Just a few questions, if you don't mind.
1) What do the Goblin Armor/Mask items do? 2) How do you repair a snapped fishing rod, and which is the best to use? 3) How do you add people to a friendslist?
Also, any tips on playing WHM and getting gil would be helpful.
I am: Level 12 Hume White Mage, Remora Server.
EDIT: Quit FFXI now. It was great while it lasted, but its just not for me. crying

The Goblin equipment serves no other purpose other than crafting, I believe. Use a lightning crystal to desynthesize it for materials.
You have to use woodcrafting to repair a fishing rod. I forget what the best rod in the game is, but the second best one would be the Lu Shang's Rod. You can get it by trading 10,000 moat carps to one of the NPCs in San d'Oria Port.
I forget how to add people to friendslists though.
But early on, there's not much to worry about as a WHM. In parties, cast Cure, save Cure II for emergencies. If you spam Cure II instead of Cure, you'll end up taking too much hate and die.

Sorry to nitpick on the rod one, but to tide me over till I can get that rod, which would you recommend for a low level fisher?

Makenshi42 Ah. Okay. Thanks for the help. ^^ Sorry to nitpick on the rod one, but to tide me over till I can get that rod, which would you recommend for a low level fisher? Halcyon Rod, I believe. I wouldn't bother with fishing though, crafting is much more lucrative.

I sugest you don't start crafting until you have at least 100k on you, but fishing, you can do at anytime. Nice fishing database

You couldn't attack them or check them or talk to them. It was weird. Their name started with B, thats all I remember. sweatdrop

They're Bugards, and they have something to do with the New Years' event. I've traded cookies to them for random, short-lived, beneficial spells.

Used to spawn This, don't worry about it, it just drops a good katana for nin, which you shouldn't have to worry much about for now at least.
