~About Eleos~ Name: Eleos'dikisi Aliases: Eleos, Leo (only tolerates this from Eos) Age: appears early-mid twenties Gender: Male Height: Weight: Hair: Blond Eyes: Blue Species: Jivvin
Mother: Unknown Father: Unknown Talents: Sword, very good at making tea
Distinguishing Features: Large white wings, white/gold ears Marital Status: Single Children: N/A
Likes: Reading, sparing with Eos, wandering around the gardens Dislikes: very few things (aka i can't think of anything)
Personality: He is very kind but also distant. While he is friendly to everyone and seems to make friends very well most people can not get close to him. It is not because he dislikes people it is just that he is very protective of himself and would be horribly hurt if he let someone close and they, well, hurt him.
He enjoys playing mind games with people and confusing those younger than him who do not know his tricks.

~Relationships~ Eos: Probably his best friend. The two have know each other for a long time and have become close. While he and Eos seem to poke at each other most of the time in unfriendly manners it is obvious that they only do it for fun.
Kuro: He met the red and black Jivvin once and managed to both confuse and anger the Llar.
Satou: He met her while she was digging in the garden soon after she had been allowed into the Village. Her reaction to his wings was interesting and he found rather cute. She was introduced to Eos and hopefully she will join them in the training at the Arena

Interlude in the Forest
An old song floated though the air as one wing curled around him. Slowly and carefully he checked each feather and pulled anything that wasnt supose to be in the out. He couldnt remember how long ago he had heard the song but he liked it. Somehow it reminded him of what it would have been like to be cradled in his mother's arms and sung to sleep.
As per usual, he was in a relatively foul mood as he landed in the clearing that was far enough away from the village that he would have a bit of time to himself... To think and to curse. He had been bested. Again. By that damned woman. Who did she think she was, kicking his a** like that?
: He pulled a leaf out from between to of his feathers as he continued to sing softly to himself. The day was beautiful and he was enjoying the cool breeze that danced though the trees.
"Arrhhh." He shouted as he drew his sword, hacking angrily at the air. It was foolish of him to act this way and he knew it. His frustrations would get him nowhere... Nowhere at all.
Hearing a shout he moved his wing and looked out over the clearing. A familier form, at least one he had heard of, appeared in his vision. Shaking his head he closed his wings behind him and slipped silently off the branch. Moving across the grass he watched the other move.
He did battle with this invisible foe, knowledge that in his mind it was the woman that had bested him he was fighting against once more. He replayed the entire thing in his mind, trying to figure out at exactly which moment he'd gone wrong.
His wings fluttered slightly, silent like the owl wings they resembled, as he watched the other. He was fighting a loosing battle, one he wouldnt win. How sad when one was fighting alone
He had himself corned beneath a phantom sword and it was there that he saw his mistake. His gaze had left his opponent's face.... And dropped to her chest. He closed his eyes tightly as he fell to the ground, much as he had then. She had laughed, as she usually did. "Damn her..." He growled. "Damn her!"
He tilted his head, wings settling to a comfortable sprawl behind him. "Do you really think daming her will stop the problem?" His voice was light, almost musicial, as he spoke.
He rolled to his knees, golden eyes gleaming as his knuckles turned white along the handle of his sword. "You..." His eyes narrowed. "What do you want?"
"I wanted something?" He had not said he wanted anything. He had been enjoying his day when the other had appeared and disrupted it. "I belive you are the one who wants something"
"Aye. I wanted to be alone." He snorted as he rose to his feet, dusting the dark material of his pants off.
"Then perhaps you should look before you leap." He had been in plain view for anyone looking. Had he wished to be alone he should have looked around before deciding on a place to vent his frustrations.
"I'll keep that in mind." He sheathed his sword before turning away from the other man, heading towards the woods.
He chuckled softly. "Did she prove herself to be a better warrior than you?" That would make sence if the other had been out here swinging a sword in that manner
He tensed visibly, wings rigid as he paused for a moment, biting his tongue only to trek on. Whoever the other was, damn him as well.
He followed the other slowly. His footfalls quiet but easily heard if anyone was listening. "So you shall find somewhere to be alone and replay the events in your mind. To what avail i wonder"
He would replay them in his mind so that he could learn from them, analyzing every mistake until he could be certain that it would never happen again.
He stopped under a tree and reached up to pluck a dying leaf from the branches. "You will make the same mistakes again. If only because you believe you are above them" How many mistakes had he made that way? How many more would he make.
"To hell with you and your thoughts. I will not make the same mistakes again. I did not make the mistakes I made the first time this time around. Bugger off."
"Did you win the first time?" His question was careful as he spoke, his voice soft.
He turned on heel, eyes narrowed. "You were there... I saw you, lurking just outside the arena... You tell me whether or not I won."
"I do not lurk. I was there watching just like the others." There had been many that day. If he kept his distance it was his own buisness to. "I would not say if you won or not. Some times winning is loosing in its own right"
"You were lurking." He snorted, as he turned away from the other man, trying not to let the flutter of his wings betray just how annoyed he was. "I was defeated. Humiliated." Humbled. Temporarily.
"Then you are developing a pattern." He nodded as he played with the leaf. "Anger does not win battles"
"Ah, so you are an expert on the matter?" He rolled his eyes, shaking his head once more before he continued walking away.
"I seem to have a better grip of it than you" He let the leaf flutter from his fingers.
His ears fell flat for a moment, tail flickering behind him. He wouldn't be baited by this other man. He refused to be.
"You seem to be loosing you're grip on many things." He could be wrong but people, even egotistical ones, didnt react like this if it was only one thing.
He took a deep breath, fingers curling before him, twitching with the desire to go for his sword. He wasn't going to give in. No. He'd just keep on walking. Walk away.
"Is your grip that loose? That you must go for your sword at everything?" He should not bait people around but one did not learn about others by sitting around.
He closed his eyes, taking another deep breath, letting himself ease into a strange comfort. "Piss off." He spoke with a grin, slipping further into the woods.
He chuckled and leaned against the tree. He had watched this one for some time and found him more intresting the more he watched. "A few words has never stopped me before"

Interlude in the Forest II
He really wasn't usually so backhanded in doing things but Eos needed to be taught a lesson. He'd been rather loose with his tongue lately and, well, Eleos didn't like that. So he had followed the other winged one throughout most of the day without the other noticing. Actually he's noticed by now but he cant find me. He almost chuckled but that would have given him position away
He had pulled his wings to him, letting them fade into his back with a flutter of feathers until all that remained of them were the tattooed markings of white, red and gold that seemed to shimmer as his feathers might have. His ears were lying back against his head and his hair had been pulled away from his face. He was a beautiful sight to behold in the water almost majestic.
He did have to admit that Eos was lovely, though the other would probably run him though for just thinking that, though knowing the other's personality did put a rather large blemish on his looks. Settling back into his hiding place he tucked his wings back and let them fade from sight. In all this vegetation they were sure to make a noise if he left them viable.
Few knew his true personality if any knew it at all. The facade he put forth was just that: a facade. It kept him safe from the cruelty that was the world, even if it put distance between himself and others. Out in the forest where he thought he was alone he had let that facade fade into nothingness, slipping beneath the surface of the pool.
He stretched one leg out and got comfortable. Eos could be at this for a while. Which meant he would get a chance to rest and a rather pretty show while he waited.
He swam slowly back and forth within the pool, finally coming to a halt not far from the falls. He cupped his hands together, filling them with the cool, clear water which he took a slow sip of before splashing himself in the face. It felt good to get away from everything for once... Felt good to escape.
His tail swished under him before he could stop it and the fluffy appendage brushed though some of the bright green leaves under him. He winced slightly as he heard the vegetation move.
He froze, feeling his defenses raise at the sound from the woods. He bristled visibly, ears drawing back against his head. Someone, or some thing, was interrupting his peace.
