Dart and Mar. We See A Shiny Shiny Future.

Being away from Dad these days was a feat, even if the man was more nag than most women were even rumored to be. Still, he had to get away sometime. He'd started on his way to the blossom village, where his freakishly lovable twin brother had set up camp once again. No amount of coaxing could get So' to live in Merreltrach, for whatever reason. Despite the adoration of his newfound parents, he was just too timid to live with them.

This meant that if Marugeth ever craved his company, he'd have to get off his a** and go.

He could have called Gengenti to take him, but this time he preferred to walk the three weeks to see him. He'd missed being alone in the woods, out on his own like the nomad he once was. His village was like a prison in itself at times. So much time on the road and it was all behind him.

The forests were aglow. He loved this time of year, just after spring's end and into the balmy summer. Daylight was on its decline. He'd only been on the road two weeks and had just passed North Village, making wonderful time despite the distance.

~snp~

Marugeth stopped, red eyes darting back to the source of the sound. He froze on the path. This was, after all, a forest. Not particularly dangerous, but still a place to be wary of.

Not wary enough. He turned at last in time to catch sight of what had approached him. He'd pulled his hand up in a blaze for defense, but too little too late. Antlion fang rended through his stomach as his own blast threw the thing back- a baby antlion, far out of place in these forests. Sickening pain shot through him as he fell, hard, to the sandy path at his feet.

He hadn't even had time to make a sound before it was over.

Jhithe... are you kidding me?? Did I just get killed by a baby antlion?! Didn't I kill an undead one before?! Adult even....

His thoughts were racing until there was nothing left. Marugeth Lighthawk, he who had freed the clans of Merreltrach singlehandedly from the necromancers that had them imprisoned, he who had tossed Martennat into the sea for the scavengers of the deep. Struck down by an oversized larvae.

It wasn't really Marugeth's fault that he was killed by such a young beast that he'd before been able to conquer as an adult. And the spirits hadn't really wanted him to die feeling like a pushover. But it was their job to kill him in the most quick and convinient method possible. And sadly enough for him that was with a baby antlion that quickly died afterwards. Either way the deed had been done and it was time to set to work.

The first task that had to be done was the spirits had to pull Marugeth's body to their realm. After all they couldn't work on him outside of it. Next order of business-cleaning up the mess. That was simple enough anyway. Not too much blood and repairs to be done. Much less messy then car accidents. Those were a pain to clean up. But now for the teams to come in. Oh joy. The spirits hated this part almost as much as the killing. Just because it had a ton of work though.

The work teams started their tasks rather quickly. The soul and body were separate, one team taking the body and the other taking the soul. The two would be rejoined later but right now they were needed to be separate.

Marugeth's body was put in a bed on the Tison space ship the Samadueanna. Not like he'd notice. But he would when he woke up. After he was placed a silver chain was put around his neck. This would later hold the magic relic that would house a reborn god's soul for a while. With that task complete, it was time to send Marugeth's information to the ship's captain and let her know that he was there. She nodded and took the information on a little pom pilot to the room with the "dead" body in it. There was a small baby boy under her arm and a chair across from the bed that she was used to sitting in.

While this was happening Marugeth's soul was rather far away. There was a realm apart from the regular spirit realm. It was home to the souls of the Tison gods. They waited there until a soul was brought that was right to be their guardian and then they bonded with that soul. While neither the child nor the guardian would remember this there may come a time when they would. But for right now Marugeth was bonded with a god-spirit and allowed to return to his body and wake up-the soul now safely in the relic. And Rouge Remika sat there, reading a the information with the baby in her arms, ready to explain everything to him.

Marugeth sat bolt upright, hands curled in tight claws for on-the-fly casting should he need it, eyes shooting about like a dizzy housecat to gather the situation. Ede?? What was all this what? Big box?? He shot expectant eyes at the woman next to him.

"Where ninsh'gaiet sh'da did I end up??" he rambled out, mixing cursewords with nonsense and Amphrell with English. He stared at her, letting his gaze dance off for a few brief seconds to flash-examine the room. Culture shocked indeed.

Rouge would have answered him should the door not suddenly have been opened by another woman. She had a large white pompadour with blue streaks in it. She was small and slight with a large hip flask at her side and strangely tight fitting clothing. "Yo. Blondie. You're needed up front. Squirt says I gotta do the informing." she grumbled pointing at the door. The blonde nodded and exited. Turning to Marugeth the strange woman pointed at him and proclaimed in a rather slurred manner. "You. Strange foreign dude. You're gonna be a Dad to a reborn god kid from a foreign universe."

A moment of gaping at the new lady ended with a baffled pursing of his lips, a tilt of his head and a half-this half-that mumble.

"Ah...mmm....mmmmmmmm??"

God kid?? Uh, foreign? Dad? God foreign kid dad? Marugar? His mind failed to filter it together and he shook his head a few slow, deliberate times before speaking.

"Not following, I'm afraid."

She blinked at him a few times before taking a swig from her flask. With the lid off one could kind of smell whiskey. "Okie. There is a universe place called tison. It had gods. those gods got killeded. an is gon die f'you don care fur oneada gods when s'reburned. Cuz they can't survive on ther awn ya knew." her speech was showing more of that slurr. She was definately drunk. "Who're you anyway?" she asked.

Oh dear, alcohol. Marugeth did his best to ignore the smell, knowing his rather... paltry resistance to the stuff. He wasn't sure whether or not to even believe what she said, but if he didn't, he'd have had "This is all just a nutso dream" to explain it.

