In a distant land ruled by dragons and beings of magic the powers of good and evil battles rage on between races. Dragons representing the earth and all things good, their race being the oldest in the world, respected by many feared by all. Demons however being the dragons’ enemy came to capture the earth for the bountiful richness in souls. Coming thru a rift in space the demons led by one known as The Hunter, laid waste to much of the land before being driven back by the dragons. It was a bloody war. Many lives were taken and many souls reaped. The souls captured by demons were placed into any living object from animals to corpses. After a millenium the demons were finally driven back thru the rift and all their armies killed. A time of peace that has lasted for ten thousand years followed. Peace and nature flourished and many animals came into existence. Many races came thru different portals set around the world but after a prophecy was found of this peacetime ending soon the creatures and every race was given a choice of staying and sealing all the portals and living in peace amongst one another. After sealing all portals the races traveled and settled much of the planet. Dwarves, humans and goblins occupying the southern parts and elves, faeries, and humans to the northern parts. Nomadic herds traveled from north to south as traders. Before long the dragons became recluse to watch their world flourish and support itself. Many were forgotten as were the ways of peace taught by them. Soon dragons took on human forms and traveled the globe trying to keep peace amongst the races. It was not really working as fights broke out between the humans and the elves for land and crops. The goblins had been entering dwarven halls and mines without permission. Soon the Nomadic Plains became battle grounds yet again but this time it was against each other. One dragon, acting on his own and meaning to teach the Races a lesson, opened the rift to the demon world to let only a few through, was attacked by one of the very demons that had come through leaving the portal open. It was easy prey for them as the races of the world slaughtered each other. Quickly many became aware of the demons and tried to warn others. Not many would listen. As the years went on and the demons started to take over battles were no longer fought in fields but in villages where innocents were. People started to remember dragons as their saviors from demons but a small group, made up of a few different races was formed and learned magic that killed off the demons. Elves with their power over the earth elements of water and plants, dwarves with the power of the actual earth, rocks and fire. Also with the smiths to create strong weapons and armor. Humans had limited power but they could be taught the ways of the art of magic harnessing water fire and earth. The goblins, not really in league with anyone preyed upon the weak and did pretty much mercenary jobs but they had the power over shadows and stealth.
now for the races.
MAIN RACES
ELVES - Quick and silent their armor is thin and cant really stop much except aroows and small weaponry. they can harness water, talk to plants and can commune with nature and animals. they usually use bows and arrows even though they are skilled in swords and knives.
DWARVES - Loud and gruff a dwarfs armor usually doubles his weight. it is thick and can stop most weapons. Dwarves are masters of fire and earth. Usually equipped with huge battle axes and smaller throwing weapons.
HUMANS - Adaptable and live thruought the planet.armor made of steel is usually clumsy but some perfer stealth and robes while others even perfer the ancient arts of magic. weapons range from bows to swords and magic. humans can learn all magic but it isnt as powerful as with say dwarven fire or the elves magic.
GOBLINS - live underground small and lanky. they dont really use armor and are good with small weaponry such as dirks and knives. also they like to use poison. goblins are creatures who usually do anything for payment and are always up for hire. the harness the powers of shadows and stealth.
DEMONS - Race of pure evil. Posses the body of the fallen in battle.
DRAGONS AND BEINGS
DRAGONS- can take on human form. there are 4 main dragons and their followers:
Dragon of Light
Dragon of Fire
Dragon of earth
Dragon of water
Beings - these beings are random and come from different cultures thru the portals that are now sealed. but the main ones:
Draconians - Ancient beings from Atlantis. Winged and age as slow or even slower than elves
Tezas - usually they mixed in with the nomads. but you can tell by the color changing eyes. they can see dreams and thoughts. they can also with enough concentration take over your mind for a short while.
Aerrenz - Cousin to the dwarves but they like the skies instead of the earth and harness the great animals,the griffons
Faeries - small looking like elves but are more in tune with the spirits of the forest.
Terres - shape shifters, not much known about this race
