Has anyone noticed that manga artists fall in love with a certain character?
Yuu Watase seems to always use a Tamahome main character and Kazuya Minekura (who is God, by the way) uses the Hakkai character.
Tamahome's template is used in Alice 19th, Imadoki and of course Fushigi Yuugi. The Hakkai type is used in all of the Saiyuki's, Araiso, Wild Adapter, Stigma and a variation in Bus Gamer.
The funny thing about all of this, is that I as well have a favorite type of character, a template of sorts that seems to invade all or most of my stories. Is this mere coincidence, or common nature?
By the way, Kazuya Minekura is God (repitition is not a coincidence it is fate xd ).

heh heh, i have noticed that, and also many of her characters tend to carry the same physical traits as Hakkai does - like the eyes, hair, ect, though, sorry to say, since i am not too farmilliar with her other work, i cant use any specifics ^^;; Many times i do the same, and there is one character i tend to play off of in all of my original stories, and for me it isnt a lack of creativity, i have just fallen in love with the character's personality, and they are fun to play around with - which is why i could see why Kazuya Minekura loves to mess around with the "Hakkai" character. Many others Manga-ka's do this too, such as Yoshihiro Togashi and his Kurama/Kurapika fettish...lol, and as you have mentioned, Yuu Watase does the same, as does Clamp with their male characters - they all bare strong resemblence in personality & looks to me.
well, if that wasnt a load of crap i dont know what is, anyone else have an opinion on the matter? ^^;; ((ha ha i think i pretty much just restated what you said, Kiyoki ^^; ))

Nah, it's cool. You're right about falling in love with a character... I just keep thinking about the character, and evolving and evolving the story line, untill it is a completely different situation, and a new story.... Sort of like wirting a fanfiction on your original story.... sweatdrop I do that with my fan fiction of other works... I keep thinking of the situation over and over again, morphing and tweeking it untill it's not a fanfiction anymore, but an original work. sweatdrop The characters have the same personality, but aren't themselves anymore, if that makes any sence...

yeah, it does make sense - the characters evlove & create completly new stories & situations, and sometimes even new characters. ^^;; i love to write, so sometimes i down-play it when i use the same character from my last story, but they always seem to be different, even if they started out the same ^^;; its funny how another fan can reate to this - i though i was the only one who really noticed that ^^;;

....well.....none of mine ever make it to the computer...^^;; the only one ireally have typed is posted under my journal...it is a short story i kinda had to write for english, but ended up likeing it so much i tweeked it a bit and put it in my journal.....otherwise i write longhand when im out doing stuff, or at school, or in bed, ect, but i never find the time to type 'em up. I have been typing up a Sanzo x Goku yaoi which i dont know if you'd be interested in, but it isnt finished yet. aside from that, i have started typing an original story which i will post when i finish...and i will let you know when im done by probably posting it under the forum here for fanfics ^^;; thanks for your interest, though! it really means alot!! i will let you know when i finish if you are interested...how about you? any of yours posted online anywhere?

o_O;; you guys really read my journal? eek well stop it'll rot your brain.... heh, but thanks though, im flattered, heh but there is really nothing special there ^^; i am a major Shakespere reader, and enjoyed your story. mine tend to be long, but if you are still interested i'll post a link to my stories when i finish in the guild under the fanfic topic, though i cant garuntee they are any good...^^; anyways i think we're getting a bit off topic here...^^;
