How long had it been, she wondered, since the last time she had appeared down in the lands of the Soquili? She had left to revisit her old home in the mountains, finding it empty and harsh as always, but also finding it to be a welcome relief. Now she had returned, refreshed and ready to face the world again. Her memory was faded as she tried to recall those she had known before coming here, only remembering the Soquili she was most close to: Hania, Aruna, and Mocha. She remembered faces for all the others, but she was unable to attach names to those faces... except for Ariston, that arrogant, physcial-beauty loving p***k. She'd find out where he was later. For the moment, she felt like looking around for her "little sister", Mocha. Although they didn't exactly like each other, it was sort of their way of saying they loved each other like sisters, and Shimshek wouldn't have it any other way.
Mocha's favorite past time was humming old Soquili songs she had learned in her days of being a filly, which were usually cheerful songs she made up herself. These days, she missed hanging out with her great-uncle Hania and her aunt Aruna but, well, she was grown up now and didn't need to be around them all the time. She also mused slightly about her brothers, Orion and Foxtrot, whom she hadn't seen since she was a filly. Thinking about Orion and Foxtrot brought her to remembering Shimshek, who she considered her "big sister" even though they didn't quite get along that well. Shimshek had left months ago to visit her old home in the mountains, leaving Hania to take care of Mocha since Aruna had left long before to find her mate and live with him. The teepee was now only lived in by the human girl Miakoda and Hania himself, who would sometimes venture out to visit his mate Mahiri. Mocha had heard rumors that Hania found another human girl who he claimed was very similar to Miakoda, who was going to rename herself. It seemed Miakoda's old name "Miakoda" was like a curse to her, and therefore... "Shimshek!?" she burst out, surprised to the the pearl-golden mare.
To say she was not surprised would have been like trying to lie to a gryphon, because it wasn't true. Shimshek was surprised. To have encountered her "little sister" so soon after returning, Shimshek was able to give a sly grin at Mocha and nudge at her. "You look the same as ever, Mocha! Long time no see," she greeted, silver eyes sparkling with her old, semi-arrogant self. She was a lot different after seeing her old home, but she was still the same. She could still drive other Soquili crazy, and yet somehow, she was still "kind" in a manner of speaking. "It's great to see you again after being up in those chilling mountains."

The lands had gotten colder, much much colder as the days went by. It seemed almost a pain to have to go through such a time as this. Did it always have to be this way when the so called 'winter' came around? Why couldn't only Spring and Summer exsist? Fall, too...seemed like a pain. The colors of the beginning two seasons were withering away and then completely covered with white...snow. Such an ugly, boring color. White. Even the sky seemed to be filled with white. Where did all the pretty colors go? The oranges, the purples, blue, pinks, yellows, and reds? Even black was better then white and that color only appeared at night. It didn't seem possible to have such amazing colors just disappear...so they had to have gone somewhere, right?
That's what the dark stallion had been pondering the first day winter found it's way onto the soquili lands. Even now the thought bothered him...none of it made any sense, and no one seemed to care. He wanted answers as to why this had to be the way it was, but no one was around for that. Could it be that he was the only one that truly cared for the pretty colors that the world provided them?
Bliss secretly hoped not. If that was true, though...how could everyone be so cold and uncaring? Those colors came with fun, and happiness. Those colors brought new life and love...if this winter season and this white snow was perfered...where was the stallion to go? He couldn't live in such a place that didn't care for the things that he loved in life.
He just couldn't stand by and watch the damn cold take over. Something had to be done.

As she caught up with Mocha on the latest Soquili news--wow, so many new Soquili had entered the lands during her absense--she was itching for a walk. It was snowy down here in the lower, warmer regions of the Soquili lands, and she hoped it would soon be spring, for she tired of seeing snow and feeling cold. As she walked, her moonstone hooves making imprints in the soft, white blanket, she grinned at Mocha who seemed fascinated with the annoyance. "Do you like snow, Mocha?"
Mocha shrugged as she tried to make a picture in the snow with her hooves. "I think it's interesting, but I miss the summer. Seeing white for months on end isn't exactly the greatest," she commented, following after Shimshek. She wondered if she'd get to encounter someone new today, since she had encountered plenty new Soquili since she had gotten out of the teepee. Her mind wandered a lot, she noticed, but then again, she didn't really care.

Purple eyes finally settled on a certain pile of snow and it made him grin to himself. First step to destroying the snow would have to be to destroy the large hills of it, right? Yes, that seemed to make sense. It always was...the biggest thing you knock down...IF that goes down...the rest will be easy. Smiling to himself for thinking up such a wonderul plan, Bliss trotted towards the snow pile and didn't stop.
He just ran right into it, getting himself covering in snow. The rest of it flowed down like a storm all around the dark stallion. "Opps." He said loudly, staring at what was now an even deeper section of snow. Perhaps that wasn't the greatest idea of his.
Bliss sighed, he couldn't do this on his own, he had to get help from someone. Anyone, now. He didn't care who the creature was, he just wanted someone to agree with him on the snow and want to defeat it's cold ways.
"Help! Help!" He cried out, hoping someone would hear him.

