Depending on where you live,where your buying it, and who you know it may require you to 18 or older.

A Paintball shop most likely won't hastle you when trying to fill a tank, but if your talking somewhere like Wal-Mart they will most likely require you to be 18. I know they inforce rules that you have to 18 or older to buy certains items. I know they've given me a problem or 2 when trying to buy spray paint, but now I'm 18 so blaugh to them.

Damn. Yeah, I'm still working on my parents to allow me to own my own paintball marker and gear. My friend and I went to a Sports Authority in Silverthorne. We went to the back where the guns were (there were aisles of bows, airsoft, and paintball markers) and there was already another guy getting his CO2 filled up. We told my mom fifteen minutes and we went to ask her if it was ok for us to do that. We convinced her yes and then when we went back both guys were missing. A guy walked up to us asked us what we needed and told me where to get CO2 and said I'd need to show my ID. Well I went to go look for it but the place he pointed to was the Ski/Snowboard rental. So I went up to the customer service counter and while I was waiting it dawned on me that I'd probably need to be eighteen for this. So I just asked how old you have to be and the guy said that he thought it was eighteen. Afterwords when we got back to my mountain house my friend and I joked about how most people want a fake ID for drinking and that I'd want one for buying CO2.
