well, this thread should exclude emerald and ruby, since there supposed to be hardest. I say Ruby, including those two, but storyline boss (excluding that pain in the a** Sephi)...Proud Clod (the machine you fight that has Scarlet and Heidger in it), but that could change.

I beat him without KOTR , but just barely (and i was in the 70's, not 99)

Seifer Sephiroth was caik and I didn't even have KOTR (hadn't gotten it in the game yet) when I beat him the first time.
The WEAPONs aren't really hard so much as CHEAP bastards.
What kind of pathetic IWIN button moron tosses your party members aside to give himself a completely unfair advantage (I'm looking at you Midgar Zolom)?

He was a push over. there is no way he is a hard boss. I'm sorry if he was for you, but i've knocked him about without even breaking a sweat. for me, the hardest would have to be.....Emerald, if you don't have the underwater materia. if you do, then not so much. then i'll have to go with Ruby on that one. Diamond was more annoying, not so much of a problem.

Seph was the hardest. It took me nine tries to defeat him and only one try to defeat Ruby. I even had KotR and he kicked my butt. sweatdrop

Ok seriously Spehiroth was a huge let down. I was able to beat him at lvl 62 and this is without KOTR. All the bosses on 7 were easy. The weapons provided some challenge but they met their demise.

Ruby weapon isn't really all that hard if you do it the right way. enter battle with 2 dead characters. attatch final materia to pheonix, wait until after he puts his fingers into the ground, use hades and paralyze him, and use knights of the round as much as you can. try not to attack the fingers though, cause he'll pull them out of the ground and use whirlsand to get rid of some of your characters

The first time I played it I found that boss at Wutai really quite hard, having no materia and all ...
but i wouldn't say he was the hardest .... Emerald is.

Proud Clod is by no means a hard boss. You can beat a watered down version of him with Cloud alone no probs.

every boss in this game was extremely easy for me een beforee i knew anything about master materia or kotr. one exeption was emerald because when he crushes u i wasnt aware that the reason i had recieved 9999 damage was because i had 2 much materia. ruby was easy for me i just kept using omnislash and placing cloud on haste