She perked up when she heard a male voice, shouting something similar to "help, help!" and looked around. "Did you hear that, Shim?" Mocha asked as she looked around until she spotted a huge pile of snow that seemed to be moving somehow. "There!" she trotted toward it, and called down. "Hello? Is someone down there?"
Shimshek rolled her eyes as she followed Mocha. "You know, it could be some kind of predator trying to trick us," she said suspiciously as she also peered down into the snow. She couldn't really see anything, truth be told. "Hello? If you're a predator we'll leave you! Don't try to trick us, now!" She said harshly.

Two female's voices filled the air almost directly after he shouted. One sounded very nice and playful, while the other one sounded much more mature and slightly annoyed. What could the two of them be up to on a day like this? Bliss could tell they were coming his way and tried his best to shake off all the snow, but he still looked like a silly snow-covered beast.
"Me!" He shouted back, unsure of who he just answered. Maybe they didn't want to help him get rid of the snow.
Predator? The stallion asked himself, blinking. The older mare's voice confused him greatly. What was a predator? A stallion? Just another nick-name for his own kind. Well, that was silly...why not just call him a stallion?
"I think I am!" Bliss called back, "And I'm not tricking you, I just want help!"

What the hell? was Shimshek's thought as the answer came back, and she shook her head. "That's not a predator, it's just dumb stallion. C'mon, Mocha, let's help him out." Still, though, she couldn't believe the stallion was so stupid as to make himself out to be a predator. Luckily for him, he didn't have the gruff, growling voice of a predator like a grizzly bear or a great wolf, so things were fine. "What manner of stallion are you anyway, to call yourself a predator?" she called, shaking her head in exasperation. And he said he wasn't tricking them? Well, he sounded honest enough, but Shimshek was very skeptical and, well, she didn't particularly want to deal with stupid creatures right now. Shrugging, she used her wings like sweepers to brush at the white cold flakes and said nothing more.
Mocha giggled at the answer as she, like Shimshek, began to use her wings to brush away the snow. "Shim, you're being really mean. Sorry about her, down there! We'll get you out in a few..." With a few last sweeps from both Wind mares, the snow fell away, revealing a dark colored stallion. Mocha cocked her head at the stallion as she somewhat hid behind Shimshek. She had been meeting a lot of stallions lately, but today felt a little shy because she was with her "big sister" and didn't really want to do anything on her own without Shimshek's "permission" (although she could; she was an adult) and merely smiled at the stallion. "Hello...!"

Dumb stallion. The words were soft and very hard to hear, but someone like the 'dumb stallion' was prone to those words. It just came to him, easily and those words flowed through him forcing saddness to overcome his normal happy ways. That wasn't the first time he had been called that and definitely not the last. But by a mare? Why? Why did she have to be so rude?
And why did she have to call him that in the first place, what did he ever do to her? Frowning, Bliss wondered if it was because of the word, 'predator'. Is 'stallion' not what that meant? "I don't know. I'm just a stallion. What is a predator?" The dark ignorant stallion responded back, feeling like a complete and total dork for even assuming what he had.
And then the softer voice came along with a giggle, and kind words. But this female was still with the rude one...even though she was being nicer, Bliss still wondered if a mean side was with her. Now moving his lips to respond to his female, Bliss spoke more...manly then he had before. "Thank you, miss. And you too." He said to Shimshek, standing up straight to get the rest of the snow off of himself.
"Hello to you, miss. I'm Bliss. May I ask who the two of you are? And what those are?" The dark stallion asked, nodding at the wings. He hadn't met a winged soquili before.

The surprising part about this stallion was his sudden transformation into a new personality. What? Did she say something that made him act like that? She shrugged a wing, thinking it was better for Mocha to take over. She didn't particularly care, anyway. She was superior, more beautiful than any other mare in the land (except for her birthstone "sisters", but she still felt she was more beautiful than they) and now she merely watched the stallion with scrutinizing eyes. Her silver eyes were not a hard silver, one filled with caution. Although she had relaxed slightly in the presence of this stallion upon hearing his answer, she still didn't trust him. She rarely trusted stallions these days. She nodded to him when he spoke to her, but otherwise remained silent.
Mocha cocked her head a bit at him, thinking he was kind of cute and silly before he suddenly seemed changed. Shrugging, she smiled brightly at him. "I'm Mocha, and this meanie over here is Shimshek." She blinked as he asked what her wings were, and then it dawned on here that perhaps this stallion had never met a winged Soquili before. "We're Wind Soquili, Bliss," Mocha explained. "These are our wings. It lets us fly like birds!" She chirped happily. "Oh... a predator is... um... a predator is a meat eater, Bliss," she said softly. "They... they eat our kind... they are bears and wolves and lions, unless they are tamed."