He pulled his tail up into his lap and glared at it. How dare it give him away like that. Looking back toward Eos he shook his head. Damn
His eyes scanned the line of the forest cautiously, looking for any further sign of movement. It could have been anything or it could have been nothing at all... Few came out this far into the forest. Pushing it to the back of his mind he took another sip from the falls before swimming back towards the shore.
He was well hidden so he was confident Eos's examination would look right over him. If not he could be gone before Eos got close enough to see who exactally it was.
He had left his clothes on the shore along with a blanket that he'd withdrawn from the satchel he'd left the village with. Still believing himself to be alone he flopped down onto the blanket, letting the sun filter through the leaves to kiss his flesh.
He sat up slightly so he could see where Eos had moved. Getting up, carefully, he moved though the leaves until he could get a better look at the other Jivvin. He didn't want to loose sight of him.
His eyes closed as he lay there, bringing one arm up to drape over his eyes so that he could block out a better part of the sun, letting his vision fall into darkness.
Walking out from under the tree cover he 'tsk'ed as he looked at Eos. Just laying there for anyone to see with no shame. "So unbecoming for a 'prince' such as yourself"
He bristled slightly at the sound of a voice... That voice. "Do you always approach those who wish for you to be anywhere but where they are? Have you no sense of decency? A warning would have been nice." He made no move to cover himself save for the flicker of a damp tail across his thigh. Let Eleos stare all he wanted. He could get his rocks off later to the image if he truly wished. He didn't care.
"You are the only one who seems to wish so greatly for me to not be around." He smiled his usual sweet smile. "And you seem to be the one with no sense of decency, i am clothed." His ears flicked slightly but his expression didn't falter.
"I was alone." His shoulders moved in a slight shrug and, although he responded to Eleos with words, he did nothing to acknowledge him further. "I see no need to cause myself discomfort of any sort for someone who came uninvited."
"If you were alone i would not be here." His smile, if anything, got brighter.
Such a pity that he wasn't looking at the other male's smile... Or paying anything other than his voice mind. "Then I dub you Sir Pervert the Lonely and place more shame upon your shoulders for not alerting me of your presence before I removed my clothes. As you did not it is your own damnable thought and I'll ask you kindly once more to be gone."
"Really now. I could find far better things to stare at than you." He shrugged slightly. "But .... i am still rather displeased with your attitude toward me in front of others. What you say to me when we are alone is one thing. You should leash your tongue when in the presences of others"
"Forgive me for not noting how well you kept your tongue to yourself." He felt a glare forming beneath his arm as his brow furrowed. "I said nothing to you that you did not deserve for the way you acted towards me. Learn to live with it and leave me be."
His eyes narrowed slightly but the other would not have seen it. Why he even bothered with Eos he didn't know, most days it wasnt worth the trouble. One day the other's attitude would get him in trouble, but it couldn't be helped, nothing he did made a difference. In his thoughts he forgot to answer the other.
He took the silence as a chance to speak onward. "You view yourself as above the law... Or the next closest thing to it, thinking that you act right whereas I am wrong. Banter between friends or foes is one thing... Disrespect before one who is not of the Village, or anyone else, for that matter, is completely different. I will not be disrespected by you, Leo."
"I did nothing to disrespect you." He snarled slightly. "And do not call me that" He had to restrain himself from kicking the prone one. That would not be in character and really rather beneath him.
"Oh, but you did." As he said that he decided to finally acknowledge the other male, pushing himself up into a sitting position. "You made a snide remark about a muzzle. You undermined my words despite the fact that I was right. You did disrespect me, Leo, whether you're willing to admit your faults or not."
He sighed slightly. There was no point in fighting about it. Eos was probably right, if someone felt they had been disrespected then they probably had. After all who could say better that they had been disrespected than the person themselves. "Forgive me. I meant no offense."
His tail flickered slowly beside him before coming to rest across his lap, shielding him finally from the other male's view. "Oh, but you have offended, Leo. You have also interrupted my peace without giving reason for doing so other than righting a wrong that was never made."
He closed his eyes for a moment before they opened again. The slight frown that had crossed his face replaced by a smile. "So i have. If i am that decremental to your peace i shall take my leave." He turned from the other and went to make is way back toward the cover of the plants and the forest.
"You're more than welcome to stay. I have no more desire to be here anyways." As he spoke he shifted forms, rolling onto all fours in order to collect his clothing and stuff it into his satchel with his nose. He could carry the bag easily enough and he would be harder to track in such a form.
He waved a hand dismissively rather than answering. As he reached the vegetation he slid into his other form and disappeared into the green. Eos could go back wherever he wished to have whatever peace he wished.

Do You Yield?
Hours had passed and he'd returned to the village... Returned, but not for long. It was only long enough to redress and collect his sword before taking flight. He needn't return until midnight patrol and before then he needed to find his focus. He touched down in the clearing where they had last fought, drawing his sword only to put himself one by one through the practice paces.
He'd returned to the village eventually and found out, perfectly by chance, that Eos had come and gone. It wouldnt be all that hard to find him, after all he prided himself on his abality to find the other winged one, so he set out in search of him.
He made his way, eventually, to the clearing and spotted the familier form of Eos going though his paces. "Dont tell me another woman brought you to your knees in the arena." His tone was light as he watched Eos.
"You again?" Much as before he responded to the other male with words only, doing little to let Eleos distract him from his movements. The paces were slow, each movement precise. His shirt had been cast aside and his muscles rippled in the dimming summer light.
"You expected someone else?" He moved away from the shadows of the trees and stood just out of reach of the other's sword.
"I expected no one." He brought his sword before him before lowering it to its sheath, stooping to pick up his shirt to wipe off his face before snatching his water pouch from a nearby branch.
"Perhaps you should expect people. I do seem to turn up when you least want me." He smirked slightly and fluttered his wings.
His own wings flexed as he watched the wings of the other male flutter. "You are putting words into my mouth, Eleos. I said you were unexpected, not unwanted. As long as you've brought your sword you are welcome here. I could use a bit of practice before rounds tonight."
He pulled his sword from its sheeth and rested it against his shoulder. "If you would like." He didnt have rounds that evening so tireing himself out with the other would be a welcome way to end the day.
He, on the other hand, prefered to go into rounds with a battle-ready mind... Paces were one thing but a spar was another. He bowed his head to Eleos before taking a 'ready' position.
He left the sword over his shoulder as he braced his legs. It was a normal pose from him, something that had gotten many a sparing partner in trouble thinking it would slow his innital move down.
But he knew this position well enough by now. They had sparred many times since his first mistake and he wouldn't make it again. He brought his sword around, meaning to catch the other male's thigh with the flat of his sword.
It was easy enough to slid the sword off his shoudler and bring it down to block the strike. It would leave him open for anything else for a moment but it was better than the alternative.
"You're becoming predictable, Eleos." He laughed as he pulled his sword back before his strike could be blocked, tapping his opponant's other thigh.
With Eos' sword down at his leg it was easy to slide his own up his opponants arm. "Am i? Shall have to correct that"
"Are we fighting, or dancing?" He snorted as he took a step back, bringing his sword up to launch an 'attack' at Eleos head on.
He blocked the attack. His face slid into the usual mask he wore when fighting with the other. Cool and calculated, eyes and ears allert for any sign of his opponets movements
He leaned against his sword, shoving off of the other male's blade before swinging it about again, this time with more force. Unlike Eos, his passion could be seen burning in his eyes.
He calmy and carefully blocked the blows as they came, sneeking in ones of his own as the moment presented itself. As they moved if the other's face came close enough, and he was paying enough attention, a spark coudl be seen in his eyes.
"Is that the best you can do?" He took in a deep breath, releasing it slowly as he took a moment to recover from the last blow.
"You know it isnt, it is just what i needed to do." He grinned slightly, the first break in his ever present mask. "Shall i work harder?" As Eos paused he pressed his own attack agianst the other
"To hell with what you believe is 'just what you needed to do'." He growled softly as he countered, parrying each of Eleos' blows with one of his own. "Give me everything you have, Leo. Stop holding back. If you hurt me it's my own damned fault."
