Ah, what a morning.

The sky was clear of any clouds, and the savannah was hot and dry, the earth cracking underfoot as the little hare went about his way.

He was leaving. Long had he spent his days in his parent's nest as a leveret, and now he was ready to leave the 'nest' as a fully-able young hare kit.

It was a 'graduation', of sorts. Sure, he would have liked to stay with his family a little longer. However, the fact that they'd disappeared and never returned did make Kibaraka feel a little uneasy.

Now, it was ready to move on.
Bidding farewell to his old home, the young bun took a few hops and away he went. Maybe he'd find some trace of his relatives out here. He didn't really know. For now, he'd just hop.

( xD Btw, despite cert, Kibaraka = Male. <3 )

Mkimya giggled. She had snuck out again. Ohhh she was going to give her mother a heartattack one day. It was already the third time she had snuck away from her mother and her sister and it was only a few days since she had met her supposed brother.

She bound out of the grass racing anything that decided to move. Like the grass for instant.

And then...

The gold-eyed fawn skidded to a stop seeing a bunny-thing. She blinked at it and started toward in. Maybe she could make conversation. Maybe.

"Hallo!" She said as she got closer to it. It had adorable black and pink markings on a gray body. She though it was cute. What a weird Klipspringer.

He had only bounded a few feet from the nest, when he had come across a strange creature. This was his first encounter with a creature that looked unlike himself, although he somehow knew that this animal was not a hare at all.

"Uh, good morning," he said politely, looking up at the stranger, "Nice day out, isn't it?"

He wasn't sure whether he should run, hide, or participate in the conversation. One day, he'd be eaten like this, Kibaraka supposed.

But then, this creature didn't look dangerous... she looked like one of those animals his parents had described. The ones that lions took down all the time.

Mkimya sat down on her rump and giggled. "It's nice day, yep," she said. She looked up at the sky as she said it. "What's your name?" She asked curiously looking back down to the hare.

She blinked before asking another question. "Where are you from?" Her tail 'wagged' as she had seen another klipspringer do it. Namingly her brother. Well, that was what the white klips said.

Kibaraka stopped, and thought about the situation he was in. Okay, so he wanted to travel, and was starting to leave the nest today as a result. But now... he was caught up in a conversation.

Still, he supposed, this girl would know much more of the world than he, being older than him. He, too, took a seat on his rump, and looked into the strange creature's golden eyes. Strange she was, but she was also pretty, and Kibaraka found himself admiring her pelt.

"I'm called Kibaraka," he answered her question with bright eyes, and a polite smile, "A kitten. Parents both missing... but something like that isn't about to spoil my day. And your name is...?"

Truth be told, he did feel tremendously sad for his missing 'rents, but decided that this was the Circle of Life, the way life went, and there was nothing to be done about it.

"I say, you're an odd looking creature, aren't you, Miss?" he sized her up, "A pretty thing, but still rather odd."

"Ohh, does your name mean something?" She asked curiously. She liked knowing whether someone's name ment something or not. It was interesting. "My name's Mkimya," She answered.

"Truth is, I don't know who my Daddy is, but life is still good. "If you have no where to go, you could stay with me, Mommy and my Sister," Mkimya said.

"Me? I'm odd?" She asked. She paused and blinked for a quick thought. "I guess I am.... I'm a Klipspringer! What're you?"

"Hmmm... I'm not really sure. It's really what my parents named me, and I haven't really found the time to ask," he nodded, though he didn't think he'd ever get the chance to ask them again, "Mkimya, then? Hmmm, hmmm, what does your name mean, then, Miss?"

Kibaraka's voice was young and soft, as were the usual voices of young boys. Yet, he did try and sound as adult as possible... though he knew that it were a little silly - his voice hadn't even deepened yet.

"Truth is, I don't know who my Daddy is, but life is still good. If you have no where to go, you could stay with me, Mommy and my Sister."

Kibaraka looked up at the 'klipspringer' girl, and gave her a wide smile. He apprechiated the offer, he really did, but he was being... called. Called out for something. Something that he didn't quite understand.

"Thankyou for the offer, Ms Mkimya," he said, grateful, "But I actually... plan to travel. Travel as far as I can. There's something out there, calling me, and I need to go and find out what it is. But good luck in finding your father, girl... maybe you should ask your mother about him sometime. She'd have to know who he was!"

He paused. What was he? Aaaah, he could answer that one.

"Why, I'm a hare!" he said, proudly, "One of the finest animals there is!"

"My name? My name means 'silent one'. I'm not very quiet though," Mkimya said. She 'pawed' at the ground with a hoof.

Mkimya smiled and Tilted her head lightly. "Well, good luck on traveling," She said. "I'll ask me mom who my dad is after I ask if I have a brother." Mkimya giggled lightly. She sounded a bit silly. Well, in her point of view she did.

"A Hare? Well, hares are so cute!" Mkimya said with a smile. Hares were cute.

Kibaraka dipped his head to Mkimya, then raised his eyes to meet hers.

"Thanks, Mkimya," he breathed, with a calm smile, "I plan to go far. I wouldn't mind coming to visit, every now and then, if you'd welcome me."

He, in turn, wagged his little puff-of-a-tail, as he'd seen Mkimya do.

"It seems your family is rought with secrets?" he asked, tilting his head to one side, "You have other relatives that you don't know about? Is that right...?"

To the comment about his species, he blushed a little, and gave a laugh.

"Haha, thanks. We're more than cute, though! Especially when we lash out, or start fighting! Then we're a force to be reckoned with!" he gave Mkimya a big grin, "Hares are really noble creatures. I suppose klipspringers aren't that bad, either! What does your species do best, then?"

"I'll welcome you anytime!" Mkimya said with a calm smile and a small giggle.

"I think so. A white Klipspringer said that me and another Klipspringer were related. So I'm going to ask my mom about it," She said.

It seemed like nothing would ever bring this little klipspringer down she was so light hearted and cheerful.

"Do best... I don't know..." She said. "I never asked." She gave a grin. "I guess I should ask that, too, huh?"

"You should, indeed," Kibaraka gave a brisk nod of his head, "It would interest me to find out what you guys do best... funnily enough, I don't know much about other animals. I guess that's kind of strange, but... I'm only a kitten, after all."

He paused, at that. Well, he'd met someone new, which was nice. He still, however, had a lot to learn of the world... it was a big place, and there were many things that were still a mystery to the hare.

"You'd better ask your mother all of those things, Mkimya," he nodded, bounding to his feet, "I'll need to be getting ahead on my journey, too."

He blinked.

"Shall I see you sometime again, soon, klipspringer?"

"Well, it's not that strange," Mkimya said. Her tail started to 'wag' again; influence of her brother.

Mkimya stood up after the hare bounced up. "I should," She said, her tail still wagging like a wild dog's would. Or, in her mind, as her brother would.

"Alright," she said with a grin. "I need to be getting back home anyways."

She paused for a second.

"Yep, I'll see you soon. It was fun meeting you, Kibaraka!" She said. "And Good Luck!"
