In the wake of the adventures, Rune had remained around the town for the time being, not yet ready to take his seal skin back up and return to the water, he had desided it best to take advantage of the sort of freinds one could make with two feet instead of flippers and a tail. There was a distinct lack of wonderful deep and salty ocean, but for the moment he was making do by trying to errect a damn in the stream to make a better spot to swim. All things considered, it was an impressive if only marginaly effective structure.

Flerida was soaring in the skies as she was most often been doing to relieve her irritation over the latest 'addition' to the household. She grit her teeth at the thought of Joaquin, silently cursing the lazy man as she headed towards the stream. She'd soak her talons there and allow the tranquility of the forest to soothe her, yes, that sounded like a splendid idea.
She was expecting everything to be as it were, her favorite rock where she'd sun herself while the cool stream washed against her talons. So imagine her surprise to find Rune building... what was it?
"What are you doing?" she asked, unable to mask the annoyance in her tone.

Up to his knees in water, and muddy from his elbows down with his seal skin half trailing in the water of the stream, Rune turned to give 'Ridi an absoloutely glowing grin, toting a large, muddy rock in his hands. "I'm making a dam." He anounced, cheerfuly. "....So it gets deeper. Then I can swim in it. It's not as good as the ocean....but this is closer." He dropped the rock with a clatter onto his crude dam, trying to find a good place to put it, but it was pretty clear that he didn't have any natural inclination toward archetecture. "Want to help?" he asked, turning back around and opening muddy arms wide, as though to embrase her or the entire stream, though at some level of self preservation he seemed to know better than to actually leap forward and try and hug the touchy bird girl.

Young boy about the age of 13 or so quietly sat in a tree. He was watching a boy build something. He couldn't quiet figure it out. He twitched his orange tail and ears. His crimision eyes shimmered in the sunlight. He hated the water so he was staying up in the tree. He kind of had a spiderman way of sitting in the tree. He then saw a bird or was it a harpie. Kinnara could really make out the difference. Kinnara waited a bit more. He wanted to see what was going to happen next before he would jump down and introduce himself.

((Hope you guys don't mind a 3rd party ^_^;; ))
And merrily singing his way towards the stream, little Bijin was blissfully unaware of his surroundings or whomever might be in them. Today's kimono was a purple silk with a beautiful white benu (pheonix) bird going up the side complimented by a white obi. He had a white flower in his hair as well, held in by a pretty japanese comb. His sandels were in his hand as he pranced around in his little bare feet.
"Sun over the mountain, can you see the bird I see. Sun over the mountain I want to fly over thee.
The bird flies so free and mighty, feathers so soft and pretty When will I fly like bird in the sky I won't really know until I try."
Suddenly he heard splashing and talking. He stopped his little song and slowly approached the other children. A bird like creature! How pretty! And that one in the stream, what was he making? A dam he said? For swimming. That would be nice! A little swimming makes you strong according to his Okaasan. But for now, being a bit shy, he stood next to a tree and just watched.

Ure, meanwhile, was pretending to be a bunny, despite the fact she was already a bunny-girl anyways.
Suddenly, a shadow overhead! HAWK! With a scramble that was very unrabbit like, she pulled a bed of pebbles in a jumble over her, cowering under the poor camouflage with a giggle. While a hawk was of no danger to her, being of considerably larger size to the bird of prey, a real bunny would be petrified.
When the shadow passed by, Ure dared to poke her head out from the gravel and look around. What she saw surprised her greatly. She gaped at the 'hawk' and her companions, then danced around with glee. "You're not a hawk! If you're not a hawk, what are you, ne, ne, nenenenenene?" She shoved her face at Flerida's, ooohing and aaahing loudly.
Then she turned her attention to the others, darting from Rune and Bijin with apparent confusion. "And what are YOU two? Ne? Ne? Nenenenenene?"
She had not yet noticed Kinnara in the tree.

The bright smile on Rune's face only made Riddy all the more irate. It wasn't that she disliked anyone being happy, but Joaquin had the very same smile and it just reminded her of the older Fable. She took a deep breath to calm herself down and listened to what the other Fable had to say.
A dam? To make the water deeper so he could go swimming? Flerida blinked as she processed the information, still deciding whether she would like to try such an activity. Were her feathers waterproof? Before she could respond a young bunny-girl was suddenly -and literally- in her face.
Instinctively, Riddy stumbled back at the lack of proximity between their bodies. Her face a bright crimson. "I most certainly am not a hawk, but I am avian in nature." she snapped, arms akimbo. And I seem to be surrounded by overly cheerful Fables. she mentally sighed.
"I am somewhat interested in learning how one makes a dam, so allow me to help. If you could just... explain what one must do." She turned to Rune as she began to fold her sleeves up.

