The concept of Liberal christians is still enw to me and somewhat strange. If I were to talk about this with my friend (She's REALLY religious) she would tell me they're not real christians. Not very tolerant. I think the Idea of a liberal christian is good but not a large enough number. Anyway, would these people argue that they are christians or would they agree with my friend that they're not completely christian? Also what stops so many christians from being more aceptive and stuff? It kinda sucks that people arn't as aceptive of other thigns don't you agree?

I think a true Christian would be more of a moderate than a liberal, honestly. They must be willing to accept everyone equally, through a Christ-like love that, by the way, disregarded race. Even Gentiles were given healing and aid, though it would be against Jewish belief.

All accepting is truly what Christianity should be about... it's sad what state it has been twisted to in this day...

Now what was it Judis (sp?)said to Jesus is JEsus Christ Supre Star? "Everything you say gets twisted some other way" ? Somethign like that. That's a good movie, I really like it. Anyway sometimes people have a bad habit of wisting things into something else. Also there the "REspect thy neighbour" yet it's not so easily followed and rarly is. These fundies who say everything they don't like is evil or satanic and the realy pushy jahovas witnesses who keep trying to tell you all about god and all that stuff.

Though it *is* funny when they show up at your door, and you invite them into your "den of satanism" (I'm talking nude statues, pet snakes, pentagrams everywhere... xd )

Jehova's Witness get a bad rep though. Some of them are really quite nice.

My friend was JW, now he's a shaman. I was LDS, now I'm neo-pagan. And pentagrams... are you crazy, woman? I wouldn't keep a pentagram anywhere near me. Of course... I've got my pentacle around my neck, so I guess I'd set them off just as bad. xd

Oh yes, no disrespect meant by the 'are you crazy, woman?' comment.

EDIT: Red text was word misuse corrected.

Heh heh...JW's.

Oops, off topic.(seriously, Jehovah's Witnesses are cool.)

Liberal Christians are perfectly normal. One of my friends you wouldn't know he was Christian until he told you, cause he's so laid back about it. That, in my opinion, is the best kind of religious person. Not pressing their beliefs, just allowing for yours to exist, and making debate, not argument. Studies have shown that humans stop "listening" after their blood pressure reaches a certain level, like in an argument.

Oops, off subject.

I think I could be considered a Liberal Christian, I think. Where I am from Liberal is like a bad word and I never understood why, still don't really.
I always try not to push my religeon onto other people, because I don't like it done to me. My nuber one rule is, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." I think it makes since no matter what religeon you are.
Neo_Merlin, what kind of information do you have on Liberal Chrstians, I am interested in it.

I suppose I could be considered a liberal Christian...well, more like a very liberal conservative. xp
I think abortion should be legal in certain cases (in case of incest, rape, or if the mother physically couldn't handle childbirth), and I don't believe that everything in the Bible happened as written.
For example, evolution. I think God created the universe...billions of years ago. And I think God lets life evolve. I mean, I believe in miracles, but the Earth is not six thousand years old as some people have "calculated."

Also, if I find out a friend is an atheist or pagan, I'm not like "OMG HEATHEN!!!!11" You don't preach to me, I don't preach to you. Comparing beliefs is interesting, though.

You've made a good friend this day. I agree with this sentiment exactly... except... I am pagan...
