Do it with a dental dam over the area, or plastic wrap. Basically, any oral-a**l sex is high-risk for transmission of disease, besides STD's some nasty viruses have been passed through s**t (rotavirus and polio are a couple good examples, these haven't neccesarily involved direct contact with it either, more like someone doesn't wash their hands after using the bathroom, then someone else touches their hand or something the infected person touched, then they infect their food by touching it...then eat their food...). If you're planning on using your hands in any of this, use latex/polyurethane gloves (medical exam gloves, if you're getting them at the drug store). That said, I've heard it can be good.

Nah, really. If you like it, good, great, more power to ya. But Elven's right. You have to be careful about any sort of disease that might be transfered. And gloves might not be enough, even after using gloves, be sure to wash your hands, wrists, and forearms with a good quality anti-bacterial soap.
