I thought that everyone might like a link to a whole bunch of cartoons (funny and depressing and just not funny) about abortion. And, since most of the people in here are Pro-Life (this being the PLG and all *smile*) it is fitting that most of the cartoons are also Pro-Life. The link is here. A really good cartoon:

Every criticism of the right or those that are pro-life almost all had to do with the rights supporting the death penalty. Its just funny how ignorant some of these cartoons are, both from the right and the left.

Well yeah. This is such an emotional topic that a lot of people feel the need to put their anger into some cartoons that aren't especially funny. None of them are light hearted, but some of them are pretty good. I don't think that a cartoon about such a serious topic could be any less emotional. I certainly couldn't find a cartoon that didn't take abortion seriously very funny...

I've actualyu seen a few, but most have been created by users in the CHoicer's guild.
And I wasnt talkign about emotions, where di those come from o.0 I was refering to how either side when attacking the other seemed to use extremly tired and cliche arguments. I honostly don't care how emotionaly charged and critical these cartoons are, they're supposed to be when you think about it. I just want to see something new.

I guess a few of them just seemed so emotionally charged to me. Sorry for projecting that onto what you said. I have so many people's signatures on AdBlock that I probably miss a lot of cartoons on the subject. *shrug*

Scribblemouse I like this one. I use the term loosely. I sort of like that one, only in that third trimester abortions really are done only in cases where the woman involved would die without them. So it sort of makes sense to assume that many people who want to ban such abortions aren't really thinking about the health/life of the woman. I assume that you don't think that life saving abortions are wrong, or at the very least are justified?

I assume that you don't think that life saving abortions are wrong, or at the very least are justified? Actually, I haven't heard of any campaigns to ban late-term abortions that don't include an exception to save the woman's life. "Health," maybe, because health is a ridiculously broad term, but the opposition I've seen has been mostly to elective, non-life-threatening late-term abortions. Which pro-choicers (in general, the vocal ones) still insist on keeping legal, as they see any restrictions whatsoever as a slippery slope to take away women's right to vote or something. rolleyes Same way that people complain about smoking bans in restaurants as "chipping away at smokers' rights." wahmbulance

So it would be like (to sort of twist your example) petitioning to ban smoking in non-smoking sections. Though I suppose there is no problem with making it a law to say that late-term abortions should only be done to save the life of the woman, since they really are only used as such. Smoking bans are taking away rights from business owners, not smokers. No one has the right to smoke (or to not be around smoke) but business owners should have the right to ban or allow smoking in their establishment, within many limitations (like that smoking sections should be completely separate, with separate ventilation systems, and employees should freely sign a wavier to work around smoke, and without this could not be forced to work the smoking section).

yeah, i noticed the partial-birth abortion one.
unless it truly was about the life of the mother (even then, aborting that late is cowardly, in my oppinion) then the illustrator is full of s**t. yes, another, what, month and a half, if that, is "lost"? god damn, some people need to stop breathing so much.
