Comet walked along the busy street. Or rather dragged. Pulling him along was Kotatsu-chan, who had finally remembered something Comet had never done. "Okay!" she said, stopping at a house. "Here are some flowers-" shoving a boquet into Comet's hand. "-A bowtie, and chocolates." Deidre..." Deidre, who had been holding Comet's hand so she could be guided and not look around at the asymmetricalness, looked up. "You look fine. Just... Try not to start twitching." Deidre nodded. "Make sure he doesn't run away." Deidre nodded again. "Okay, good." Kotatsu left and Comet watched her go.

Deidre managed to ring the doorbell and sit on Comet before he started to try and escape.

((That was fast. xDD))

A loud thump was immediately heard within the house, followed by several smaller thumps and finally what sounded like a body colliding with the door. Several seconds passed, and the door was suddenly thrust open with such force that it seemed as if a hurricane had blown it inwards. After all of this racket, one would expect to be faced with someone large, someone impressive, someone... Covered in flour?
"Hioooh!" The previously grey feline managed to get out around a mouthful of cookie dough. "Who arh yuh?" Seeming oblivious to how bad his speech was at the present moment, the cat stared at the two visitors, waiting for an answer.

Deidre looked up at the funny flour-person. He didn't look symmetrical. "I'm Deidre Bo-" Comet got up from under her, adjusting his bowtie. "Vilu!" he said cheerfully. "Remember me? Comet? Comet Bond?" He looked at Vilu. "I was just about to leave, actually..." Deidre stared at Comet. "Liar. Kotatsu said to see Milu." Comet was trapped. "Oh, silly me! Forget my own head next! Yes, I'm here to see Milu but it looks like she's not in so I'll just leave, shall I?" he said quickly. Deidre grabbed his shirt. "IS she in, Mr. Vilu?"

While the odd young cat with greenish-blue spots talked the larger feline into staying to see Milu, the flour-covered resident of the house managed to swallow his mouthful of cookie dough, leaving him as coherent as Vilu ever got. "Oh, you want to see Milu!" He exclaimed, turning and running back into the house abruptly, leaving the door wide open. He tripped over one of Mizuki's wrenches near the stairs, landing facefirst on the floor and leaving a large, Vilu-shaped pattern of flour on the dark blue carpet. Just as he got to his feet, he was met with a disapproving stare.
"Vee..." The now-slighhtly-less-flour-covered teen's twin sister said slowly. "How many times have I told you that the bag of flour is not for climbing in?" Though her voice was stern, her eyes told a different story as she glanced down at the flour on the floor in amusement. "You're not to-..." She trailed off as her gaze flickered past her brother and to the doorway, where Comet and Deidre stood. "Oh," she said quietly, quickly pulling off the flowery apron she had been wearing and straightening her hair.
Quick to notice that Milu's attention had been turned away from his antics, Vilu turned towards the door again, pointing at their visitors. "These people are here to see you! That girl's spots look kinda familiar, don't they?"

Comet bowed. "Good day, Miss Milu. You look as lovely as ever." After all, if he was going to see Milu, he might as well keep up appearances. "I was just in the neighborhood and..." "Kotatsu dragged him here." Deidre chipped in. Comet gave a weak laugh. "Ahahahaha... SHe meant Kotatsu was walking with us of course. She left before we got here." Techinically. "Oh, I got you some flowers. They're not as lovely as you of course, but I do hope you'll accept them..."

"So which one's my mom?" said Deidre.

Comet looked at her. "Milu of course! I thought you had seen how it worked from that book on the top shelf at home, you and Orca were only talking about it all-" He saw Milu and Vilu were still in hearing range and coughed. "It was Orca's fault. He finds everything he's not supposed to..."
PostPosted: Sun Dec 31, 2006 1:26 pm

"Ah... Haha, of course. How nice of her to... Walk with you," Milu said as she walked over to the door and accepted the flowers. She was feeling just as awkward as Comet appeared to be; She hadn't seen him since... Well. She hadn't seen him in a while. "It's nice to see you... And Deidre, my god! You've grown so much!" Bending over a little so that she was at her daughter's eye level, she resisted an unexpected urge to hug her. She still felt far too young to be a mother, and wasn't exactly sure what she was supposed to do. On top of that, she hadn't seen Deidre since the pound had taken her in a few weeks after her birth.
As this was happening, Vilu was still standing by the stairs, growing more and more confused. Mother...? Who was this kitten? Blinking and staring at her, he slowly began to realize that, though they were a different color, those spots did look awfully familiar... "Milu..." He whined, coming up to stand behind his twin, "you weren't really on a top secret mission that time you left for a few weeks, were you?"

