"Madame, it is time for you to rest now..." Came the soothing voice of the woman from the doorway. Nadine stopped brushing her long blond hair and turned her hazel eyes to the door.

"Yes... of course..." She whispered in reply. The maid nodded then slipped away, leaving her alone. "Rest..." She repeated before leaving the bed and staring out the window. With careful hands she unlatched it and stared down at the courtyard below her.

What was left? That maid, while kind didn't have time to talk with or even care about her. Her parents were always off somewhere and... her last friend had moved away. What was left?

"... No one... will miss me... if I ..." She hoisted herself up onto the sill and stared down. No... she couldn't do that... Nadine licked her lips nervously and grabbed hold of the curtain to pull herself back inside.

A soft rip drifted from the room. A few seconds later the echos of a soft thud could be heard throughout the area, her body laden on the ground the last cherry blossom of the season falling on her icy cheek.

Yet spirits were already at work making sure that thud wasn't really fatal. Nadine's loneliness had aligned her soul perfectly with the soul of the god of loneliness. And she had already done the work to kill herself so they'd be connected. Her body and soul were pulled into the spiritual realm. While the body, now with a relic around it's neck, was left repaired in a spare bed on the Samadueanna-which now expected these visits from guardians-the soul was taken to the spirit realm. Both the soul of the god and the guardian were practically crying for each other reaching out and bonding. And as the woman's soul was sent back to her body, the bonded soul of the god now went into the relic round her neck. And she woke as if she'd been dreaming, with a friendly woman sitting by her side, smiling.

A dream... and something heavy against her chest that hadn't been there before. The girl sat up slowly and took relic in her hand. "Where..." She turned to the woman beside her and jumped slightly, where was she? And who was that woman? " Um... excuse me... do you... know where I am?"

"Yes. You're on the space ship the Samadueanna. We're nearing your home now. You apparently have been assigned to care for a god from the realm that I'm from. That god will be reborn and have to be cared for through childhood and onward. That should take care of your loneliness." Rouge said knowingly.

"God?" She asked unbelievingly, tightening her grip on the object around her neck. "I... I didn't ask... Why me?" This couldn't be happening! It was like something from the books she read but that was just fantasy, right? Maybe this was the dream.

"Yes a god. And no this isn't a dream." the blond said kindly. "You were chosen because it seems you were right to raise and protect this child. And I think because you needed it." Rouge was a kind and friendly person. This woman obviously needed friends. Why not help her out?

She was... needed? By a God? Nadine looked down at the necklace in her hand and then back up to the woman. "But... how.. am I supposed to know what to do? And where's the baby?"

"The baby will arrive in time. We're not sure when. Currently anyone whose going to be a guardian has a relic. But I'm sure the baby will come in a due time." the woman said with a smile. "And I'm sure you'll figure it out. And we'll be here to help you. Me, the crew, the other guardians. We'll all get through this together." Rouge said, fingering the relic on her own neck. It was on a gold chain and looked like a little flame. It was rather sweet actually.

"Relic? You mean this necklace?" Her confusion had turned into mild excitement. This WAS like her books! OK so it was lacking a handsome hero but still! She was needed by someone! She smiled at Rouge. "Yours is pretty miss..." She blanked for a name.

"My name is Rouge and thank you. I believe mine will be a fire god. Or so I'm told anyway." She laughed a bit, a friendly merry thing. "don't worry. You'll come out of this happier. I guarantee it." sure Rouge wasn't sure of the future, but she'd make sure this woman was happy in the end.

She smiled back. Already she could tell that this woman was a nice person. "I'm Nadine! Pleased to meet you!" Come out happier? That sounded nice... "And you won't be lonely anymore either!" She chimed in pointing at the other woman's necklace. "We'll both have someone!"

"Yes yes we will." Rouge said with a big grin. Truthfully, Rouge was almost never lonely, due to being such a friendly person. But Nadine obviously was. They'd have to fix that. Nadine was a nice girl after all. "Now come with me. Your maid must be worried about now. We'll send you home but I promise to come and visit you later on. Okay?" she said cheerfully, helping the girl up and leading her to the transporter room where she was sent home and went to bed.

And with that another guardian had gotten their charge-as well as a friend.

Congratulations Randy2Love you are now the proud guardian of the god of loneliness. Your journal shall be up shortly and you'll receive your relic and certed relic in a while.

Dia | When he was 'born' | Rouge | He LOVES Dia. He's decided that Dia is his best friend and even gave him a present: His Squishy! Right now Ezzie is concerned about his whereabouts and wondering how good of friends they really are.

Dartsmoore | 4-6-07 | None | She scared him when they first met but showed him pretty pictures. Although he doesn't know what these pictures mean but does realize some connection.

Sasha | 4-6-07 | None | Sasha is now Ezzie's 'daddy' through force more then anything. He likes this man for his colors and his soft spoken voice. He's easily jealous when his butterfly spends more time with Elena or talking about the new baby.

Elena | | Nadine and Sasha | He likes his new sister but doesn't think she's much fun to play with due to her age. He also dislikes it when she gets more attention then him.

Feejhu | | A good friend but just that. He used to have a small crush on her but never got to see her until Dia left.

Aroura| | Met her while sneaking away for the first time. She seems really sweet and was super helpful when he hurt his leg. Ezzie has 'the hots' for her.
