Well, me and my friend were watching that nifty little interview that came with the box set. Someone asked if John being in Sacremento was important. "Yes, but not telling why." So then it was asked if Lawrence, Kansas was important. Kripke said it had to do with something right around there.

The unincorporated area of Stull, Kansas, which lies just to the west of Lawrence across Clinton Lake contains a cemetery which a popular local urban legend claims is a "gateway to hell" (in 2003, a church that stood next to the cemetery was torn down after years of abandonment). The urban legend, however, actually originated in a November 1974 article in the University Daily Kansan.[4]

The way Kripke talked about it, it seemed like it wasn't going to happen for a while.
What if they used it to go to Hell to defeat the demon on his own turfe? As like the final battle?

Yeah, I remember Kripke saying that the reason he chose Lawrence, Kansas is because there's a popular urban legend around there. I was going to find out what the urban legend was but I forgot to do that. lol But, anyways, thanks for the info! 3nodding
