It's not required that you make a journal, but if you do, it will be rewarded when you buy things. Such as::
::You can get discounts in the item shop.
::I may discount you on your next pet.
::When your pet breeds, I may discount you on the offspring you would keep.

This doesn't mean that I will give you just these discounts, nor does it mean you'll get them all, whenever you want. They are to be given away at my discretion.
However, if you've been maintaining a journal for a long time [a couple months at the very least], and I haven't seemed to notice when you buy things, politely post something about it in the thread. Cause I'm blonde sometimes. ninja
