funny, bt I guesss I am the only one.

Sudeki, the world in which the game is based. Ruled over by the god Tetsu, Sudeki is a prosperous world, but Tetsu is lonely, so he creates himself a brother, Heigou. His brother is not nice though, and ultimately the two fight over who gets to control Sudeki. Tetsu calls forth four brave warriors to help him fight his brother, and in the ensuing conflict, Sudeki is split into two worlds, Haskilia and Akloria.
1000 years after the split, Aklorian warriors are attacking Haskilia frequently, and the castle of Illumina and its Elite Guard bears most of the brunt. One of the Guard, Tal, The princess Ailish; Buki, an anthropomorph (part human, part animal) and Elco, the scientist are your characters.
RPG in real time and nice graphics. I found it easy, though. Still a fun game and nice to watch.
