What are your views and opinions of the recent news on david deciding to take a well deserved break from recording and touring the 8th studio album?

I'm biased about it. It's kind of good and kind of bad. Good because it think he deserves a break away from the band to just relax or whatever. Bad because this could break the band ever since Head left the band's been carried by the 4 of them. So in other words his leaving could have some serious reprecussions on the band and their sound.

Eh, I'm kinda mad at him, doing this at such a crucial time - especially after all the possibilities surrounding this move. There's word of him focussing on his businesses, rehab and even just laziness or getting sick of the whole band thing. It's all just kinda selfish to me...

I personally think that it's a load of bull. I can understand him wanting to take a break, seeing as KoRn as a band have been under quite a bit of stress lately, what with Jon's illness and Head leaving. But all this talk about him leaving the band to focus on other stuff, what the hell is that all about?

Yep like I said, there's always a good and bad side to each reaction.
You can thank Sir Issac Newton.

His replacement seems to be a better drummer than he is though. Way older, but better. As to what will this do to the band's sound, I have no clue - we'll just have to wait and see.

Well not just sound but how about band dynamics? They've pretty much brought in an outsider to a family.
Kind of reminds me of Metallica when Cliff died and they brought in Jason Newstead.

Kind of reminds me of Metallica when Cliff died and they brought in Jason Newstead. Well, they know the guy. Jonathan and Munky have worked with him before, so I guess dynamic-wise they'll be ok.

He probably got along fine with him since they're in the process of finishing the record without a hitch (besides David's hiatus of course) xd

I think they should have tried to recruit one of the most well known and one of the best drummers out there, Dave Grohl since he's not really doing much since Foo Fighters are on a break and I don't think that he's going to reform PROBOT anytime soon.