There were words to describe mares such as the yellow one in front of him...but none that the stallion could think of at the moment. Except mean, which was probably the best to begin with. She didn't seem to care about him...or about this situation and definitely didn't seem to want to talk. Perhaps she thought of him as an idiot and didn't talk to such creatures as himself? Well, if that was the case then she should definitely meet Bairn. Oh how much fun they would have together, making fun of Bliss.
Smiling at the two mares, the dark stallion did his best to hid the confusion and sadness that he got when the older mare approached. "Hello then, Mocha. Pretty name. It fits you well. And Shimshek. Your colors are very bright, my dear. I love yellow." He nodded slowly, completely forgetting about the fact that she was mean to him not seconds before that. Although, Bliss didn't care that much anymore anyways. These two were bound to be his new friends, he could just smell it. "May I give you both nicknames? I think those are so much more friendlier and fun. How about Momo and Shimey?" He giggled, they were rediculous nicknames for sure, but very cute.
Now, the subject of wings came back into his head and it made him c**k his own head. Wings? Fly? Like a bird? There were creatures that could actually do that? Sweet! "That's so cool! How do you get wings? I want some!" Just like the unicorn's horn, Bliss hadn't anything special on his outer self, only inner. Or at least that what's Mahiri kept telling him. Oh, well except of course his eyes. They were special. "Meat eater? Lions? Oh!" Bairn's familiar was a lion, but he didn't eat meat. That didn't make any sense, how could that be? Maybe this Mocha mare was wrong. "Tamed? Like..." He took a guess at the words meaning. "...hurt? Murdered? Killed? But no, I'm indeed not a predator then. I can't eat meat, it's gross."

She watched him with suspicious, cautious eyes as he spoke to her. Why was he bothering to try and make conversation with her? Stallions were not to be trusted after what she'd been through, and even then, she felt she was far too better than him in regards of titles; he needed to stop being so... ignorant, she decided, seeing that the word fit him best. And then something dawned on her; how cruel, and yet humorous... His name, "Bliss", and how he acted ignorant, was almost too... coincidental to be true. Ignorance is bliss. Is that how he was? Perhaps she could give him a bit of her attention, not much, but a bit. "You like yellow?" she cocked her head, and then came the nicknames. She narrowed her eyes. "Shimey? Oh no. We can't have that now, Bliss. You may call me Shim, or Shi, but not Shimey. Okay?" He giggled, and if she had eyebrows, she would have raised one, but as she did not, all she could do was step back and give him a skeptical look. What was wrong with this stallion!?
Mocha decided she liked the carefree, ignorant personality that Bliss had, and only smiled when he called her 'Momo'. "Momo's a cute nickname!" she exclaimed, more enthusiastic and, of course, more jubilant than her pearl-colored companion. "Heehee, Shimshek, you got called Shimey!" Mocha teased, eyes twinkling. She knew Shimshek hated being called anything that came close to the word 'cute', and would have rather preferred being called 'mare' if anything else; she liked her 'cultured, delicate appearance'; in other words, her outer beauty. Beauty in one's physical look was everything to Shimshek, as Mocha well knew. Her eyes glistened sharply as an idea came to her. "Yes... we can show you how to fly, Bliss," she said slyly, keeping a smile on her face. "But you have to play a game with us first," she continued, seeing a slow expression of horror grow on Shimshek's face. "Would you like to try playing it?" she also hoped the change of topic would keep Bliss's mind off of the topic of predators momentarily.

Nothing could be done to read what was going on in either of the mare's minds. They just looked at him...and his opinion, with blank expressions. Or rather, these two were hard to understand...hard to make out. One seemed amazed by his stupidity, the other...found it funny? Completely opposet personalities. Shaking those thoughts out of his mind to confuse himself less, the dark stallion nodded. "Love yellow. Love every bright color of the world."
Ah, so Shimshek didn't like the new name Bliss had given her...erm...Shimey. He frowned, it was such a cute name, why didn't she like it? "Alright, Shim. Shim's good but it's not cute, like you." This certain stallion didn't realize ever when he flirted, or when he said something that was out of line...it was all just talking, to him.
Turning back to the other cute mare, the more 'fun accepting one', it only made Bliss giggle like mad when she liked the nickname he had given her. "Really? Wonderful, then I shall call you Momo!" The dark stallion didn't understand why the nickname 'Shimey' was such a strange amusement to the two of them. Then the subject of flying came again, and it made him giggle only harder "Yay! I want to fly so bad! I would feel like one of those creatures...erm..." He blushed, which was easily hidden by his dark color. The name of the creature just didn't come to him. "Ooh! A game! Of course! What's the game called and how do we play?"
