I need help! Geez. I'm in the levethon* and I have Ashe, now I have to get to the ships, buttttt I can't beat Ghis. I don't have another save game. And I do'nt have protect or blind, or any good magic. My characters are leveled 11-13. I don't know what's up. I just can't beat him, it's soo annoying.

Wow. So I'm stupid because I didn't want to waste space on my memory card? I'm glad everyone on this forum is an a*****e.

You can always throw all of your Quickenings on him. [for those characters that have it]. That's what I do in the beginning of a boss battle if I'm stuck on the boss.
If you run out, just run around. Make sure to have at least one character withe Cure magics. Also, I don't know if it helps, but when I played it, I equiped the Nethicite on one person [Balthier] But I believe it gives one person 0 MP. However, it has a good defense or Magic Defense. I equipped it on the Balthier who has no Cures, low attack, BUT high defense, so the person will be least likely to die when Ghis attacks. Simply, the person is there to use Phoenix Down on the allies when they wipe out.
I didn't have Slow, Protect, or any other abilities, and I did fine on the 3rd try. If you STILL cannot work it out, just level up. Walk through the lasers on purpose to trigger attacks and more enemies over and over again I did that for half an hour to level up before my third try, and then I beated Ghis. =D

Do you have any idea how many files one would have after the dungeons if they did that? What, 8 maybe 10? Please be realistic. This wasnt a cry for you to get off some steam, she was asking for help. gawd. talk2hand

Just have one extra save. Just one. So if you get stuck you can play that one, level up, kill whoever, then save at the next crystal, also over your first one. It's precaution, and it works.
FI know I'm late, but for Ghis, just use Quickenings for as many people that have learned them. After that, have one person constantly heal to others who will attack. That down the lackeys first; they are just annoying if you leave them.

I had problems with him too. I went and chain-linked the heck out of the mages and soldiers for some serious power leveling. If you saved back where the moogles were, just run out and stay in that general area, they'll come to you. When you're ready to go fight Ghis, just put everyone on Flee and just run to him. You'll take some damage though. Have somebody on a top-priority Ally: HP<50% or 70% Cure (I used Fran and her ranged attack for this since the heavier attackers were close and took all the damage). Get rid of his cronies first and then concentrate on him. Good luck!

This is what I did. It's a good idea, believe me, though I have never really found it necessary as I have never struggled to beat any of the bosses, save for one or two, but the second round I always beat them.

I looked when I loaded, and I DO have one other saved location. It's where you have to get people to think you're Basch. I think I'll level up... A lot, then go try to beat him. Hah.

As for the boss, I had to go back and level. I didn't use a old save file, to the best of my knowledge, but I did get to around level 15 or so before I fought him again. I think you have to take out the guards first, and then you can focus in on him. Any Quickenings you have should be saved for him once they're gone.

I'd say run around and lvl up if you can't find any other way to beat them.
If this helps he is lvl 14 has 4120 HP and is weak against no magic but he is also not immune to any magic.
Well I hope you beat him by now! Good luck with the rest of the game!
