TYPES OF ROLE PLAYING

Type A
This type of roleplay is the standard Roleplay which means post by post interaction. That's the kind you can find all over Barton Town where a user posts an event and/or dialogue and another user either replies to the action or posts it's own.

Type B
In this one a user has interaction with an NPC so he needs a moderator to play the NPC's part. This can also be done with Type C. The user has to contact a Roleplay moderator that is online and have him/her play the part of the NPC.

Note: Those are for Roleplay Creator's NPC characters/races only, if a user who created an NPC wants to roleplay with his NPC he can do it by himself.

Type C
This type can also be referred as real time roleplay. Here you can roleplay using an instant message service and have the users you want join you for a real time play. After the roleplay is over the player that created the roleplay session should post in detail the events that happened and how they happened in a post. The user should try to make it just one post unless it has too much info.

POSTING GUIDE

Since this is a complex RolePlay we need a guide to sort things out faster. Also the written word only has so much power, if we add some guidance imagination could do the rest for us.
This guide will be separated by type of posting and examples.

Out of Character posts

When talking out of character do it using double brackets instead of double parenthesis.

[[This is how Out of character talk should be posted, double brackets and bold]]

Character's actions

Just like always actions should be done within asterisks

*Takes a step and without notice starts laughing*

Character's Dialogue

Since most of us will have more than one character to play as, I would like it if everyone followed the script format.

Zairyo: "This is what I mean by script format, name of the character in bold will help"

Character's thoughts

I would appreciate if everyone avoided doing this unless your character can communicate through telepathy. Why avoid it? simple, some people can't help themselves to godmod and they will use the info or create a character that reads minds in order to beat you or whatever unfairly which would instantly piss me off and get them banned ^^

Zairyo: (This is why I wanted to use brackets with OOC)

Voice effects

If the character talking is a Famine it's text should be Indigo.
Even if the character is a host the text should be indigo since the Famine will be in control anyway.

Famine: "Ah we have a guest, should we give him our best reception?"

Other Languages

Not every race speaks "The Galactic Federation language" (aka English) so if you have a race that speaks other languages you should write with a strikeout line and italics. If the language is known through the galaxy though not as common you can just write it with italics only.

Race1: "What are you doing here stranger?"

Race2: "I got stranded, I'm looking for my friends"

Race1: "I can't understand what you're saying"

Narration

While you describe a scene and it's surrounding it'll be done the same way as always with the standard text size. Basically just write and don't worry about formatting.

Posting Scenes Artwork

If you feel like illustrating a scene the max size is 500 x 500 pix. If you want to do it by panels (comic style) with a sequence the total size must still be 500 x 500 max.
However if you have more than one scene to illustrate that doesn't happen in a sequence, more like two scenes in one post you can have two images posted both with a max of 500 x 500.
This is done to avoid stretching the page and help loading time

ROLEPLAY ORGANIZATION

I was planning on doing this with the Stargate Atlantis RP but I guess this one can use it as well. Basically our Roleplays will be divided into "seasons" pretty much like a TV show does.

Introductory Point:
The moderators will start posting some events so other users get into the flow of things. It is still recommended that you have your own introduction to your characters laid out and just use the info that will be provided by the mods as a reference to what your characters might encounter in the near future.

Starting Point:
This is where everyone starts posting their own characters introductions and the story/stories will develop. People joining the RP have until the starting point of a season to join. If they haven't submitted their character and other info required they will have to wait for the next season.

Regular Action:
This is the standard roleplay action, introductions have been covered and now it is just the main story taking place across the galaxy.

End of Season:
Everyone gets together to discuss the ending of the season in a way that is interesting and that has a path for continuation. After a season ends there will be a "vacation" period in which you can create new characters if your old ones died or more NPCs that you might need etc.

ROLEPLAY CREATOR & MODS

The roleplay creator assigns other users as Roleplay moderators. The task of a roleplay moderator is checking that nobody is breaking the rules. The number of roleplay moderators can increase if another user shows devotion towards keeping the rules.

Roleplay Creator: Zairyo

Roleplay Moderators:

Hota
Ilania
Jaxton Dragoon

RACE AND CHARACTERS MODS

People that submit a new race or an NPC character are responsible for their behavior therefore it is best if users that interact with such races/characters do it with the actual creator which would act as a moderator.

[[The list will go here in alphabetical order by race once the first set of entries is finished or I find the time to sort them out]]

STORY EVENTS

From time to time there will be story events that will be posted by some of the RP mods. These stories could have characters that haven't been submitted but will eventually make it into the RP's database. The purpose of these events is to tie up our multiple stories bringing order to chaos.

They'll have a header so it'll be easy to spot a story event when browsing through the RP.