Deidre looked at her mom and extended a hand. "Nice to meet you." She said formally. She still wasn't looking at Milu or Vilu as much as she could help it. "I grew symmetrically." she said proudly. "I'm symmetrical as much as possible." She looked expectantly at Milu, or rather, a little above Milu's shoulder since she was trying not to look at her, as if she was waiting to be praised. "Because I figured since Dad flirts with a lot of girls and everybody says that's bad, and he's only one person, being unsymmetrical is bad, so I never try to be unsymmetrical."

Comet rolled his eyes. He had hoped this wouldn't come out in the open yet. "She's a bit... bent on symmetricalness. It's cute. In a really creepy not-cute-at-all kind of way. If she looks at something asymmetrical too long her eye starts to twitch, look." He moved Deidre's head to look at Milu's spots. "If you keep it like that for ten or so minutes she starts wriggling and then in twenty she twitches." he explained. "But other than that, she's getting along very well, aren't you, Deidre?"

Deidre shook her head. "Santa didn't give me what I wanted for Christmas."

Comet sighed. "For the last time, a therapist wouldn't fit on the sleigh. Now let's talk about nice things in front of Mom and Uncle Vilu, okay?"

Milu took the younger feline's preoffered hand and shook it firmly, smiling up at Comet, since her symmetrically-obsessed daughter didn't seem to want to look at her. "She'd have to be a bit unusual, being your daughter," she teased. "Now come into the house, both of you; You look silly standing in the door." Stepping back to allow them room to get into the house, she waved a hand at the kitchen. "Best not to go in there, Vilu's... Obviously been making a mess. Living room should be a safe bet though, right through here."
While Milu had been distracted with her rather unusual family, her twin had retreated into the living room to sulk. Sitting on the floor with his back against Dras's favorite chair, he idly drew a sketch of something blue and blobby, not paying much attention to his actions. His sister had done something as huge as have kittens, and hadn't even told him! This definitely warranted some silent treatment time.

Comet followed Milu into the living room, but Deidre stayed behind. She thought her mom and dad should probably talk amongst themselves for a while. She'd come in when she felt it was safe. Meanwhile, she sized up her uncle. He was more symmetrical than Milu, and she didn't mind looking at him as much for that reason. He seemed upset. Maybe it was because he was asymmetrical. She peeked over his shoulder as he drew something asymmetrical too. "You're not that unsymmetrical, don't be sad." she told him politely.

Comet followed Milu. "Come on, even I'm not that unusual. You should see her in a mood, it's frightening." Deidre Bond in a mood was not something to mess with. As they entered the living room, he sat down and sat "Really, you are as lovely as ever." he said. "I brought the kids' pictures with Santa for you, too." He tossed them to Milu. "They're not great, Deidre was upset Santa's hat was asymmetrical and Orca said something very... naughty to Santa." Deidre was stomping on Santa's hat and Orca was being manhandled by an elf. "Still, at least the shots are natural looking. I'm afraid neither of them had any of our immense wit and charm rub off on them."

Vilu, so absorbed in thought and concentrating on giving everyone and everything the silent treatment, had no idea Deidre was near until she spoke. Startled, he looked up at her. "Oh, Milu's kid..." He said sulkily. "What's this symmetrical stuff you keep talking about?" Never having been one for large words, he had no idea what she'd been referring to this whole time. Still, she was a welcome distraction, and he put his crayons and paper to the side.
Determined to ignore Comet's continued insistence that she looked lovely (She wasn't going to fall into that trap again), Milu caught the pictures he tossed to her and flicked through them, cracking up as she did so. "They really look like... Kids. Lost in their own little worlds." She murmered as her laughter died down. "I still can't believe I have children... They look like they're having so much fun." She smiled, glancing out at Deidre talking to Vilu. "Of course, Vee still acts like a child, so it shouldn't be all that different to me, handling my own. I really need to meet Orca soon. I didn't expect to feel so affectionate towards her," she said almost to herself, her eyes still on her daughter. "It's strange."

