Many un-educated people believe martial-arts are all the same, all come from China and all use nunchucka, and, of course scream their heads off.l
The screaming view clearly came from the Bruce Lee movies and how he made sounds like animals. (P.S Fist of Fury is an amazing film, then Jet Li did a rubbish version called Fist of Legend, it S-U-C-K-S!)
But how could people be so wrong! When you say to someone your hobbies they immediatly take a Crane stance and start going HHIIIIYYAA!
WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY?
Oh and the other thing is that every martial-art breaks boards! many times people ask 'How many boards can you break?'
It really gets to me, but then I realise it's their loss. PHEW!!!!!!
Does anyone else find it irritating?

eek Whoa, easy wild cat. You cant expect everyone to understand what you do and why its important to you. I really dont talk about my martial arts training outside my circle of friends, and most of them have some basic knowlege about it to begin with. I figure if someone wants to fight you and they have no idea that you train to fight it helps put the ball in your court. If they know you do martial arts they think... "oh that shrimps not that tuff" and come after you. Thats my opinion anyway.(shrugs)

My biggest annoyance is people that talk like they know martial arts because they watch TV or "study the Jackie Chan's movies". So you mean i spent all this time learning to fight and all i had to do was watch a couple of movies? Damn thats just depressing rolleyes .
I will say this though, there are a few good videos out there that will give you a good refresher course but if you just start out learning that way then when you walk into a dojo the master is going to have to break every bad habbit you've picked up...Along with an arm or two just to be fair. mrgreen