"I will be disapointed in you if you let me hurt you. You're better than that." He chuckled and pressed his attach on the other. If Eos wanted to get beaten into the ground he could at least try
The sounds of their swordplay carried throughout the forest, metal against metal followed by the sounds of their breathing as the pace grew to something rhythmic; almost dance-like. All in all, without mistakes, they were perfectly matched move for move.
Most who challenged him in the arena were suprised by the skill he possessed. No one had ever seen him practice, save for Eos, and he was careful to not challenge the other in the arena. Hands sliding to a different grip he changed his moves slightly
Even if Eleos had challenged him in the arena he would have declined... At least if they weren't in public. Any chance to avoid being viewed durring a defeat was taken. His own sword was growing too heavy for one hand so he grabbed the handle with two, battling the other male back.
This was why he loved his lighter sword. He could use one hand far longer than Eos, though with Eos useing two his blows came down harder. They had not fought like this in a long time. His eyes began to glitter as they continued
The 'control' passed back and forth between them as they carried on. At times he found himself stepping back beneath the other male's blows but now, as their 'battle' raged on, he'd found the upper hand momentarily. Looking for a loop between blows he took a chance, sweeping low in an attempt to take Leo's foot from beneath him.
He caught one but one leg was not enough to bring Eleos down completely. It brought him down to his knees but from his knees he could easily bring the flat of his sword to the backs of Eos's knees.
He dropped to one knee at the blow, bringing his sword up so that the point rested against Leo's chest. His own chest was heaving with each breath, eyes afire. "Do you yeild?"
He had not learned to truely dance for nothing. A knee came up and knocked the blade away before his leg met the other's ribs. "Yield? Why should i yeild." He knew his kick would at least knock the wind out of Eos for a moment
The sword fell from his hands as he stooped forward; one hand going to the ground to keep him from landing on his face while the other hand came up to guard his ribs from further assault. He coughed once, feeling his sides ache as he fought to relax his muscles in order to draw another breath.
Sword left on the ground, it would be no use this close, he sent a knee against the other's chest to knock him over. He wouldnt let Eos catch his breath. If the other caught his breath he would loose his advantage.
He grunted as he was taken from his knees to his back, wincing slightly as he hit a bit harder than he would've liked. It would not end well if he gave up here... He had to regain his composure.
As he turned his sword slid back into his hand. Knocking Eos completely on his back he pressed the blade against the other's neck as shifted to sit astride Eos' chest. He was on the other's center of gravity, or close enough to it, to know he would be rather hard to dislodge.
Rather than pull away or attempt to dislodge Eleos he leaned against the blade, letting the tip nick at his flesh. "Go ahead. Finish me. What's stopping you?"
He turned the blade, metal catching on flesh, as he looked at Eos with bright eyes. It was not a look he had often, or ever, but it was there now. "There would be no advantage to killing you. Do you yield?"
He missed the look, caught up in his own wave of odd emotions and sensations. Never before had he felt such a thrill at defeat. "What if I do not?"
He pressed the blade closer, enough that it bit into the skin and started to aflict with Eos breathing. "Do you think you are in a possision to do anything but?"
His breathing had been altered from the moment he took a knee to his ribs. A blade pressing against his throat would do little to change that or hinder him. His hips shifted beneath the other male. "If I am to yeild I demand to do so with sword in hand. Not pinned beneath a man who brought me to my knees unjustly. Will you bring this to a fair end, Eleos?"
He looked down at Eos for a moment before moving. He grabed the other's sword and stuck it in the ground. Stepping away he turned and faced Eos. "Pick up the sword."
He rolled to his stomach, pushing himself to his feet while favoring his side momentarily. There would be a bruise of some sort tomorrow, no doubt. He pulled his sword from the ground, giving it a twirl before taking a ready position once more. Eleos would get the attack this time.
He came at the other carefully but forcefully. He would not think that a simple kick would knock him down completely and he would not think it woudl be easy to take him down, but he woudl take him down.
He brought his sword up to deflect the blow, feeling the muscles strain in his arm as he hefted the weight with one hand. He then aimed a blow at the other male's arm, hoping to knock his sword away.
He blocked the blow back and pressed his attach against the other. His mask had fallen, mostly, and his expression actually glittered with the heat of the fight
He was driven back with each blow until he found himself pressed against a tree, wings spread wide behind him as if they could keep his body balanced. His sword was all that remained between him and Eleos, metal crossed as his eyes locked on those of the other male, breathing hard.
He met the other's gaze as he pressed him against the tree. "Do you yield?" Eos could still disagree but it would be almost pointless at this point.
"Only if you do." He reached up impulsively, dropping his sword as he caught Eleos by the back of the neck, yanking him forward until their lips were mere inches apart, eyes still locked.
The flat of his sword pressed against the other's chest. "I do not need to yield to you." Eos would have never seen his eyes as bright as they were. He'd never let his mask slip infront of the other winged one
"Then yield to yourself." His whisper was dark and none save the man before him would have heard his words had they been in an arena made of anything other than the forest itself.
He pressed Eos harder against the tree. He did not need to yield to himself. He watched the other for a moment before he growled and took something he'd wished to take for years.

Wandering Minds
He hadn't slept nearly as long as he'd needed to... Not even close to how much would've been the proper amount for how long he'd been awake. After his patrol he'd returned home, flopping across his bed in hopes of easing the pain of tormented muscles... Muscles that throbbed in a reminder of all that had passed between he and the other angel. Angels had fallen from above the night before... Oh, yes, they had fallen hard.
Tucking his tail around his feet to keep them warm his eyes scanned over the page again. He hadnt noticed that he had technally read that page at least five times. His mind was on other things, things it shouldnt be paying attention to, things that it didnt need to think about
He wandered through the Village as a man without purpose, wings missing from his body as he sought not to draw attention to himself. The few who glimpsed him at such a late hour would almost think that they had seen a ghost, such was the haunted look upon his face. He turned, taking a path that wasn't intended... One that would lead him to a home that he had visted few times... Very few.
Visitors to the angel's home were few and far between. He lived on the edge of town and most people who wished to speak to him wished to do so out of the confines of his home. Almost everyone found him unnerving enough, they did not want to see if his home was as blank as he was. His mind though was not on visitors, it was lost in a field in the forest.
He glanced up as he stopped before a door, eyes widening in a slow realization upon noting whose door it was... It wasn't the door he'd thought it would be but often the mind did things it was not instructed to do. He brought a hand up, letting it hang in the air before finally bringing it down to knock upon the door.
One of his ears came up as he heard a knock. That was strange, no one had told him they were comming over, and people did not come without notice. Setting the book down he got up and headed toward the door. Straighing his robe he opened the door and his eyes widened slightly as he saw who was outside
What he saw would be the shadow of a man... A man whose brow furrowed slightly as light filtered from the door to his hazed eyes. He looked... Restless. Rumpled... Still dressed in the clothes he had last been seen in. His hair had fallen from the leather twine he kept it tied back with, lying in waves about his face
"Eos...." He stepped into the doorway and looked at the other. That was not right, Eos should not look as such. He was strong and always kept himself together.
"I..." He glanced down, stumbling over his next words. I don't know what I'm doing here. He didn't. What was he doing here? He couldn't think of the reason until he looked up at the other man, images filtering through his mind.
"Did you spend all night in that..." He looked at the other's cloths. "You...." He paused. Why did Eos seemed confused, he shouldnt, should he? "You seem troubled"
He snapped out of his daze momentarily, straightening out before the other man, ears flickering. "Of course I did... What else would I wear on patrol?" It wasn't his complete 'uniform'. His tunic had been left at home... His shirt was hanging open. He had tried to sleep.
"Generaly, i would think, you would not sleep in your patrol gear." He titled his head slightly. He reached out but pulled his hand back before he could touch the other. No, that would not do.
