Alright so I've been playing a troll sham and I have it up to lvl 36. My friends told me that 100g would come naturally as I got closer to 40, but that's not the case. I only have 20g. :/

I thought questing would rake in adequate money, but it really doesn't. How can I make 80 more gold in time to afford my mount at 40 or at most 45?

At 45, you can farm wastewander people in the tanaris waterfields, (do not turn in the waterpouches: they sell for more than you'll get from them) you also get mageweave and lots of coin. There are FREQUENT chest spawns in the area they've always had a good chance of a blue worth 10-40g for me. If not usually a green weapon worth 1-2g or a grey one worth 1g. wink

I've recently found a good way to earn gold for anyone lvl 35 or so on the Horde. Go to Shadowprey Village in Desolace & go to the docks. Jump off into the ocean & go collect shellfish from the cages. Not only do you have a chance at Big Iron Fishing Pole, which the Allis will snatch up for as much as 30 or so gold (I've heard of 50g on some servers o_o), the troll fisherman on the dock will give you 55s for every five shellfish! If you're a druid, shaman or warlock, it's way easy to make some quick cash. :3

And yes, get profitable professions! I suggest herbology/ skinning.
