I feel really bad for Jacob, he loves Bella so much yet she only has feeling for him in a friendly/brotherly manor.
I know that Edward is her true and only love or whatever but couldn't she see that Jake loved her so much too? I know she noticed that he wanted their relationship to be more but she didn't feel that way.
I love Jacob Black almost as much as Edward but I think (because of my personality) that I would be furious at Edward for leaving me alone. At least Jacob was there for her and then she ends up crushing him even though he was there when she needed him and he even came back for her after he turned all werewolf and wasn't suppose to talk to her.
Jacob kept his promise (in my opinion) more than Edward did. Even though at the end wasn't sure anymore if they could be friends.
I love Edward and Bella together (don't get me wrong) but I just hated how poor Jake was used in a way because I've experienced what Jake has been through and it's not fun. I mean how would you feel if someone you loved didn't really love you the way you wished they would?
I hope Jacob get's a girlfriend or something. That makes him feel awesome and so he realizes that Bella was just a friend. xD I know that sounds stupid but I hope the best for him. Also, I hope they can settle the whole werewolf and vampire differences.
So what do you guys think?

That's not stupid at all. I feel the exact same way. In my mind Jake's right up there with Edward. He's such a great guy. He really needs his own girl, one like Bella only truly loves him. I think that if Edward didn't exist, Jacob WOULD be Bella's one true love.

I DID feel bad for him in the begining, and then the whole stupid personality change occured and I stopped caring about him.

Soulful Memories, I feel almost exactly the way you do.
I really do see Jacob as such a beautiful character, (I almost love him as much as Edward). While i read New Moon, sure I missed Edward, but I was glad Jacob was there. He's just awesome. I'm sure he sees that Bella belongs to Edward...
I see why he would get mad, REALLY mad if Bella was ever changed by Edward...as naturally Bella is one of his enemies.
IMO I don't think Stephenie should give Jacob a new girlfriend. As that would totally mess it up.
I do feel bad for him someetimes... He was simply used. Though I enjoyed those moments when he and Bella were close. Just used. And he has yet to get anything in return...except for pain.
To tell the truth...I don't think Jacob ever changed in his personality (though i miss dearly when he was that happy-go-lucky-sweet guy...though that can't happen...with situations like that we left off in New Moon) He seemed so real to me through out the whole book. And it was only natural that at first he avoided Bella and treated her coldly. He suddenly became a werewolf, he was also NOT safe to Bella. In the end...he let Bella figure it out with his help...
I must say that I didn't like at all when he pulled that stunt and brought the bikes to Charlie. His reaction to Bella telling him that it was Charlie setting 'visitor hours' was just...like "Oh". Nothing else...that got me twitchy. (XD)
But I feel for him, I can somewhat feel his pain. Its like i can see whats Jacob really going through...whereas Edward...I can't relate to him much....Perhaps I don't know what's he thinking...(That's why I want to read Midnight Sun)
Sometimes....I wish that Jacob and Bella really were together (please don't throw tomatoes at me....well anything for that matter)...But that wouldn't be out of love...its because Jacob's a replacement...

Um heehee yea....
It depresses me though. However, as one of you mentioned, I was kinda upset how he changed his mood and wasn't his happy self. I know the whole werewolf thing but still it was sad.
It would be kinda weird if Jake did get a new girlfriend but I just can't see him so inlove yet not inlove but I don't know.

I felt extremely bad for Jacob. He's such a nice guy, and even in Twilight I was thinking that if I couldn't have Edward, Jacob would be a good second choice. I didn't like his character change either, but you can't blame him; a lot more of him was changing than just his personality.
I dunno about him getting another girlfriend, but I wish he could find some way to be happy, seeing as he went from having a chance with Bella to losing her to the "bloodsuckers" again, and especially the one he knows hurt her in the first place. Furthermore, now he's discovered that Bella actually wants to BECOME one of them. It must be a very stressfull time for him, to say the least.
Of course, I want Bella to be with Edward, but I just feel bad for poor Jake. And so many people hate him too...

Yes, I really do agree with your ideas...
Why hate Jacob? Was him being a werewolf that bad?
And, please do explain the 'personality change'. He seemed the same ol' Jacob to me. The thing that changed, was that he was a werewolf...And well he's suddenly got a hate for 'bloodsuckers'. But does he not have a right to? But hey, Edward doesn't like werewolves just as much as Jacob doesn't like 'bloodsuckers'...What makes that difference?
He can't be his old happy self...because he can't. How can he? He's dealing with this stress, to get Victoria outta Forks! Bella suddenly (in his perspective) ditches him to 'save' Edward...I don't think you can really be his old happy self with so many things happening...He still had a hint of his old self in there, somewhere...I can feel it 3nodding

I really do feel bad for him, I guess. But, no matter how hard I try, I can't feel bad enough for him to make me want him to end up with Bella. Bella and Edward are meant to be, so . . . sorry Jake.
To be fair, Bella warned him in the beginning that she wouldn't ever love him like that, and he said he inderstand.
I think, that maybe (and this kinda goes for Edward, too), if they really loved Bella, they would tryto get over their differences, because it really hurts Bella when they fight.
Jacob is like here big brother that she can always count on, and Edward is her true love.
He's a good guy, really he is, but like I said before:
I want him to be happy, but he cannot end up with Bella. Sorry.

*looks at siggy of previous poster* Woot! I'm an idiot! Whew, for a minute there I was having an identity-crisis. xd Nice siggy by the way, two enthusiastic thumbs up. blaugh
Okay, I do feel bad for Jacob. He didn't choose the whole werewolf gig, that was in his blood. As for personality changes, it's perfectly understandable. Think about it, it's the werewolf in him, not the man. Were he not a werewolf, sure, he'd still be bummed by the fact that Bella chose Edward over him, but he would've been more supportive, I think, because that's the way he is. As it is now, he's very conflicted because part of him still wants that friendship with Bella, while the other part, the wolf, is feeding into it's natural instincts that have been passed down through the generations.
But, that's just one opinon.

I don't hate Jacob.
I like him a lot too ~ just like Bella does.
I feel bad for him ~ just like Bella does.
I don't know how to explain... I just feel whatever Bella's feeling.
He's not a bad character, I feel extremely bad for him at the end of the book, but, as someone else already said... Bella's in love with Edward. I'm in love with Edward.
It doesn't mean we can't love someone else too - just not in that way. With that kind of strenght.
I really do wish Jake gets to be happy. I hate to picture his angry, hurt face in my mind, the last that Bella saw him.
I just can't help but to kind of forget about that when Edward's there... it's impossible not to, you know?
It's her true love.

I absolutely love jacob and I had this weird desire of hoping that bella was thinking along the lines of what it would be like to be a werewolf. Jacob is really a great guy and I believe that if Edward didn't come back, if he didn't call on the phone. Those two would have kissed and love would have truly come into Bella's life, where she realizes that its more then just companionship with Jacob.
I really do like him and I hope that he finds someone who loves him, and not be afraid of him been a werewolf. I was truly rooting to have at least one kiss happen between Bella and Jacob.
As for personality. It didn't really change. He was just worried that bella wouldn't like him anymore for what he had become. But once he sees that she doesn't he really does revert back to his normal self. And with the changes, Bella starts to notice more things about him. Though I nearly cried when I read the part of him cutting off all his hair into a buzz cut. Why Jacob why!?!
