((So alone in the BIG WORLD! *bricked*))
All right ... so first of all, he had no clue where he was. There seemed to be some kind of hazy green ... stuff ... interferring with his vision. Through it, he could see ... hallways. Lots of long, mostly white hallways that were very very empty. He'd tried to wave the mist away at first, only to realize he had no hands. Which brought him to the next point.
Second of all, he had no idea what he was. Aside from having no hands ... he didn't think he had a body either. He felt like he was just sort of ... floating. Which was decidedly weird. And he might have thought this was some kind of hell, except that there were none of the conventional hell-devices. Such as, oh ... fire and brimstone and demons dancing around. Purgatory, maybe?
Ah, and third point. He couldn't remember a damn thing about how he got here. He vaguely thought he might be dead ... but that was about it. And he knew his name ... Malachite. But nothing else. Nothing about his life or how he might have died. Nothing about who he really was. And it was irritating. Had he been able to, he would have sighed ... but that also required a body. So he simply drifted on, wondering if he was alone in this place ...

Efrain couldn't help but grumble, cleaning duty, that's what the note was about. Not about welcoming new arrivals, simply cleaning duty. A thankless job; muttering to himself, "Don't we have people to do this kinda stuff?" Mindlessly fiddling with the lint in his pockets, Efrain trudged along looking for one of the auras the note mentioned.
Efrain stumbled on the first one quite literally, when he tried waving at a puff of green smoke in front of him. He nearly fell trying to stop himself as he tripped over leaden feet, "Crap!"

Of course Malachite couldn't actually fall over himself ... but he floated back, and had he possessed eyes, they would have been wide and staring. Who ... what ... there were people here? As in, real people and not things like himself...?
Was there something wrong with him, maybe? Because he was ... like this?

Efrain did fall. He made himself more comfortable though and sat up on his elbows. He could grumble, he could complain, but Efrain was simply... un-amused. Perhaps this puff was a mute... Well, he was supposed to make sure it was safe in it's room...
Efrain rose to his feet, though he nearly pushed his kneecap aside, and began removing his jacket... to use as a bag! Efrain knew it wouldn't work, but he had a strong hunch this aura didn't know that. Of course, if it did, then he'd give diplomacy a try, but now Efrain was just out for a little (torment) fun.

Yue sedately walked down random halls of the Division. The talk with the Adjutant certainly cleared his mind from dreams but it also made him wonder about other things.
Crossing from one hall to another, the flash of red and purple caught his attention and he paused. The person propped themself up after they fell and unsteadily rose up again.
The person took off their jacket, and Yue suppressed the urge to say, "EH?". That was guy? From the distance, the long hair made the shinigami assume it was a female. But looking a bit closer, the arms were far too toned to be a woman's.
He wondered what the other man was doing, especially since he appeared to be alone. Debating with himself, Yue could not decide whether he should leave or find out what the other shinigami was doing.

"Listen here poof," Putting his jacket, Efrain approached the aura and start waving his hands within the green smokish stuff, "You are still a mass of smoke, you've got no strength to really move around just yet. Why not head back to your room huh?"
Efrain finished fiddling around nestled his hands in his pockets, "Sides, much more of that and you might just take on some of my better traits huh? Or just my watch..." He started to turn and check for his watch, but kept his eyes on the aura, "You know the way back right?"
((Ef has no idea Yue is there at this point.))

If he could have, Malachite would have blinked at that. Poof? Was that what he looked like? Just a mass of green smoke? Well ... that was a little depressing.
Great, and now he was being asked questions ... that he had no idea how to answer. Not only did he not know where this room of his was, but ... he also wasn't sure he could talk like this. Ugh. Well, no harm in trying.
It took him a minute to figure out that it was a little difficult without a mouth or vocal cords or anything but ... eventually he just imagined that he still had those things and he managed it. "No ... I don't even know what this place is..." he said, voice quiet and more than a little uncertain.

Efrain had to strain himself to hear what the aura was saying, the end result had him placing his faces inches away, "You're dead pal, you're in the land of the dead, chosen by the great robed one to watch over the dead and clean the division halls. Mostly to clean the halls," Efrain finished with squinted eyes.
Straightening up, Efrain began to turn again, "Your room 's in the West Hall. I've still another aura to check on, so you can follow me for now unless you feel you can retrace your steps."
"Oh.. and speak up, it's not as hard as you think."

Against his better judgment, Yue made his way towards the other shinigami. Except for the whisper of cloth from his cloak touching the ground, he was silent as his footsteps led him closer.
"Hello. What's going on here?" he curiously asked.

Another would-be blink. Oh ... well, ok that made sense. He'd thought at first that he must be dead, but he hadn't been able to figure out much beyond that. Slowly gaining a bit more confidence, he bobbed in the air as a sort of nod. "I'll follow you," he said then. Because, well, he didn't want to admit it, but he didn't quite remember where he had wandered out of to be able to retrace his steps. And he had no idea what the layout of this place was.
He was about to say something else when they were interrupted by another voice. And he found that he didn't even have to physically turn around to see the newcomer - simply direct his gaze to where the voice came from. He waited then, allowing the one who had addressed him at first to answer that question.

Once he was closer, Yue could see that the other shinigami was, in fact, not alone. He was speaking to what seemed like an emerald haze.
Yue parted his lips to formally introduce himself when he felt... something. It was hard to describe. A tug, maybe?
Whatever it was, it was insistent and demanded that he come. Now.
"Excuse me," Yue quickly bowed, and hurried down the hall. He had no idea where he was going or why he was going there. But it seemed as if something else was leading him there.

"See that?" Efrain turned towards the aura as he gestured towards the retreating figure and discarding a small piece of lint from his pocket. Doing his best to seem serious, Efrain continued in a 'as a matter of fact' explanatory tone, "If you can delay your response long enough, they simply go away." Whether the aura believed him or not, it was fun to imagine. Then again he could always have found the wrong aura at the time, but what were the chances? The halls are empty and the Division rooms are collecting dust, which reminded Efrain of the little addition to the note...
"The other aura I'm looking for is supposed to be in room N-something. We'll go look around for 'em. Afterall, not many auras floating around yet. Can't be too hard to find." Nope, it was a fairly good chance he had the right auras and he could match a color now to this one here. No big.

Malachite watched as the other Shinigami suddenly walked away, then turned his "gaze" back to Efrain. And he gave a little bob, a sort of nod, at the other's words. Wouldn't hurt to try to learn the layout of this place, after all ...

"Ah whatever, if I didn't see that other aura on the way, it's probably still in the room." Efrain grumbled as he began a swaying gait towards the center of the Meifu Building. "You're on the ground floor of the West Hall, smack dab in the middle. For future referrence. The Adjutant didn't give me a name, but for now, I'm gonna call you Poof. Don't mind?" Efrain barely gave a breath's moment to answer before continueing, "Good." Of course, it was rather rude of him to be talking, walking, and not facing his charge. He didn't have any particular beef against the fellow, except for the surprise he gave him. Efrain was still sore about being roused from his lazy indulgences, not to mention the implied cleaning duty on top of that. It'd have to get done, but that didn't mean he had to like it... but... "If you don't like Poof... I'll have to learn your name..."

"Malachite," he said quickly, sounding just a little bit annoyed at that sort of nickname. Now that he was getting a bit more comfortable in this place and the strangeness was wearing off a little. Well. He was wondering how good of an idea it was to just follow this guy around unquestioningly.
But he still didn't really know how to get back to his room, and it would be a good idea to know where things were. Though he wished that he was something more than just a poof of smoke.
