((Continued from main Turnover thread))

"I'm not that bad," K'rel insisted, making a face. It wasn't as if he drank daily or anything. He very rarely drank, in fact, which possibly explained why he drank so much on the rare occasions that he did. "At this point, I could take the stairs, the wine, the food, and a wild flitt attack and still make it up those stairs, so excited am I to see your whers." He rolled his eyes, but started up nonetheless. "They will meet us at the top?"

"Mhm," T'bell nodded, smiling at the thought that a wild flitt attack was not far off, knowing K'rels' flock. "I managed to get them to learn between, but Zeph still doesn't...want to?" He shrugged and padded up the stairs ahead of the brownrider. "They need to have a place to stretch otherwise they'll get sore from the travelling they did."

"Besides, it's not only the drinking that makes you a lush." He looked over his shoulder, finally able to look down on the brownrider from his advantageous hieght thanks to the stairs. "It's the flirting as well."

"Have you?" He raised a brow, surprised. "I had heard it was possible, but haven't seen it done myself. They go between without a rider? Without a guide?" Even half drunk, the Wingsecond in K'rel won out for the moment.

But only a brief moment, as he forgot the subject almost immediately in favor of T'bell's following words. "Look at the pot calling the kettle black. I can't successfully flirt unless you are flirting in return, greenrider."
PostPosted: Wed Jan 03, 2007 9:58 pm

T'bell turned around very seriously. "I don't know how to flirt, brownrider. I assure you we Harpers are not taught that." He rolled his eyes, "It's not one of my talents. I have many not-talents. If I can't speak half the time how am I supposed to flirt?" He started up the stairs again and cast K'rel a lowered-lashes look, then batted them for extra effect. "Why yes Mister Wingsecond, they can go between. My, aren't you handsome!" Then he giggled for ditsy effect and waved his hand in the air before he returned to his normal voice.

"I just need an image to send them, something that gives off a heat pattern, that's how they see. If I give them your image the way they see it, all orange and red, then they'll appear to that picture. I learned it from a handler, and the Hall has some dusty old records on it and they're actually really fascinating if you take the time to read them, and get past the smell. I mean, no one ever pays any attention to whers since they're not as 'pretty' as dragons, but I think they're just as beautiful, only different creatures." Off he was on one of his reflections.

K'rel's expression went from startled, to irritated, to down right confused as the greenrider went on. It neutraled out somewhat as T'bell began his ramble about watch-whers and their abilities, but beneath the surface he was still rather irritated by the greenrider's words. He fended off his own reply by sipping at his wine, speaking once more only after T'bell had fallen silent. "If I am not allowed to declare myself talentless, than neither are you. Hypocrite."

"...Well met. But I only said I had many not-talents, not that I don't have any talents." He made a face, "I think being taught how to flirt would be difficult anyway, and I only have sisters...which is why I can do the eyelash thing so well." He batted them again, "Though it was usually followed by a 'can you get my dress' or 'my shoes! I left them!' or shells, 'give him this note!'" He shook his head. "I can mimic them though. They usually throw something at me, but if I have thier shoes then at least it's not that." He grinned, "And you're wearing your shoes."

L'mur had finally made it down to the Weyrbowl, after having spent quite a while oiling Saranth-- which meant that he then had to bathe himself. Dressed comfortably in tunic and trews instead of his riding leathers, L'mur shoved his hair out of his face and followed the unmistakable sounds of many people celebrating. His small fair of fire lizards wheeled over him, chirping happily at the general sense of chaos and festivity. L'mur rolled his eyes and waved a hand at them to join the others crowding the ceiling high above... only to be thoroughly ignored.

Saranth?

The air above L'mur's head was suddenly clear, although gold Ofira scolded L'mur (and possibly the green dragon) as she went.

He wove his way through the crowd unhindered when he caught a glimpse of a familiar head of black curls going in the other direction. It couldn't be T'bell, could it? L'mur hadn't seen the other harper-turned-greenrider in over a Turn, or even since he'd Impressed.

