I'm aware that you can use Photoshop to make gifs, as well as GIMP, but I can never really figure out how to do it. And I'd like to try it before I buy any software, just in case I don't like it much. :'x

I use Corel Photo Paint to make gifs, which is a rip off of photoshop I think, so it should be pretty much the same. In CPP you can import multiple images as frames in a "movie", then export them in AVI or GIF format (note: GIF is only 8 bit, so 256 colours only. You might have to convert images to 256 colours before GIF is available as an export option) You should get the option to set transparencies and frame rates before saving too. Experiment with photoshop (if you have it).

scribblez2030 @[Anti-cow-juice] :You know, I was wondering the SAME thing... *pets envy's hair* @ Gravo: Where would one get this, Corel Photo Paint? Unfortunately it's a commercial product. It comes as a package with Corel Draw and costs hundreds of dollars. I ripped my copy off from work (shhh... its a secret!) But I am certain there are other products that can do it. I will do a bit of research and if I find something I will post back here.

If you have Photoshop, try fiddling with that. I was told Corel is an inferior copy of Photoshop anyway, so you are probably better off with that.