"I did not sleep." He blinked as he let his eyes linger on Eleos' face, ears drawing back slightly against his head.
His expression softened slightly. "You should be resting, not wandering around in the dark" Eos should be sleeping, or visiting one of his various friends. Not standing on his doorstep
His brow furrowed, ears flattening further. He had come here for this... For this... Why? His head dropped, words carrying traces of a bitter bite as he spoke. "Forgive me for intruding upon your peace. I shall take my leave."
He reached out without thinking and brushed a his fingers through the waves of the other's hair. "You are troubled Eos ... what brings you to my door?"
His eyes closed as the other man touched him and it was all he could do to keep from leaning towards the gentle brush of fingers. "If you know not I see no reason to speak further of it. An addled mind brought me to your door and weary feet shall lead me away from it..." He turned, leaving that air of defeat hovering with his words. He was a fool with foolish notions flirting with his mind.
He took a step forward and wrapped his finges around Eos' arm. "Come inside and sit down. I will get you some tea." Something told him he could not let Eos just walk away.
His nose scrunched as he tugged his arm half-heartedly against Eleos' grasp. ".. I don't like tea." That was all he could say? Not 'No, I have other places to be where those who are there want me to be so without question'. Just the truth. He didn't like tea.
"Then i will get you some coffee." He had some around, he drank it on occsaion when he wanted to finish a book rather than sleep in the middle of it.
"Why would you serve me coffee after stating that I should rest?" His brow lofted slightly as he turned, glancing at the other male.
Because i wish you to stay. "You would not take the offer of something to calm you. Shall i find you a glass of wine instead?" He didnt take his hand away from the other's arm
"Tea is tasteless. Coffee will keep me awake." His eyes lifted, finding those of the other male as he spoke on. "No, no wine... I am not in need of drink."
"Then what are you in need of?" His usual mask had not been set completely in place, it usually wasnt that late in the evening. His eyes were concerned as he looked at Eos
His own facade had faltered in his sleepless state, eyes closing as he let loose a soft sigh. "Something to still my thoughts. Rest... A place to lay my head."
"Come inside Eos..." He had a spare bedroom. He could find Eos somewhere to rest.
He nodded slowly, permitting himself to be escorted into the other male's home without argument. It was uncharacteristic of him... But he wasn't sure that he cared anymore.
He shut the door behind them and led Eos down the hall. His home was quiet and almost soothing. He made his way toward his extra room thinking that he could still get something for Eos, perhaps hide the tea under flavors, to help the other relax.
Yes, the home was soothing, but his pulse had skipped a beat or two as he was led. Relax? How could he? He should have been able to... Afterall, here Eleos was acting as if nothing was amiss.
Acting was exactally what he was doing. He was trying desptraly not to let his hands shake, he was not speaking for fear of saying something out of place. Opening the door to his spare room he motioned for Eos to procede him in. "If...if you wish. I can find you something else to wear, something more comfortable?"
He shook his head slowly as he entered the room. "I'll not inconvenience you any more than I already have Eleos'dikisi." The other male's full name slipped from his lips... He never used it, but he did know it.
His shoulders stiffened slightly. It was rare he heard his full name, most people couldnt even dream of pronouncing it so they never tired. "It is no inconvenience." He unconsciously brushes his fingers though the other's hair once again. "I will bring you something..."
The old language of the other male's name flowed easily from his tongue. He knew it well but, in truth, he prefered calling the other male the name that only he called him... The name that brought a flare to his eyes that wasn't often seen. This time his head did wearily lean towards Eleos' touch. "If you must."
"Sit down. I will return in a moment with something." He disapeared from the room. He had something around that would be Eos' size. Soft pants and a clean shirt, then he could get Eos' cleaned and make Eos rest.
He carried the clothing into the spare room to take to the other. "Here ... these should fit. Is there anything else I can do for you?"
He had sat down on the edge of the bed only to find himself lying down upon it not long after Eleos left the room. By the time the other male returned he'd made himself comfortable, booted feet hanging off the edge of the bed so as to not sully the covers.
He set the clothing beside Eos on the bed. "Eos ... come, get out of thoes cloths before you fall asleep." There was something in his voice, affection maybe, as he spoke
"M'not going to fall asleep..." He raised one brow, eyeing Eleos from beneath heavy lids. "Just resting for a moment."
"Just resting leads to sleeping. i've brought you something clean to wear." He looked down at Eos, eyes softer than usual.
"I'll pay to have your bedcloths laundered." Loosely translated into: 'I'm not moving'. He wasn't. Suprisingly enough, he was quite comfortable just lying there, listening to the other male's voice.
"It is not my bedcloths i am worried about." He shook his head. "You must only move for a moment, you will be far more comfortable out of your patrol gear"
"Don't tell me you're worried about me, Eleos..." A slight smile touched his lips, ears tilting towards the uuthli. "I am comfortable."
There was a pause, almost as if he had even stopped breathing. Then i will not. "Ruin your comfort for a moment, it will be far better than if i have to strip you myself"
He kept his face straight but his cheeks tinged a pale pink as he pushed himself into a sitting position, saying nothing more.
"There.....are you sure there is nothing else i can get for you?" He still though a cup of tea would help Eos but the man was stuborn enough to not take the offer.
He shook his head slowly as he removed his shirt, revealing a few scratches from the evening woods as well as the imprints left by the other male's fingertips... He let the fabric fall from his fingers, reaching for the shirt that Eleos had brought only to cover himself once more.
He turned his head quickly as he noticed the imprints of his fingers. Getting up he just managed to stop himself from twisting his hands together. "Shall i bring you a book perhaps? Or do you think you can relax enough to sleep by yourself?"
He managed to keep himself from frowning, tilting his head down so that the other male could not see his eyes. "Books do little, if anything, for me." And the moment you leave I will begin thinking of you again.
"Then shall i leave you to your rest?" He turned to look at Eos again. He didnt know what more to say. He couldnt ask about the afternoon and the more he stayed near the other the more he wished to ask
"If you must." He wouldn't ask the other male to stay. If he was determined to leave than so be it...
He paused on his way to the door. "Are you sure there is nothing else i can do for you?" Why was he hesitating? No, he knew the answer to that.
He looked up to the other male, eyes saying one thing before closing: Stay. "I would have you do nothing that you would not do of your own free will." He spoke slowly with a strange smoothness as he reclined on the bed once more.
He took a deep breath and walked back over. He sat on the edge of the bed and looked at Eos. "I would not want to stay if it would hender your rest"
"And what of your rest, Eleos? You look as if you've gotten as much sleep as I... Have phantoms been running through your mind as well?"
He closed his eyes for a moment. "That they have..." Phantoms run though my mine often though. It was nothing new, nothing he had not delt with before
"Then perhaps you should rest as well." He nodded slowly as he shifted on the bed, making room for the other male to lay beside him. Amongst the troops it was not uncommon to lie in close quarters when space was limited. It would be no trouble now.
He should return to his own bed to rest. He should go put his book back and tuck himself into his bed. He should not be streched out on the spare bed beside Eos, yet he was.
His eyes closed as the other male took a space on the bed beside him, body shifting slightly in order to find comfort while trying to keep his arms to himself.
He curled up against the pillows, tail draping over his legs as it was want to do when he slept. He would just not think about it and get rest
His tail, on the other hand, flickered slowly behind him before flipping up to lay against his leg... And Eleos' leg as well. It wasn't much and he tried to think little of it.
He shifted slightly. Not, as he told himself, to being him closer to Eos but to get more comfortable. Yes, that was it.
That was it indeed... Eleos' movement brought him close enough that he could somehow justify slipping his arm around the other male, letting it lay there just as loosely as his tail did over his companion's thigh.
He told himself it was nothing. People moved in their sleep all the time and it wasnt uncommon for someone to grab onto something warm.