Kinnara watched the bird girl roll up her sleeves. He then thought to take a closer look. He jumped down from his tree and into a bush. There was a bit of a russle in the bush he jumped down into. Though it sounded more like the wind then him jumping into the bushes. He had his body low to the ground and then proceeded to get closer while still hiding. He wanted to get a better look and hear things better.

Ooh, they seemed to be getting a lot of attention. Dam's must be wonderful things for making freinds for not-selkies. He wondered why Ravji had never mentioned that...or had he? He couldn't remember.....
"She's a 'Riddy." He explained, confidently to Ure. "Or thats what Ravji calls her. And me too. I'm Rune. I'm a selkie." He added proudly, stroking the seal skin on his shoulders with pride and fondness. "What are you? You can tell us while we work!"
He thought about Riddy's question for a moment or two, rubbing the nose of the seal skin vaguely. "Well the idea is that it's supposed to keep the water from getting out. So that it all fills up. Sort of like a cup. But my cup seems to not be made very well because the water keeps getting out. Water's pretty sneaky like that you know..." He added thoughtfuly. "You agree right?" He added, to Bijin, though he didn't know the boy. "Water is tricky. Hard to hold onto like a fish."

"A-rid-dy. Ariddy, pretty name, Ariddy! But which is yours, Rune or Aselkie?" She didn't wait for Rune's reply. "Pleased ta meet you, Aselkie!" Ure beamed with pleasure. "I'm Ure. What'choo working on?"
She listened with interest to the exchange between 'Aselkie' and 'Ariddy'. "Dam like a beaver? Can I help?"
In quick succession, she flung herself in a high backflip over Rune's head, cartwheeled around Flerida, then darted behind Bijin and forcefully leapfrogged over him to be back where she had started. "When we getting started?" she asked excitedly.

The young rabbit girl seems to baffle even Rune with her antics, and he ducks with a deal like bark as she flips around, staring at her with wide eyes as she settles back where she started. "...I already started." He points out, gesturing to the Dam that he's been trying to work out since he started working. "I put a lot of rocks together, but they fall down. And water gets through..."

"Anou? Um...."
Bijin was in a bit of shock at the sudden hyper bunny girl but he was quick to get over it and happily walked over to the other Fables. He bowed, giggling much like a girl. In fact he looked more like a girl today than he did when Aurora and Kinnara saw him.
"Ohayo! My name is Bijin. I am a new child to this place. You are building a dam ot make the water deep? Well, your rocks will not do well if you do not put something to stop the water from going between. Water is smart and will find any place to escape."
The small boy(girl) pulled up the sleeve of his kimono and took some moss from a rock and poked it into a hole between the rocks. The water that had been leaking from that hole was now stopped.
"Now the water is trapped."
He smiled softly and went to stand next to the bird girl whom he found very pretty. He also did not want to get his clothes dirty. He hated that.
"Ohayo Riddy-sama. Are you well this day?"

Kinnara was suprised to see the rabbit getting in the water. He hated the water. Espically when his ears and tail got wet. He then stood up and thought to himself, might as well walk over there. He then started to walk over to the other fables. He walked gracefully for a boy but it was still boyish. He then stood behind Bijin and let of a faint purr as his tail swished.

Ure pulled her ears down around her head, framing her face with gray fur. "Waaah! So many new friends, nice meeting you Bijin!"
Evidently she had already forgotten the task at hand. She was further distracted by a sound that was distinctly not the wind. Ure's ears flopped back up and swiveled around, the rest of her head soon following; then she jumped back over Bijin's head to tackle the cat boy behind. "Kiiiiin-ny~!" she squealed, dripping droplets of water all over him. "Haven't seen ya in such a long time! How you, ne, ne, nenenenene?"

"Riddy...." Rune asked, the Rabbit girl sprung away again with a distracted Zeal that made his distracted impishness seem downright bookish by comparison. "What does "ne?" mean and why does she say it so much? I was wondering if maybe it was something girls said, but you're a girl and you don't say it...so is it just her?" and to Bijin he continued. "Oh, I see! I don't know what Ohayo is...but Hello! I'm Rune! Will the moss stay? I'd ask Ravji but he's not here right now. Usualy I ask him questions."
