"You're going the wrong direction." "I am not. I can smell those waterbucks just to the north." "And I'm telling you this is the wrong direction. The heat of the sun is coming from that direction." "If you want to lead, then lead," Monifa stated with a heavy huff. It wasn't every day that she had a fight with herself. Usually she got along quite well alone.
Food was scarce with the drought still plaguing the land, but it was better than the plague itself she had lived through. The blue lioness crept down low to the ground, trying to take cover in the tall dead grass as she moved closer to what smelled like waterbucks. Hopefully there wouldn't be anymore lions she'd run into during her hunt or she was likely to rip out throats.

(Ill post the images later)
Sabahive grazed lightly in a lazy manner. He never bothered to look out for himself cause he knew he had Kafele to count on. He wondered if he had done the right thing to have raised Kafele as a waterbuck. Kafele was now struggling to figure out the ways of his kind and Sabahive could not help him in the least.
Kafele watched Sabahive as he grazed he sighed slightly. What was he really? Everyone told Kafele he was a lion, but he felt more like a waterbuck. What was it to be a lion? Was it better then being a waterbuck and what had happened to his real parents. Where had Kafele come from? Kafele grumbled as these thoughts rolled through his head it was almost to much to stand.

Uma stalked closer, she had indeed finally caught the scent they had lost. She was low in the grass just waiting, listening. She could hear one grazing and another smelled dejected and sad. That would be the one she would go after. The weaker one. Remove the weak, the idiots first before going for something bigger.
She flicked her tail twice before bounding out of the grass, front paws outstretched before her, claws out at Kafele.

Kafele had been so trapped in his thoughts he had not seen, heard,or smelt any warning of Uma's stalking. His eyes widdened at the sudden sight of Uma pouncing towards him. Kafele tried to get out of the way, but Uma's claws hit their mark and for the first time in Kafele's life his insiscts took over. His claws extended as he attemped to smack the strange lioness off of him.
Sabahive had darted abit at the sound of quick movment but when he realized that it had not been for him. He turned quickly and ran towards Kafele and Uma. Sabahive not being brave only watched for now. Though Kafele was not trained to be a lion he was still very healthy and strong and Sabahive knew this.

Uma had landed soundly on the chest of... something. Then a great paw came at her and knocked her over to the side down on the ground. "Wait... this wasn't the usual reaction a waterbuck had." The scent of a lion finally caught her attention, but it was so... mixed up. She shook her head, the fluff of her bangs falling over a sightless eye, trying to clear the stun of the blow as well as the mix signals this thing gave off.
"Told you I had been going the right way." "Shut up." She growled low, not only for the fight in her own head, but at the strange creature she now faced and couldn't see. "What the hell are you?!"

Kafele stood strait now and shook off abit. The lioness's attack left him alittle stunned, but when she spoke he snapped back. "Im a lion....or so Ive been told." Kafele growled eyeing the stange famale. " What's wrong with you? Attacking me like that?" He said smacking one paw on the ground abit upset about this girl's stupidity or atleast he thought she was stupid the fact that she was blind never crossed his mind.
Sabahive watched the matter from afar trying to figure out what was going on. Something wasnt right with that lioness though Sabahive just couldnt put his hoof on it. "I dont know what is with her Kafele, but I dont think she is stupid either."

She pushed herself up off of the ground, turning her head in the offending lion's direction. Her face was angry, but she managed to keep a snarl from escaping her lips. He didn't know what he had near his paws. "I smelled waterbuck and you certainly smell it strongly. There is just a small trace of lion beneath all of that foul odor," she spat venomously.
Another voice drew her attention and she tentatively sniffed the air. So this was where the real meal was. She licked her lips a bit and moved slowly towards the waterbuck that had spoken and gave his position away. She thought carefully of where she put her paws, but first, she would need him to keep talking. "I am certainly not stupid. I can make that all too clear for you to see. You just fail to use your own eyes to see what is staring at you."

Kafele growledand jumped infront of the lioness. "Back off you low life killer. You attack me then go after my father. Im not a fighter but Ill take you down if you try to mess with him." Kafele then took what he thought to be a fighting stance with claws extended.
"I see, I understand you now lioness. You are blind and that is why you do not see the full grown lion that stands between you and your meal. Its not to many a lion or lioness that attacks me when they see I am being gaurded by my adopted son. Find your meal else where foolish female." Sabahive didnt mind speaking boldly as long as Kafele was there he knew nothing would happen to him, specialy since now Kafele knew he was a lion with the power to fend off preditors.

She couldn't help but snort as she made a slight circle around both lion and waterbuck. Did she hear him correctly call him father? This was going to be more enjoyable than she thought. "Even if I could see him before me, he will never amount to being a lion. He is no lion as far as I'm concerned. If he doesn't behave and smell like one, he's just another on the menu to me."
She directed her next words to Kafele, her voice growing low and poisonous. "You will never amount to any of the greater lions of the realm. You are just a poor excuse for one if you try to claim to be." She continued to circle, looking for an opening to strike at either one of them. "Perhaps you could act like one and try to avoid from being meat on the menu."

"Its not his fault. I told him he was a waterbuck. I raised him from a young cub, the rest of his pride...was gone so to speak." Sabahive had seen where Kafele had been living and it was one heavy hit by the deaths of entire prides of lions Kafele was lucky Sahbahive found him. "Besides Id love to see you try and take him down.He can think both as the hunter and the prey. As a waterbuck he was taught to see a hunters moves before they happen and as a lion he is learning to fight and bite."
Kafele growled lighty and followed her as she circled not letting his back become turned to her. " I have no interest in being a greater lion. And of course I am I only just learned I was a lion, so what is your excuse?" Kafele snorted at her almost starting to enjoy this. It felt better to him to stand his ground then running.

She couldn't help but snort, her lips curling into a twisted smile. "I see your plan on this, waterbuck... Try to build a bridge between the rift of meal and diner, eh? I doubt you could truly love him like a son with the fear that some day he might be gnawing on your hinds." She lashed her tail about violently, still not able to find an opening between her meal and this horrible excuse for a lion.
"No interest in being a greater lion? Pity. Though you don't even amount to being called a lion, calf," she spat. He thought he could make her angry by insulting her. At least she had never mistaken food for father.

"You speak of what you do not know lioness. At first it was nothing more than pity I took on him when he was a cub. The fact that you dont beleave I could love my son shows how closed minded you are." Sabahive snorted starting to have enough of this whole deal.
"Why is it a pity? Why do you care what I do? Why would anyone care? You may insult me as much as you like woman, but the fact remains I stand between you and your meal so unless you decide you are going to fight me. You best be on your way to look else where." He smacked one paw on the ground as a warning. Kafele wasnt taking his eyes off her for even a moment there was either going to be a fight or she was going to back down.

She could help but laugh as both of them seemed to get more angry. Electing that this meal would be too much hassle, she sat down on the ground, cleaning her face a bit with a large blue paw. "Come now. Temper, temper," she crooned with a throaty purr. "No need to get that mane in a tangle with those double horns. If you keep hanging around the wrong crowd you'll find yourself siring waterbucks and not lions."