He was warm enough despite the cool evening air that taking hold of something warm mattered little... But that didn't stop him from pulling Eleos close enough to lean his head against the other male's shoulder. This... This was much better.
He really couldnt lie to himself. He knew what the other angel ment to him, he'd always known. Somehow, now, Eos must know also. He settled back against the other as his mind started to drift
His breathing slowed even as his heart skipped a beat or two before aligning itself with the beating of the other male's heart. He could sleep like this... To hell with what tomorrow would bring.

Good Morning
All in all, he had slept soundly after pulling Eleos into his arms, resting his head against the other man's shoulder only to drift off onto a sea of sleep. He had no idea how much time had passed when he awoke, shifting slightly while one eye opened partially.
He had not expected to be able to sleep with someone else that close to him but soon after closing his he had fallen asleep and stayed asleep throughout the night. He was still lost to the waking world and even the movements of the other didn't wake him
He touched his nose gently to the other male's neck, letting his hold upon him loosen momentarily only to tighten once more. "Leo..." He whispered softly, lips brushing against his companion's ear.
Usually at the mention of his hated name he reacted instantly but this time he was too far lost to sleep. His only reaction was to stretch slightly
The name was more a pet name of sorts than anything else... One that he called the other male because he knew that no one else did. "Leo..." His hand lifted, trailing slowly along the other male's cheek.
He shifted again before his eyes slid open. "....you know i do not like that name." He tilted his head into the touches conscientiously
"Aye, I know." A slight smile graced his lips. "But it is my name for you."
He took a deep breath and managed not to say anything embarrassing. Shaking his head he looked at Eos. "Only you dare call me that"
"Rarely, if ever, in front of others... It wouldn't be the same if everyone knew my name for you. You wouldn't bristle nearly as much when I called you it."
He smiled slightly. Only two others had ever called him 'Leo' and both had earned a sword to their throats for it. Word traveled fast in the village and no one tried to call him that again. "Everyone fears using that name ..."
"Would you have me fear you, Eleos? I truly believe you would think less of me if I did." He nodded slowly, letting his eyes close once more as he regretfully began to pull away from the other male.
"That i would." He shifted again and sat up slightly. "You know you have little to fear from me."
"Little to fear and much to caution." He nodded slowly as he looked up to the other male once more.
"As do i from you." He tugged his robe back into place from where it had twisted while he slept.
He was half tempted to reach up and push the robe back into it's dishelved place, but he resisted that urge well. He felt as if there should be words between them... But there were none.
He turned his head for a moment and looked out the window into the morning light. He could not think of what, if anything, to say to Eos. Did anything need to be said? Turning his gaze back to the other he smiled slightly.
He reached his hand up, trailing it slowly alongside the other male's face as he pushed himself into a sitting position. "You're smiling... That's a first. Spent more than fifteen minutes with me and you're still smiling. I should go before your mood is ruined."
Would you prefer i showed you nothing?" It would be easy to let his mask slip back into place. After all he was known for it.
"I would prefer you show me everything." He spoke smoothly as he shifted from the bed, gathering together his clothing. Let Eleos interpret his words as he would.
He shook his head slightly as the other's attention was no longer on him. He had always kept himself hidden, it was in his nature, Eos was granted the honor of seeing most of him. Though he supposed that wasn't enough.
He paused, turning back towards the other male for a moment. He closed the distance between them easily enough, stooping down to, oddly enough, brush his lips against those of the other male.
He reached up as the other leaned down and brushed his fingers over Eos's cheek.
There were many things that ran through his mind... 'Come to me tonight' being only one of them. He kept it to himself as he stood, tail flickering slowly back and forth behind him. "Do no forget our practice plans, Eleos. I will see you bright and early tomorrow morning."
"I will not forget." He had never forgotten one of their practice sessions. Not since their first crossing of blades.
"I'll return your shirt then." He gave it a slight tug, letting a smile curve his lips as he turned away, making for the door.
He slid off the bed and straightened his clothing before setting about making the bed again. He didn't really need the shirt back, it didnt fit him anyway. It fit Eos far better

Training Practice and Sprained Wings
He had spent the morning leaving rather large red marks on a few trannies. The sword master had asked him to come out and show the brats that it took more than a few weeks with a sword in your hand to be able to call yourself good. Now he was being used as a test subject for the teacher to show the students the proper way to fight. It wasnt something he generaly enjoyed doing but at least the teacher had been kind in asking.
He had taken a seat in the arena to watch Eleos take the trainies through the paces. His father had put him through his own when he had been that age... At least, he thought, these young ones would be taught properly. His wings folded against his back only to disappear as he leaned against the row of seats behind him. Comfort was always something to look for.[
He had decided to help the other winged tranies and was showing them how they could use their wings for extra balance and movement. In situations where he should have fallen over when taking a blow he could use his wings to keep himself up and also use them to give him extra speed to his step. Many of the other trannies though it was an unfair advantage but he knew that useing what you were given was hardly an advantage.
After a moment longer spent watching he stood, climbing his way down to the 'battlefield' in order to approach the group. He let his wings form and moved slowly, attempting to blend in with the others as best he could.
"Now you see. They are only an advantage against someone who does not know how to over come that advantage." He nodded at one of the students who had said it was unfair. "Nothing is an advantage toba skilled swordsman. Take you for example. You are more muscular than me. That should be an advantage but it is not."
He smirked. Muscles were an advantage if used right. He had proven that before. Muscles strengthened the blow... For once he kept his thoughts to himself, letting Eleos talk on.
One of the students comment along the lines of Eos' thoughts. "Yes. Given an opponet that knows how to use their stregnth properly it would become an advantage. But, remember, being fast overcomes stregenth. Heavier blows take more time to pull back from." He smirked and nodded. "You would have noticed this had you been paying attention to the match between myself and your master"
"Would you care to give your students a demonstration, oh great one?" His brow lofted as he found himself unable to bite back any further comments.
He turned his head and looked at Eos. He raised a brow and set his hand on the hilt of his sword as he remembered long ago in this same arena a sword fight when Eos had been a student. "If you believe it will not take us hours."
"You have somewhere else to be?" A grin tugged at the corners of his lips as he stepped through the students, letting the metallic ring of his sword sound as he drew it. "It won't be long... Just a brief demonstration."
"They do not have all day to be out here on the field." He drew his sword and set it on his shoulder. "I shall be nice to you .. show them that my wings are not an advantage"
"As you wish." He bowed, twirling his sword slowly before taking his stance. He would give Eleos the honor of first attack.
Changing the grip on his sword he used his wings to push himself forward. Instead of muscle stregnth he could use the power of his wings to give his attacks extra weight.
He countered easily, keeping his wings folded tightly against his body. Leaving them fluttering about was creating one more space to attack and he wasn't about to allow that. He twirled the sword once more in his right hand before swinging at Eleos, pushing him back.
He balanced himself with his wings and pivited to strike back at Eos. His wings were spread on either side of him and flexed with his movements to keep him light on his feet.
Despite his height he moved easily on his feet with the grace of a man half his size. He twirled about, 'landing' on both feet off to the side of Eleos where he would have a clear shot at tapping one of the other Jivvin's wings.
His wing pulled away as it was tapped and he swung around on Eos. He didnt attack but guarded himself instead.
He had taken on a feral stance, watching carefully now that Eleos was aware of his exposure. He feinted once to the left before aiming an attack at the right.
He pulled is wings in tight for a moment and blocked the attack. It would have knocked him over had his wings not snapped out once more to balance himself out. That way he could hold the block and not damage himself
The block was good and the balance was brilliant... But it took time and, in that time, Eos was able to use his speed and strength to land another flat-bladed blow on the other's wings.
He wasnt able to hide a wince as the blade struck the joint of his wings. Pulling them against him he held his hands up to signal a forfit.
He managed to keep his face void of all emotion as he dropped his sword to his side, bowing to Eleos once more. Mentailly he cursed himself... He hadn't meant to hit that hard.
