Christmas, that holly jolly time of year where giving and getting are like yin and yang. Well this is a story of a Japanese boy named Tenshi Minshi. He was 14 and christmas was the eve of his birthday. Tenshi was a lazy one and blew off a paper until now that he could have done days ago. His girlfriend Piper had bought him a gift, from a nifty store called Twilight Designs and gave it to him it was a watch with his name inscribed on it. The watch had diamonds studded on it, Tenshi loved it dearly.
At around about 9pm he began work on his paper at about 9:03 he began to play his nintendo 64. Tenshi fell asleep infront of his TV on the couch and soon fell into a deep sleep and began to dream. Tenshi was in the park with Piper and they were walking the dog, well really Tenshi was walking the dog and Piper was watching. They sat down on the bench and Piper gave him his diamond studded watch. It was more of a flashback than a dream, Tenshi was in shock as he slipped it on his wrist and read the inscription. Tenshi wrapped his arm around her and hugged Piper, he truly loved her and the way it felt when he hugged her. All of a sudden Piper became a wisp of smoke, the smoke cleared and she was gone.
Tenshi jolted awake and sat up on the couch. Pipers dog was sitting infront of him on the floor and began to pee on his nintendo 64. Tenshi wasnt sure what he was more shocked by the dog peeing on his Nintendo or the fact he was there. "BAD DOG" Tenshi said loudly but carefully monitored his tone as to not wake his parents. The dog growl and his fur began to fall out rapidly until it was all gone. Tenshi's jaw dropped almost to the floor, then the dog became consumed by light. When the light dissapeared the dog was pure diamond and 5 times bigger than before, Tenshi had to shield his eyes as the light from the lamp was magnified through the diamond.
The diamond dog pointed its butt at the light and its now opened mouth at the nearby pile of firewood and concentrated the light on the pile of wood. "That dog started a fire in my house!" Tenshi said as he ran to the kitchen and filled a glass with water and repeated until it was gone. The diamond dog began to romp around yelping loudly. "How did you get here dog" the dog didnt respond "Why am I talking to a dog?" Tenshi asked himself. The clock struck 12 am and his parents came running down stairs. "Happy Bi-" They said in unison until they saw the dog in the living room.
"TENSHI" His dad yelled, "I dont know how he got here" Tenshi said back. "What are we going to do?" Tenshi's mother asked. "Is that a dog made of diamond?, "Yes father, can we move on?" Tenshi replied hastily. "Barb go get your jewelry cleaner and put it in a bowl, Tenshi got the powersaw" Tenshi and Barb went scattering off in different directions. They both reappeared at the same time, Barb put down the bowl infront of the dog and Tenshi handed his dad the powersaw. "Get him dad", "not quite son, not quite." Tenshi's dad said.
Tenshi's father ran upto the dog and ran the chainsaw through the floor and in a circle around the dog. The dog went through the hardwood and down to their basement, cold and cement basement. "What now dad?" Tenshi asked, "we figure out where that thing came from and get it back there, Barb drop that bowl of jewelery cleaner down there!" Tenshis father said, Barb dropped it.
"Dad this did start happening when I got my watch from Piper does that help at all? Tenshi asked. "Where are they from son? Tenshi's father replied, "Twilight Designs, there was a number on the reciept" Tenshi fumbled in his pants pocket and pulled it out and handed it over. "Lets not call the number we are making a return right now!" Tenshi's dad went to grab his coat and caught sight of the clock, "okay maybe when its not 12:43 am everybody off to bed now." Tenshi had no trouble falling asleep the events of the night had drained him severely.
The whole family woke up early that morning, they all packed into a car and drove to Twilight Designs. They all filed into the store and walked up to the counter, "let me do all the talking" Tenshi's father said. A store worker walked up to the counter. "We would like to return this watch" Tenshis father said pointing to the watch on Tenshi's wrist, and then signaling for Tenshi's watch. "On what grounds?" the worker asked. " On the ground it creates diamond creates from my girlfriends dog!" Tenshi blurted. "Do you have any proof of that?". "Well it didnt happen before I got my watch." "I see sir well we will come pick it up later today" the worker said. Tenshi's family walked out and filed into the car.
"Happy birthday to me" Tenshi said.
