Today would be a good day. Caleb was certain of it. For the past few suns and moons it had been raining none stop. So the male was quite pleased to see that the great and blessed life giver above was shining when he awoke in the morning. A sunshine this great had been far too long. He was quite happy about this new occurance, and especially the way it warmed the fur on his back. He stretched and rolled over, warming his belly too. Finally when he was satisfyed and the cold collection that hung to his fur from the many rains was gone he stood up and shook himself a bit. All in an effort to start the day.
Caleb was an optimistic kind of guy. He always had been. He also enjoyed the freedoms the lands had to offer. He was content with living lives by HIS rules and that meant no others mattered. And right now his number one rule was to find himself some breakfast. And who knew what would be on the menu for the morning. Caleb certainly did not. He looked around, his eyes ticking from one section of the woods to the next, trying to figure out the best course of action to take. So much of the woods wildlife proved to be plentiful not to mention easily attainable and tasty. At least that's what he thought.
He decided just to let his paws be his guide and thus he began to walk in hopes that something would chance his way.

Fayina moved through the woods with a slightly terrified look on her face. Her head hurt, though no cut could be seen on it because the rain waters had washed away the blood. She'd hit it the other day, and when she'd woken to the sun today alls that she could think was... well.. that she didn't have much of an idea about anything.
But it was almost a nice feeling, because she was worried. Except that she had a feeling that she should be worried about something. She hummed slightly as she crept along, her mannerisms (though she didn't realize it) were still the same. Still moving like she was guilty of something.
Her ears perked and her humming stopped, though she couldn't hear anyone else. Just smell them. She moved toward a large tree and sat behind it, staring down the direction she thought the stranger might come form.

He kept the pace he was in, a slow steady trot as he continued his search for something of the edible variety in the woods. Titling his head every so often towards the side of him should something go unnoticed. Nothing ever did. But suddenly Caleb stopped and an ear flicked just as his tail did likewise. His sensitive ears heard the distinct sound of....humming? No, that wouldn't be right. That sound required someone else to cause it and Caleb didn't see anyone else.
He sniffed the air and then stilled again. His nose could not tell a lie. So what his ears failed to make sense of his nose told him that there was another wolf nearby. Decidely female. He lifted his head up, scanning the area. He certainly wasn't going to call this other wolf out. He would merely wait and see what would happen.

Fayina almost groaned out loud when she realized the smell was gone, but she managed to keep quiet. She blinked and her eyes slowly moved along the woods floor, ears flattening. She'd just smelt them! She wasn't going mad, was she? After a minute she leaned passed the tree, only then could she spot the male. She jerked her head back, nervous and still trying to figure out what was going on in her mind. Maybe he could help her? Or maybe she should slink away!
But before she could do either she had stood and slunk into view, her eyes meeting his. She didn't say anything, just stared wide eyed. Well this was certainly strange!

One front paw shifted after the other. Well this was certainly an interesting turn of events. He hadn't expected any other wolf in the woods. He knew some were around, he often heard the distant howls, but never did he expect to see one lingering around the small stretch of land he usually roamed. He curled his tail around one leg and decided to remain neutral instead of asertive or dominant. Afterall he wanted to hear this fem out. What if she came in friendliness and not in malice. And one should never be rash.
"Hello there," he said, trying to keep lighter tones to his vocals. "Lovely day for a stroll....isn't it?"

Her eyes narrowed in slight distrust, her last few run ins hadn't been all that great. Fayina was trying to teach herself not to trust so easily, it was harder than she thought it was going to be. "Hey... A stroll?" She looked around slowly and her two boney shoulders shrugged. "Perhaps nice enough to watch the sky but... walking is nice in any kind of weather." She always had to be moving. She wasn't sure why, but it was true. So why shouldn't she like strolls in all sorts of weather?
She slowly sat herself down, waiting for him to approach her. Her tail curled around her paws and she took two deep breaths, her head tilting as she looked at him.