He turned to the students again. "You see. They are only an advantave against someone who cannot fight against them" He nodded at the teacher. "if you will excuse me." He could feel his joint complaning and needed to take a look at it before seeing what needed to be done.

Dirt, Wings, and Swords
Saty puffed out her cheeks as she held her breath. This was hard work, but she was here... she was in the village and she was allowed to be here. That was all that mattered right?
Her hands ached from all the blisters that had popped up, but they had told her to dig up this flower bed. So dig she did...
But it was hard work. "This sucks."
Shaking his head he walked though the village heading for the gardens. Eos was once again proving his power in the arena and he'd decided to let the other have his fun. He could only put a dent in the other Uutli's pride every so often without repercussion.
Humming softly he fluffed out one wing before tucking it back behind him. He would have to clean them later if he didn't want them hurting. Satou looked up for a brief moment, and in that moment she saw a light haired wild jivvin man walking down the path... this was normal... but she had happened to look up at just the moment that he had spread one wing out to inspect the pinions there... and that was something that she'd never seen before.
The ruffling feathers caught her attention and snared her eyes from her gardening. The wing was amazing in both size and ... and size! But then it would have to be, it had to carry a grown jivvin man...
She was staring... Staring with her mouth open.... staring with her mouth open and dirt on her hands and face.
He almost hadn't noticed the female kneeling in the dirt but after looking past her and then back he smiled. She was, well gaping, at him as he tucked his wings back to where he could walk easily.
"Hello. Are you another they've gotten to dig in the dirt for them?" His voice was as sweet as he looked but there was something under there that spoke of the trouble he could get into.
"I uh..." She stammered. "It's..." Wait... what was she doing? "Can you fly?"
And then she realised that she was acting insane. She scrambled to her feet and hurridly brushed the dirt off her (or at least tried to) "I mean... um... Yes." She sighed and gave in. "Yes I'm digging in the dirt. I was told to dig in the dirt and here I am. I'm kind of new here in the village and so I get the nasty tasks." Digging wasn't particularly nasty, but when the area had played 'litterbox' to some unspeakably large animal, then it became nasty.
"I'm Satou." Her face said plainy that she was both amazed at the size of his wings, and embarased at being caught in the dirt starring at the poor man.
"Yes as a matter of fact i can." He spread out his wings for a moment. The gold on the feathers glittered slightly before he pulled them back. "Though i would not suggest it in such proximity to buildings. I am Eleos'dikidi, though you may call me Eleos"
That was always kinder than letting people suffer trying to pronounce the whole thing. No one ever got it right for the first few hours. "Digging in the dirt can be productive. Nothing would grow if there was no one to tend it."
She nodded slowly, eyes wide. His wings were... Damn. "Satou..." A small part of her brain kicked her as she realized that she'd already told him her name. "Saty... Satou, Saty... Saty's the short version... um... obviously." she sighed inwardly, and looked down at the dirt. Nothing would grow... "So they tell me. I'm just trying to do it right. Just to make sure that I'm not... you know... considered lazy or worthless or anything." She flexed her thumbs... thumbs were nice.
"You're Uuthli right? Do all Uuthli have wings like... um..." She pointed "Like those?" She hadn't been very social back at the Center, and the only Fourther Uuthli she'd talked to there was Jack... and Jack's wings were... not there any more.
He walked over and picked up a seed from the grass beside the flowerbed. "They are rather picky about who they let stay in here, i would take it then that you were not born here? Perhaps born to that little building out of the forest?" He had met one from that place. A rather nastily tempered red Daewl.
"Yes, we all have wings like this though the size depends on our size. My friend Eos's wings are larger than mine." Then again he only came to Eos's shoulders so that made perfect sense.
"Yeah... um... the Center." She paused. "I came here to live in the village since I'm unbonded... They asked me a bunch of questions and then they gave me a crystal." She smiled, it couldn't be helped. "I've always wanted to... to have thumbs." Her grin widened as she flexed her thumbs cheesily for him to see.
"It must be nice to be able to fly.... But I bet your wings are heavy. And if you say that your friend's wings are even bigger I bet his are even heavier." She watched his hand with the seed in it.
"Ahh so they changed you." He nodded at that. He'd heard that it could be done but he'd never met one of the ones who had changed though the crystals.
"Actually they are rather light. Then again i also was born with them." He'd always figured that the Uuthli were lighter than the others since they were able to fly. It would make sense for their bones to be lighter. "Were the weight taken away i would be rather unbalanced"
She laughed quickly as she pictured him falling over forwards and then stopped just as quickly as Jack popped into her head. That was rude of her. One shouldn't unintentionally make fun of one's friends. Especially when they had as few as Saty did.
"I think I would feel vulnerable with wings." The thought came to her suddenly, and she said it before she could think about it. But she really did feel that way. "I'd be scared to lose them... or break them, or damage them.... they're so pretty." They might be just as harmful as helpful in a dangerous situation... "Have you ever been in a fight? A serious one?" She was interested in knowing if he thought his wings gave him an advantage.
He chuckled. This was the exact same conversation he had taken part in with some of the younger Jivvin training to use a sword. "They can be both an advantage and a disadvantage." He nodded. "They give you extra balance in strange positions but yes they can be damaged easily."
He rolled one shoulder and remembered when Eos had caught his wing with his sword and almost broken it. "Every advantage has a disadvantage and vice versa"
Satou nodded. So he had been in fights... and probably training as well. "I look forward to some kind of training." She hadn't asked about if and/or when she would be consisdered for training, but she hoped... "I'm hoping that digging up the flower beds is just a set up for bigger and grander things." She ached to learn anything and everything about Jivvins, especially fighting. But that was in her blood.
"Everyone must start somewhere." He looked around at the other flowers. "Some of the richest people have come from nothing but dirt." He smiled at her for a moment. "If you do seek training do not let Eos's slivery tongue sway you."
Eos would have smacked him for that but thankfully the golden Jivvin was not around to hear him.
"Eos's slivery tongue"... She wasn't sure what that meant. "Eos is your friend with the bigger wings?" Surely this angelic looking Jivvin had no trouble making friends - he was probably not even refering to the same person as he had been earlier. "Does he like to fight then?" She couldn't help but think that if anyone would offer to teach her to use a weapon and think quickly in situations then she could put up with silver tongues.
"Yes that is the same Eos. We have a rather .... unique relationship." He looked back in the direction of the arena. "We have known each other for a long time. I helped train him with a sword and now he keeps me on my toes. He would hate it if i lost my touch and he had no one worthy to spar with"
"Spar..." Someday. Weed more dirt and then someday. She promised herself to ask the Sargtlin next time she saw him.
"Funny that you should want to be one your toes when you could fly..." It was supposed to be a joke, but... enh. She really wasn't at her social best today. She felt awkward here in the village and meeting angelic jivvins with huge muscular wings, made her feel all gawky. She wanted to be powerful and self assured like Eleos seemed to be. Then maybe... No. She wouldn't allow herself to dream about things that couldn't be. A jivvin's bond was ultimate and sacred.
"Is that where you were just now? Sparring?"
"I much prefer walking to flying. Though it is nice to float around when the sun is not too bright." He walked around the flower bed and rested a hand on her shoulder.
"No, i had not gone to the arena today but perhaps i should. Would you like to join me? I'm sure no one would complain if you were to watch them swing their swords at each other"
Saty jutted her head forward slightly as if she had misheard what had been said. "you... What? Seriously?" She started to walk out onto the path and then realized that she was still carrying the hoe. quickly she turned and lay the tool at rest against the side of the fence nearby and stepped back out onto the path. She made a valliant effort to wipe away some of the caked dirt and mud on her hands clothing and face, but no actual progress. Still.... "Is it far?"
"No it is not far." He chuckled as he leg her though the village. "If they are practicing hard then you may even hear them before we get there."
If Eos was there it would be almost certain that they would hear the sound of swords before they reached the arena.
