Heheh, I remember I had that exact same problem. I got really frustrated so I just cut off all chibi drawing for about a month and started drawing from real pictures, then back to anime. It worked for me, dunno if you want to try it.

Eh, you can just draw anime then, but I find it easier to draw anime if I know how to draw real people first...I'm just weird like that ._.''

I know that, I go through drawing phases all the time. But ICBXx is right, just stop drawing chibis for a while, try using more proportional stick figure figure guides and guidelines so you stay on track 3nodding

Actually most anime is very well in proportion. They bend the rules sometimes but it's true. Look at any of the trendy animes that are out today. Bleach, Naruto, Inuyasha (I don't know if people still like that one) or Ayashi no Ceres. They all follow the same rules that the actual human body does.

It really is best to learn how to draw the real body before even attempting anime. Drawing anime right away (which is what most people do) is like trying to run a 100meter dash when you've never ran before.

You really need to learn the basics before you can get surreal or 'cartoony' with it.

And with that... I'm moving this topic to the Q&A forum where it should be. ^^
