If you have any questions pertaining to the ranking structure of any military branch, ask here and I will find and answer for it. I will soon be makin a Corps of Cadets. Corps of Cadets is somewhat like ROTC, but you don't have to join the military afterwards. I will be using one of the branches of the military. All military branches rates and ranks will be listed here.

First is the Army. Starting with the highest rank and ending with the lowest rate. Pictures are in the next post. More info will be provided for all rates and ranks. Ranks are officers only, Rates are enlisted only.
Officers
General of the Army
The Genereal of the Army is the highest ranking person in the Army. Only one person gets to this rank, and it is only during times of war. This person has 5 stars arranged in a circle. He/She is also General of the Marine Corps and General of the Air Force, it depends on the branch they are serving for.