He was there... There wearing no more than his leather leggings and boots as he sparred against another Jivvin who looked younger than he was but looks were known to be decieving. His wings spread to catch his body as he was forced back with the sound of steel against steel. Curses were kept to himself as, today, he was trying his hardest to practice the lesson he needed to learn above all others: Curb. Your. Temper.
Satou did indeed hear the clash of weaponry as they neared the arena, and the sound was like music to her ears. She had always wanted to just hit something or someone... but growing up in a kind household with happy siblings and a loving mother and .... um... mother... Growing up there in the cabin hadn't made it so that she was justified in 'hitting things and/or people' . Once they neared the areana it became apparent that this was the place of her dreams.
And there, in his pants and boots, was a big male jivvin... She pointed. "That's your friend right?"
"Yes it is." He chuckled as he walked as far as he could without stepping into the arena. "Though i am surprised he is not cursing up a storm at the beating he is getting." Generally if anyone other than him was getting the better of Eos he could not keep a leash on his tongue.
He swallowed his frustrations, taking a deep breath before battering onwards. He'd be damned if that green witch hadn't been right... If he kept his frustrations in he could focus them on the attacks that he needed to make. One... Two... Step... Spin... Clank! A sword dropped to the ground. A sword that, for once, was not his own.
He looked the other Jivvin in the eye before lowering his sword and bowing. "Well fought. Come and find me if you'd ever like to find yourself beaten again." Cocky much? But of course.
Satou fought down a grin as she managed to hear Eos's closing remarks. It was rude and yet... fitting. Something she herself hoped to be able to say... though she could more see herself standing on the other side looking down at a sadly dented, dropped, and muddy sword that had once been in her hand. She fidgited slightly on her feet as she looked around at the jivvins practicing weaponry. There was a lot of trust going on here.
"He won."
"He is good at winning." Stepping across the boundary into the arena he smirked at Eos' back.
"Still as cocky as ever i see." Not that he would ever expect anything less from his friend. Were Eos not cocky he wouldn't be Eos. "Shouldn't you be taking a break?" If the golden Uuthli were shirtless that would mean he'd been out sparing for most of the morning.
"Most likely." He laughed as he sheathed his sword, turning towards the voice of his friend only to find his brows lofting. "Why, Leo, had I known that you were bringing a lady friend with you to the arena I might not have taken my shirt off..." That smile on his lips pronounced that as a lie. He would have anyways if only to show off.
He held his hand out towards the Jivviness. "Eosphorus... But you may call me Eos." He bowed, wings flaring slightly to balance him as he did so.
Satou grinned and immediately felt awkward. Damn. She didn't know what to focus on as he came towards her. No shirt, practical boots, long blonde hair, flaring wings... wings... She watched his wings adjust slightly with each step, much the same way that Elios' had. What had this new Jivvin man called him? Leo? She turned and stared at Elios for a moment and then turned and stared at Eos again... then...
Damn. "Satou." She blurted it out and thrust her hand out to meet his. "Satou... Saty for short." She smiled, and stil... felt goofy.
His hand came up on reflex to smack Eos for calling him Leo but he managed to pull it back before he did. He could get him back for it later where it wasn't in public. "Had i warned you then you would have made certain that your shirt was off"
He fluffed slightly as Eos turned his charm toward Satou. Of course he should have expected that and he had but that didn't mean he couldn't hope it wouldn't happen at least once.
He caught her hand, bringing it up to his lips to brush a light kiss against the back of her knuckles despite the dirt. He might be an egotistical jerk, but he at least knew how to treat ladies... Even if the ladies had been digging around in gardens all day. "It is, most certainly, my pleasure to meet you Satou. I had no idea that Leo had such lovely friends."
He turned towards his friend as he released the young woman's hand. "Shame on you for not telling me things like this, Eleos. Haven't I told you to alert me every time you meet such a creature? Especially ones that are new to the villiage?" Oh, yes. She had to be new. Afterall, he hadn't seen her around before.
She wrinkled up her face in confusion and mild shock as he lifted her hand to his face, and she was about to raise protest as to the whereabouts of her current hygeine but he was too quick for her.
"Yeah... um... I'm new. I've only been here for about a week." She extracted her hand with a slight frown. She had noticed that Eli's face had fallen slightly when Eos had taken her hand.
He sighed. "How may times have i told you not to call me Leo?" Doubtful Eos would ever stop but he could always hope. He really did hate the nickname.
"And if you must know i have just met her myself a few minuets ago so it wasn't as if i was delaying your greeting her." He rolled his eyes. "I spoke with her and then brought her here to see you as she seemed interested in the sword" He smiled at Satou as he spoke.
"As many times as I, in turn, must tell you that I will continue to call you such until it no longer bothers you. How many times has that been by now, my friend?" He flashed Eleos a warm smile as he made his way towards the bench where he'd kept his shirt, figuring it best to clothe himself sooner than later.
He pulled his shirt over his head, wings fading into nothingness as he did so. He then turned towards the young woman. "Ah, in the case, welcome to the Village. If it is swordsplay you are interested Leo here is certainly a good place to start. The Green Lady of this arena would also be a good place..." Even if she was a witch.
"Green Lady?" She glanced over at the shorter Jivvin to try and discern if Eos was joking with her. Truth be told she would welcome swrodplay with pretty much anyone, but there was one person in particular she wanted to learn from... and he wasn't here.... and he wouldn't be here. "Don't I need some kind of aproval from some kind of authority figure, a council member or something to get a..." she waved her hand at the arena... "Sword or something?" The word 'sword', spoken with the intent of implying ownership, just didn't sound right to her at all. She'd never picked up a sword in her life.
"One day you will just remember that i do not like it and cease calling by that name"
To her he said "A darling woman who left him on his a** once." He chuckled. "I believe she was good for him in a way." He remembered Eos after she had finished with him. The Uuthli had needed someone other than him to put him in his place.
"I doubt any of them would complain if one more person wished to learn. The village always needs people to keep an eye on things and the more that are proficient in the art of the sword the better"
"The Green Lady of the Arena is none other but our own Aleda." He nodded slowly, scrunching his nose as Eleos began to preach her wonders. If his friend was going to ramble than he was going off. "I doubt they'd mind as long as you voiced intrest in wanting one. Again, I would talk to the Green Lady about that... Only... Don't call her the Green Lady." Because that would be bad and, somehow, it would get back to being his fault.
He stretched out, fighting off a yawn before turning to the two. "You will have to forgive me, Saty... Leo... I do believe it is time for me to take a rest. Afterall, someone has to be up all night for the midnight patrol." Eventually they'd take him off of that... Hopefully.
Satou nodded intently at everything that was said. "Aleda." She knew Aleda... and depending on who she saw first, Aleda or Lysuis, she would make mention of her interest in combat training.
Eos looked as if he had been training all day... and he looked tired. So it was little surprise when he excused himself. Satou turned back to 'Leo' and smiled sadly... "I really should get back to my dirt patch. Thank you for showing me this though."
"I should return to my books. I haven't had my cup of tea for the day." He chuckled softly. "Do speak to Aleda she will perhaps let you join the training." He nodded as his wings shifted as he turned. "It would be good to have another lady who could put Eos in his place"
"I am sure the flowers will be lovely when you are through with them." Bowing slightly he headed toward his home with a final wave to her. It was nice that the council had allowed one not born there into the village. Fresh faces were always welcome.
Satou grinned and mentally tallied her friend count up to five. That was quite the number, considering... She turned and walked back to her gardening supplies, thinking that surely tomorrow would bring her closer to realizing another of her dreams.

Wanderings of the Mind
Things had been a little bit more tense lately than he was used to, guard seeming a bit higher around the village with the news that had been brought to them. They were all on the lookout and blah, blah, blah. Tension was not something he felt like dealing with today so he chose to ignore it, heading to the tavern instead for a drink to bring home.