"T'bell!" he called out, his mind automatically searching for Liliath. Struggling against the crowd, L'mur called again. "T'bell, is that you?"
PostPosted: Thu Jan 04, 2007 5:10 pm

"It's basically the same thing," he countered, continuing after the greenrider up towards the heights. "I doubt there's any possible way you can grow up with a bunch of girls, live with Liliath, and still not know how to flirt. You're probably just too stuff and selfconscious to do so intentionally, and when you do unintentionally, you just don't notice. You've certainly nailed the eyelash thing," he observed dryly, raising a brow. At the call from the other greenrider, he paused in step, glancing back the way they had come towards L'mur but speaking to T'bell. "Is this where I begin playing bodyguard?"

"I saw how they flirted with boys." He shrugged, "It's not like I can hike up my skirts or play helpless. I have a dragon, I'm not helpless. Besides, I haven't worn skirts in ages." He frowned at the memory, then heard a familiar voice and stopped on the stairs, turning around to see who it was that called and also stepping back down and half behind K'rel. "Maybe...unless that's..."

"Lemurrin?" He blinked and peeked out, then waved with a grin, "Hey!"
PostPosted: Thu Jan 04, 2007 7:52 pm

"Bodyguard?" L'mur repeated, catching the last bit of their conversation. "You a marked man, T'bell?" He grinned and hurried to join them, nodding a greeting at K'rel. "And, ah, it's L'mur now." The greenrider quirked a brow, still clearly proud to be able to announce himself as such.

"Liliath would sooner mock you than rescue you from menial tasks, and we could easily find you another skirt." He flashed a grin, and, after nodding a greeting to L'mur, stepped around T'bell to continue up the steps. "He Impressed...green Saranth, is that correct, L'mur?"

Always the dragons, never the riders,
Siventh drawled from wherever he might be.
PostPosted: Thu Jan 04, 2007 8:05 pm

T'bell recoiled at the offer and muttered for only K'rel to hear before moving around him. "Not without enough blackmail and a dragon that refuses to spirit me away. Pants, thank you."

He grinned at L'mur, "Of course." He patted K'rel on the arm like he were a dragon, but paused at the next words. "Wait...you Impressed? Why didn't Lilia-"

You told me you wanted to hear nothing. she shrugged mentally, You would find out soon enough. She sent a quick hello to L'mur, more a feeling than actual words, but was tired and happily curled up with Siventh.A moment later she roused herself enough to send He is still a wherry.

"Nevermind," He waved a hand, "I know why she didn't. A green?" He glanced back at K'rel for confirmation, "That's wonderful for you!"

Saranth preened at being mentioned. Liliath! You are the one who spoke to Mine! Her rider snickered and greeted Liliath and Siventh, with a quick mental nudge at Saranth not to bother the pair. The green huffed; she had more sense than that!

"Yes, more than a Turn ago," he confirmed, impressed that K'rel would remember the details.
"... So where have you been, anyway?"
PostPosted: Thu Jan 04, 2007 8:27 pm

"You're no fun," the brownrider mumbled, continuing up the steps. However, he paused at the top and sunk down to seat on the top step, alternately nibbling on another pastry and sipping at his wine, though he took his time with both...mostly because it was the last of the pastries and T'bell had the wineskin. Let the greenriders gossip. He was perfectly happy to sit on the sidelines and watch.

He is funny. She sent to the little green with amusement. We need more greens, there were few of us. Then after consideration, You are too small for my brown. Fly another. It was best to get that sorted out while one could still sit on the other.

"I uh..." He shrugged, "Well, I was playing Watchdragon at the Hall. You know, appeasing my mother who never sees me, ferrying Harpers around when I had the time, gratefully enjoying home now that my sisters are otherwise and otherwhere involved." He coughed, "Kind of needed the vacation. I should have mentioned I was going," He waved his hands again, "But how abot that? A dragon of your own. She'll never be Liliath of course," He grinned, "But I'm sure she's quite close. Saranth? How did the Impression go?"