His heart skipped a beat when he saw the fem's eyes narrow. He knew he hadn't said something wrong which meant that she was having trust issues. He frowned at that. "I suppose so," he said at her first phrase casually rolling his head up to look towards the sky. "Still all the same, I'd like my fur warm when I walk under the sun as opposed to my bones chilled in the rain..."
When she sat down he moved closer to her. Only a few steps as to not startle the fem. By the looks of it, she seemed to be one who was most cautious, so Caleb knew he'd have to walk carefully otherwise he might suffer a bite or two.
"My name is Caleb," He said, he opened his maw to ask questions of her. Who was she? Where did she come from? Did he mean her any harm? But he thought better of it and closed his snout.

Fayina tilted her head, as if she'd never thought about how the temperatures would actually make her feel on those walks. She seemed to think about it a little and then smiled faintly to herself. "My favorite walks are in the snow." She was feeling a little more calm, these were easying things to talk about that she could actually have an opinion about. Usually she found it hard talking about anything with strangers.
"Caleb.." She repeated, ears flikcing back and her face growing a little unsure. She had a name too! So why couldn't she think of it? She looked down to her paws, frowning. Was it when she'd hit her head? It must have been.
"Uhm well... I don't exactly.. remember my name.." She said softly, and her voice was guilty. As if it was extremely wrong for her to not know her name, or something. She didn't realize she could have just lied and said some random name and everything would still be okay...

"Mmmmmmmm the snow is indeed nice," he nodded, his tail now wagging slowly back and forth, shifting and moving some of the fallen leaves still left over from the rain.
"You don't remmeber your name?" he asked, cocking his head further to the side slightly. Oh what a shame, what a downright shame. "Well perhaps we should give you a name, just something I can call you by?" he asked hopefully.

Fayina blinked and then nodded her head. "Oh, please." She said softly, giving him the go ahead. Someone else naming her! That was so much easier... and somewhat familiar. Almost like Deja Vu, but not quite the same.
"What will you call me, then?" Her head tilted to match his own head tilt, it was an old habit and she didn't realize she had it. Especially not after smacking her head on a rock, you know?
"Do you belong to a pack?" She suddenly asked, looking weary. Her eyes glided past him and arond the surrounding woods.

He thumped his tail around hard now, so very happy that she liked his idea. At her own head mirroring his, he couldn't but chuckle. "Hmmmmm," he squinted his eyes a bit, as if studying her. "Fay, you look like a Fay." With a satisfied head nod he was most pleased with his choice.
At her next question he frowned. "No, I do not. I was born in the wild so that is where I stay," His own eyes ticked around the woods as he thought, "I've oftentimes wondered what'd it be like. I hear them nearby, but I've never had the courage to join or start one. I wonder if that makes me weak?"

She blinked and looked a little upset for a moment, if only because something in that name seemed to be tugging ever so lightly on a string attached to her brain, and she did not like when her brain felt prickly. But soon it passed and she give him a large smile. "Fay it is, nice to meet you Caleb." Her tail was slowly flicking back and forth too, like she wanted to join in on the happy activety but was almost reluctant to, as if wagging your tail was a bad thing!
Her eyes slid back to meet his own and she shook her head. "I don't think it makes you weak... something about packs makes me think they were bad..." She paused. "Are bad, still." Why did she feel this way about packs? Oh she hopped her brain wouldn't misbehave like this forever!

"Oh, the pleasure is all mine," he said, noticing her tail begin to wag. That made him smile. She was like his mirror, a mirror wolf. He grinned stupidily without really realizing it.
"I'm not sure if they're bad or not," he said honestly, "I've never been close enough to see, so I can't formulate a good opinion...but," he said sighed longingly, "The company of others does sound nice. Say," he said suddenly, "I was about to get some breakfast. Have you eaten? Would you like to come?"

To each their own, she supposed. She just had an eerie feeling about packs, she couldn't place it or get the vaguest memory of it. This was all so strange!
"Food?" Her ears perked on top of her head and she moved to her feet, stretching out her paws. Her tail seemed to wag a little more freely. "Yes... hunting is always good; good fun." She was nodding while watching him, and then slowly looked around. "I am sorry... I don't think I know these grounds too well. Are you famaliar with them?" It was always good to hunt on famaliar grounds... though she'd found that not much looked famaliar any longer.

"Yes, yes food!" he said happily, getting up as well and quickly shaking himself off a bit. He looked around when she spoke of the grounds and nodded just once, "I know these lands like I know my own paws, come I will find something that we can hunt togheter."