He had gone out and chatted a bit with some of the others around town so he could figure out what everyone knew. It was easier to be up on things that way than to have to find out later that he'd missed something impoartant. Since Eos's home was clsoer by the time he was ready to call it a day he headed there and sat on the porch to wait
He drank a bit amongst the others still at the tavern, purchasing a bottle for the road so that he could take it with him. He chatted here and there amongst the others, a soft smirk on his lips as he neared home with several delightful images in mind. He was suprised, to an extent, to find Eleos waiting for him.
He was brushing his fingers though his tail, getting tangles out, as he waited. When he heard footsteps he looked up and smiled.
"What brings you here tonight?" His brow lofted.
"I was on my way home and i thought i should stop by."
"I'm guessing news traveled to you as well? About the attacks in the woods?"
He nodded. "It did"
"It's got everyone in a huff... Seems like they're going to be upping the defenses." He smirked softly.
"So they going to make you work harder?" He smirked as he stood up.
"Anyone who volunteers for it, I'm sure. Better than sitting around doing nothing, isn't it?" His brow lofted.
"I dont know. I like my version of sitting around doing nothing." Though his nothing was usually reading
"I'm hardly like you in that though. I'd rather know what's out there than just... Sit around and wait for it to come to us." He snorted softly as he shook his head, stepping up onto his porch.
"And if you found what's out there you woudln't tell me?" He wasn't as young as he looked and knew he'd be better here protecting those inside than out in the forest
"A bit hard to tell you if I find it out there while you're back here, isn't it?"
"Not if you get the chance to come back. You know i would just be in the way out there"
He eyed the other for a moment, his gaze clearly saying that he disagreed but, rather than argue, he shrugged, turning to head inside.
".... if you would rather i not be here i can leave you with your drink."
"I wasn't planning on drinking it now. I just brought it home... And I just didn't feel like arguing with you. A first, no?"
"Yes." He sighed softly. "I know you disagree, but i feel older than my years some times"
"What's bringing that on all of a sudden?"
"Time i suppose. Some days it seems so close, and yet so long ago, that you were just the young upstart that i was training."
"So that's what this is about?" His brow lofted as he turned, leaning against the frame of his front door as he watched the other man. "I thought you'd left mid-life crisises behind you, Eleos."
"It seem's i havent." Things weighed on his shoulders some times. He had a long memory and the talk in the village stirred things he wanted left in the past.
Sighing softly he reached back to nudge his door open, stepping back into his home. "Did you want to talk?"
"I dont know if i would know what to say." he sighed softly before following the other
"Then don't say anything." He smirked softly. "Stay and have a drink or two."
"You know i can't hold my alchol." He laughed softly
"Who said that the drink had to be alcohol. I'm pretty sure I still know how to make tea."
"True...." He straightened his robe as he heded for the kitchen
"So would you like something to drink?"
"Tea would be lovely." HE nodded
"Would you like to pick what kind or are you going to trust my judgement?"
"I'll trust your judgement." He smiled as he found himself a seat
"Are you sure about that?" His lips curved into a smirk as he went to poke through his cabinets, prodding at various tea mixtures.
"So long as you aren't going to give me something horribly odd
"Do you think I owen anything horribly odd?"
"Knowing you? You just might"
He snorted at that, shaking his head as he pulled a jar down before moving to start a pot of water.
".... how have you been lately?"
"Bored out of my mind?" He smirked as he glanced at the other man. "Antsy. Waiting for something to happen... Like everyone. It's been rather same old here."
"I almost wish something would happen so that everyone would stop being jumpy"
"It's been that way for a while now, hasn't it?" His brow lofted slightly as he leaned back against the counter, eying the other male. "There's always whispers... And there's been moreso now than usual."
He noded. "which is why i wish something would happen. At least then it wouldn't be whispers
"I'm sure there would still be whispers... There are -always- whispers in these woods, Eleos."
"There wouldn't be whispers about what's out there lurking, at least not for a bit."
"Mm." He wasn't entirely sure about that, all things considered. There would always be someone who still pondered even when the unknown became the known.
"It would take peopls' minds off things ... or perhaps just my mind."
"I'm sure if you wanted to take your mind off of it you could go elsewhere fora time."
"I would be worrying about you then."
"You should know better than to worry about me." He smirked softly.
"I've been worrying about you for too long to break the habit now"
He turned to remove the kettle from the heat once it began to whistle, tossing the ball of herbs into it to let it steep. "I was a child then."
"You haven't been a child for a long time nad iv've been worrying about you"
"You shouldn't, you know."
"Because you can take care of yourself?"
"You don't think I can?"
"No, i think you can. That doesn't mean i wont worry though"
"You worry too much." He smirked softly. "Spending too much time with the Afya?"
"I'm old. I'm allowed to worry." He smirked.
He sighed at that, turning to poke at the tea.
"I know ... you dont like it when i mention being old."
"You look younger than I do, Eleos, and you act like you could be my grandfather. It's a little bit disturbing."
He kept the comment about almost being old enough to be to himself. "Would you rather i look my age? Or rather i act how i did when i was truely the age i look?"
"Neither. Forget I said anything about it and go on as you usually do." He set one cup beside the other male, contemplating dumping his own.
He closed his eyes for a moment before he stood up. "I shouldn't have bothered you, i'm sorry for wasting your tea." He should have juts continued on home eariler
He turned to look at the other, eyes narrowed into a glare. "Do you enjoy reminding me every time we speak of how old you are? Of how tired you are of things? Of how you aren't what you once were anymore?"
"No Eos, i dont." He shook his head as he moved to leave the kitchen. He should have known better than to come. He had thought he'd could talk to Eos about things, ease his mind, but he'd been wrong
"You're always walking away from me." He tossed his cup down into the sink, hot tea splashing up.
He visably winced at the sound of the cup crashing into the sink. "What else can i do Eos? I came to you hoping you could ease my mind, that you would remind me that how old i am does not matter ..." He turned to look at the other male, tears sliding down his cheeks. "And yet you sneer at me."
"You should know that it doesn't matter. It's never mattered; age doesn't here unless we let it and I don't know why you let it, Eleos. I don't. You focus so much energy into being one thing or another that you seem to forget about just being yourself; not old, not achey, just you."
"I am being me." He just wasn't good enough. He always did things wrong and always made Eos angry. "And i was thinking about things and thought i could speak to you about it."
"And now you're walking away."
"I'm stnading in your kitchen doorway actually"
"You -were- walking away and you always do this."
"I do not. I've been trying not to beause you always hate me afterwords."
"I'm sorry I can't understand why you're always worrying... Or why you always dwell on age."
"I'm not asking you to understand. I never expected you to, there are things about you i dont understand."
"I worry about you when you talk like that, you know."
"Shouldn't worry abut me"
"Why not? You worry about me."
"You tell me not to worry about you"
"So I do." He closed his eyes.
He sighed softly and walked over to run his fingers though Eos's hair
"What else am I supposed to think when you say things like that? Other than you might possibly be considering things I don't want you to think about?"
"What would i be considering? All i was thinking of was the past."
"You should stop thinking about the past... It's far behind us, Eleos."
"If it weren't for the past we wouldn't be where we are today. And you didn't answer me"
"If you think you're too old you might not want to be here anymore..."
"I wouldn't want to leave you Eos."
"Then why do you keep saying that you're too old?"
"I didn't say i was too old, i just said i was old."
"You're not old to me."
"I know i'm not." He smiled as he tapped the others nose. "Tha'ts why i can come to you when i feel like this. You remind me that i'm not"
He tilted his head, nipping at the other man's fingertip. "You're not old at all."
He laughed softly and tapped the others lips
"Do you feel old when you're with me?"
"Never." He shook his head
"Are you just saying that?" His brow lofted slightly.
"No ... you always make me feel younger than i am"
"Good." He smirked softly. "You smile more when you're feeling young."
"I smile more when i'm around you." At least so long as Eos wasn't trying to push at him for his thoughts.