"Uh..." he stalled, shifting a little, back straightening defensively. "Marugeth Lighthawk, Clan of Amalanthi, of Merreltrach...." The formality extended, begrudgingly, as the garnet eyes studied her over a few times for an explanation.

"I have to take care of a reborn god?" he parroted, tone heavily muted by the churning of his brain. "Why me?"

"Nice to meet ya. Charlene Phillip Dartsmoore last of the Dartsmoore Clan." the Dart said shaking his hand. "And I aint got a clue why you. But ya gotta care for one." that was insane. She got drunk from a sip of a drink but sobered some after a few moments? What the hell?

She was a weird one. Definitely. He'd seen the drunk and tipsy type before. The kind that wobble one moment and perform magic the next. She made him a touch apprehensive, but he did his best to stay on top of things. Her handshake threw him off heavily, being a mage not at all used to physical contact for greetings. He smiled weakly, and fakely, readjusting himself to a more comfortable seated position.

"So..." he said clearing his throat, attempting to move on with things. "Uh. This kid, uh. Where is it?"

"Round your neck. They start as relics. Or souls in relics. I forget which. But anyway you get a relic-yours looks like a moon r summat-and then you wait like 2 days n it becomes a baby." she said with a shrug.

Marugeth's eyes fell to the moon-shaped thing hanging around his neck. This was a kid? How did a necklace become a kid?!

He shrugged, not at all sure to believe her or not. Suppose she could have been crazier after all. The world wasn't the simplest place ever. It wasn't as if he knew any different, but he knew better at least.

He nodded his compliance reluctantly. "Alright then... " he murmured. "I suppose I'll do it..."

The woman shurgged. "Yeah anyway you don't have a choice considering those necklaces don't seem to vanish too easily. I unno. I'ma jus be glad I don't have one. Nyway follow me. Transporters thisaway." she said with a nod and promptly walked right into the wall. "Okay so it's this way." She said and walked into the closed door. "Okay maybe I should open it. This way." and she led him off. Now it'd be nice if she got there without bumping into quite a lot but she didn't. However she did manage to keep from falling. And with that another guardian had their charge.

Ramble Number 1

Wow, my life just gets more complicated every time I go somewhere doesn't it? I mean, this time, I died even. Died. Like... dead. I don't get it either.

So I've got a little moon pendant. Ironic, anyone? Hellooo. Sun element. My twin's a moon element. Now I've got a moon element kid? Is someone trying to tell me something or what? Is there an eclipse coming or something?

The way the... lady? explained it, this pendant works a lot like a clan relic, what with the holding of spirits and all that. Sooner or later it's gonna pull a Nehatha on me and spring out a kid. I don't know when or what or why or jhininsh' that's going to happen, but the person with the rod coming out of her forehead said so, and being as I died, I can really only assume she's... Some sort of pixie? deity? Normal people do NOT look like that. Look, I'm not normal, I'm anything but. But at least my hair isn't a rod.

It may be all tapered and unnatural... but it's not a rod.

... Eew, me with rod hair.

Vanity is a sin, Marugeth. Vanity is a sin.

I feel like I can't take this thing off... but it's awfully pointy... if I sleep with this on I'm going to end up losing an eye. Or a nose even, sheesh.

I want to go back to Merreltrach and tell pa about this... but I have a feeling he's going to check my forehead and plop me in bed and make me drink soup til I forget it. I think So' has a better chance at understanding this. God, he gets everything. Ma says he got all the brains.

Then Pa elbowed her... well? She's not WRONG. I'm not the brightest firefly in the bush or anything. So' is.

Marugeth is dummy. Marugeth takes necklace from crazy drunken rod-headed lady and thinks it's gonna turn into a baby.

BUT I DIED. That makes it WORLDS different.

Man, baby antlion, ni ugupuhnt-murash sh'ze.

Magical Meeting wif So'/Ramble Number 2

Yeah, so my brother decided I'm off my rocker too. He humored me for a while, but then he did that confused nod and walked away... without answering me... I asked him a question, dammit.

So I've got a little moon on a string that's supposed to go infantile on me. And So' thinks I'm ugahf sh'umbatha. I think I'm probably bear s**t too. I BELIEVED THE ROD-HEADED LADY!

So's really pretty...

... just randomly. I mean, that's my twin. He's three inches taller than me, long pale green hair and big moon eyes. Read it here and he's a creepy feck but see him in person... That's my twin.

How am I twin to THAT?

I suppose I could talk to Fe about it... he's got more of an imagination than I do. Then again... I really don't need his expert advice if it means he's going to profess that it'll be a unicorn with antlers on its butt, and then spend the next two days giggling about it so hard his horns fall off.

I've already resigned to asking Tiga what he thought, and him I trust most, but god, even he has his limits as to what he'll believe. He'll probably do what my dad would do. Or he'd freak out about me dying and start going on some crusade to figure out if I'd been poisoned or something.

Tiga loves me too much for his own good. It really stresses him out more than I'd like it to.

It's weird that all this time Tiga was my only brother, and then I find someone that really is. Sort of hard to think of myself as a twin to anyone but Tiga... but it's cool, having people that care that much.

I suppose So' is "brother" and Tiga is "Shash'zedeta". Keep it separate I suppose....

.... what the hell am I on about?

Right. Baby.

I suck with babies.

Seriously.....