Comet snorted. "ORCA may be having fun. Deidre tries to act like my mother and twitches when she sees her reflection. Orca is..." Comet looked for words to describe his son. "I want to say megalomaniacal, but he's really more like a mad scientist. He has a grudge against elves and works on evil schemes." The cat sighed. "But then again, life wouldn't be the same without them around." For one thing, he'd have a much easier time chatting up girls. But he'd probably miss them. Possibly. Maybe. "You sound just like a mother." he said, smiling at Milu. "You'd probably love them no matter what they were like. It's just a shame they're so..." His eyes fell on the picture of Orca being manhandled by the elf. "...Weird."

Deidre looked at Vilu. "It means looking the same on both sides. Like your shirt has a soccer ball on both sleeves and if you folded one side over on the other it'd match." She looked at Comet and Milu. "Is Mom gonna beat Dad up? Orca said she was. He bet a nickel on it." She frowned. "But if I won, I'd only have one nickel, which would be unsymmetrical..."
PostPosted: Sun Dec 31, 2006 2:37 pm

Snorting at Comet's description of Orca, Milu shrugged. "I don't think there are any children who aren't pretty weird. Look at you, you were chatting up girls from the moment you could talk. You want to claim that's not weird?" She swatted him lightly on the arm and smiled to let him know she was kidding. Mainly. "We all had our moments. I'd imagine these two are keeping you from talking to as many girls, eh? Quite a damper on your lifestyle."
"Oh..." Vilu replied, staring down at his soccer ball t-shirt. "And you don't like things that aren't symmetrical, huh?" Blinking, he pondered the nickel dilemma. "Well if you two bet a nickel, you must already have one nickel in case you lose, right? So if you win you should have two!" Nodding at his logic, he moved on to ponder what she had said about Milu and Comet. "Beat him up? Nah, I think she likes him. Just look at them," he said with a touch of resentment, eyeing them as they talked in the living room.

Deidre looked at Vilu. "Yeah. I didn't think it was humanly possible to like Dad if you knew him well enough and were female." She paused to think about this. "Do you think Milu's ill, then?" She pondered the nickel dilemma. "You're right. I probably have a nickel in one of my piggybanks." Deidre had two piggybanks because her room was symmetrical. She had two beds, a doll of herself, two of everything, including two doors- on one side leading to the hallway, on the other leading to a long drop down to the sidewalk.

"It's true I was... gifted for my age." said Comet carefully. "But I was wonderful and polite. They're scary." In response to her next statement he grinned. "You would think so, yes..."

((Gotta go, I'll respond later. Happy New Year! ^ O ^))

Shrugging, Vilu turned his eyes away from the parents. He didn't much like the idea of his sister liking any male, let alone one who had so much potential to take her away. Of course, most of this was rather above his head - He just knew he didn't like this. "Ill? Maybe..." He wondered if this could be the case. All females did seem to dislike Comet... For her to be the only one who liked him was strange. "My bank is in the shape of a soccer ball," he said proudly, perking up at the thought. "Do you like to play soccer?"
Milu snorted, shaking her head. "You're really something else. Horrible, really..." 'And yet his horribleness amuses you,' she scolded herself inwardly. Clearing her throat, she decided they needed a topic change. "So... Whatever happened to our other kitten, the pink one? Last I heard he was still in the pound."

((Mmkay. <33 Happy new year!))

Comet laughed. "But aren't I interesting?" he said warmly. Sobering up, he nodded. "Yes he is. Poor guy, there's a fellow who doesn't know how to charm an owner." Comet said. "You go up to them and say 'Hey, good lookin'!' and throw a wink in their direction. They'll be so thrown off that of COURSE they'll adopt you. And that's how I ended up with Kotatsu." he explained. "I could have waited for more interesting parents, I suppose, but I thought she looked good in tights." Comet recounted his fond memories easily. "How about you and Vilu then?" he asked.

Deidre's eyebrows furrowed. "Well, maybe she's just delirious from lack of sleep." At his next question, she shrugged. "I don't know what soccer is." she said. "I only know that a soccer ball looks like that..." she prodded Vilu's sleeve "... and that when the World Cup comes on Kotatsu roots for Great Britain and Dad roots for Italy."
