We all know that according to folklore, if you are drained of blood and killed by a vampire, you rise from the grave as one of the undead.
But did you know that according to Eastern European legend, there were other ways of becoming a vampire?
Joss Whedon got it right in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, as according to folklore, vampires were corpses possessed by evil spirits. In addition to being completely drained of blood by a vampire, other methods of becoming one of the undead included:
arrow Practicing witchcraft and black magic;
arrow Death by unnatural means, i.e. struck by lightning;
arrow Death by witchcraft;
arrow Having the corpse reflected in a mirror prior to burial;
arrow Having the corpse dropped onto bare earth before burial;
arrow Having a raven, crow, or other bird of ill omen land on the corpse;
arrow Having a black cat leap over the corpse;
arrow Being buried without proper funeral rites.
Note that any one of these events might not be enough to turn someone into a vampire. If more than one of these events takes place, watch out!

Darkness Is My Life's Blood Its not drained of blood though, Thats a myth, it must be give and take, they drain you and give you their blood thats how you become vampiric! Light Is My Deaths Curse

Darkness Is My Life's Blood You have a point as to the idea that "where the belief lies, also values the belief itself" but I was taught that Vampires drain you till you have the final drop, they cannot take that or they shall lose themselves, they then let you taste their blood turning you, however should they make you drain it, you become enslaved to them until they see fit to release you ^^ Light Is My Deaths Curse

Sounds like Ann Rice's books. But ive heard so many stories on vampire lore i dont know if there is a right theory.

Okay, we know how to create a vampire--but how do you destroy one?
According to my research in Central European vampire lore, the best way to destroy a vampire involved the following:
arrow Drive a wooden stake through its heart. Note that the wooden stake must completely pierce the body, pinning the vampire to the soil below.
This was believed to trap the evil spirit within the grave, preventing it from reanimating the corpse. Also, in some cultures the stake had to be carved from a particular type of wood; oak, ash, and hawthorne were considered the best.
arrow Decapitate the vampire and stuff the mouth full of garlic.
arrow Transport the vampire to a crossroads where a new grave has been made and blessed by a priest.
arrow Replace the head with the body, turning it face downwards. This was believed to confuse the evil spirit, preventing it from wandering as well as taking possession of another corpse.
arrow Cut out the heart (without removing the stake) and burn it to ashes.
arrow Fill in the grave and sow the ground with salt. While a priest gives the corpse last rites, scatter the ashes of the heart over the grave.
This was supposed to be the most effective method of destroying a vampire. Just think: if they had done this with Dracula, we wouldn't have had to watch all those awful low-budget vampire flicks! twisted

That doesn't sound quite right in all occansions. And I say that just because people have been drained of blood before by people and the now dead people never became vampires. I thought you had to drink the vampire's so-called tainted blood. Besides vamprisim is a real pratice so imagine what people who believed folklore who think of them, or what they would think of psyhic vampires.

There are several ways to make a vampire that you didn't list, the most common of them being a possession that was failed to be exorcised properly. Several of the early christian vampires were created this way.
In India, there are the possessed children of Ravana and the Yakshini. Those vampires are actually born as people, but are still monsters. Traditional methods of killing don't necessarily work on them, as they are more demons than vampires.

Also, being the seventh son of a seventh son can do it.
Anyone ever wondered what would happen if many of these happened, i.e Being a seventh son of a seventh son, killed by witchcraft, and then having a black cat leap over your coffin?

There needs to be an exchange of blood. I don't think vampirism is a saliva-bourne pathogen.
