See, with me, I saw the trailer for the movie and my friend and I thought it looked amazing. So we saw it the first day it came out...loved it more than a fat kid loves chocolate cake...and then we discovered it had a show that came before it! We were like, "THERE IS A SHOW THIS AWESOME ON TV AND WE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW ABOUT IT?!"
So we watched the show. Loved it of course because Firefly is amazing. How can something like this be cancelled? *Kills FOX*

Anyways, yeah, I love the space cowboys theme. It reminds me of Cowboy Bebop. The movie is amazing too, you should check it out. It pretty much starts where the show leaves off. xD

It's almost like the same kind of theme. Space cowboys. A future that has mixed cultures all in one place, etc. I'm not saying it's exactly the same, it just kind of relates to it.

i was also a whedon fan first. loved buffy and angel though more of a buffy fan than angel. anyways, i heard joss was making this new show firefly but when i first watched it on Fox i didn't really get into it. maybe because the first ep i saw was like the 3rd ep...but when the space channel did a firefly marathon i decided to tape all of them and i started with the second half of the 1st ep and was hooked from there! i wish it wasn't canceled =( but i loved serenity. i own that and wish i can own the big desert style poster

Pretty much the same as everyone else. I was a Whedon fan already, and when it came out on DVD I bought it and loved it. At first I only watched the first few episodes and kind of drifted out, but then when the movie ads started coming out I watched it all. Love. Unfortunately, it was canceled because no one watched it while it was actually on. xD Too bad. I was hoping for a come back after the movie, too.

Well, my stepdad picked it up from our local Blockbuster. This almost prevented me from watching it, as he has, in the past, picked some really foul sci-fis. But then my mother, a woman not big into sci-fi, vouched for it. My first episode was "Out of Gas" and I was hooked.
It's an amazing story, with great characters, and there isn't any ego to anyone who plays the characters.

Whedon fan, bought Serenity first and loved it. Bought Firefly, loved it more. A lot of love is spent on Joss...
Will there be auditions for Jayne? Or River?

A friend of mine was really into it and loaned me the novel. I also got the first episode in the series from him. Later, my boyfriend and I rented Serenity since I liked to novel version.

I have and always will be a very very devout Joss Whedon fan, ever since Buffy came out, actually. I watched Firefly after I watched season 7 of Buffy, and everyone knows what I'm talking about when I say it was really really odd to see the face of Caleb with Mal's personality. Seems Joss likes to have familiar actors around him. Mal, River and Jayne are three right of the top of my head that had been in either Buffy or Angel.
