Snow! It was cold, and white, and pretty, and it stuck together! Her feet were kinda cold but Diina didn't mind so much 'cause Haisyn dressed her up so she could play outside. Diina was currently trying to figure out how to construct a giant snow-man... or rather a snow-kitsu... Between the giant part and the kitsu part she was having a hard time. Thus far she'd managed to roll up a ball of snow that was a little bigger than her head and kind of lopsided, and she couldn't quite figure out what to do with it. At this point she might have been happy with just a regular sized snow-kitsu but she couldn't figure out how to make the legs and paws. She'd thought about using sticks but they looked funny...

Ashaan had poked his head out of HQ just a little bit ago and promptly gone back inside. He'd never seen snow before and didn't quite know what to think of it. Except that it was COLD. He knew that much, having put a paw down in it before he realized such.
But eventually ... he also realized that Diina wasn't anywhere around ... and wondered if maybe she was out there in it. And he didn't really want to go out but ... what if she was, and she was ... cold or something? So he padded outside, shaking the white stuff off his feet after nearly every step and looking more than a bit uncomfortable. "Diina?" he called, heading over toward the trees. "Are you out here?"

Ashaan's voice drew Diina out of her musings and she padded toward the sound. "I am! I'm trying to make a snow-kitsu..." She paused when she saw him, disbelief plain in her face. "Aren't you cold?" She tugged her scarf off and did her best to wrap it around his neck and then started looking through the pockets of the coat Haisyn had tied on to her. Haisyn hadn't had one that was kitsu sized but she'd made it work. All Diina could find was a pair of mittens... she didn't know how much good they'd do, but she offered them anyway. "Will these stay on your feet?"

He blinked, staring at her wide-eyed as she suddenly started draping these things on him. He was cold but ... this seemed just a bit ridiculous! "They're already numb, don't think those would help ... uhm. Whatever they are," he answered, eyeing the gloves. "And what in the world is a snow-kitsu?"

"Oh..." Diina stuffed the mittens back in her pockets. "Well Haisyn told me about how people where she comes from make snow men by rolling big balls of snow and stacking them on top of eachother and making faces in the top one and using sticks for arms and it sounded like fun so I thought I'd try making a snow-kitsu but... well sticks don't really look very good for legs and I can't really figure out how to make it look like a kitsu..." She frowned slightly. "I uh... have a big ball of snow started though..." She grinned lopsidedly at her unimpressive achievement. She wasn't sure Ashaan would be very interested in a big snow ball. After all it was... just a big snow ball.

Ashaan looked confused for a moment, glancing from Diina to said large ball of snow and back again. "Uhm well ... it doesn't look much like a kitsu yet." He padded over, pawing at the snowball. "And I don't think sticks for legs would hold it up off the ground." He seemed to be ... almost talking to himself.
Taking a couple of steps back, he tilted his head. "Maybe if it was a kitsu laying down? Then we could sort of ... carve in legs."

Diina smiled from ear to ear... well not literally, but figuratively. "That would work! Should we make it bigger? Oh and like, ovalish?" Ashaan had such good ideas! She bounced over to the snowball and started to roll it some more. She was gonna make the bestest snow-kitsu ever with Ashaan's help.

Ashaan backed up just a bit, eyeing what she was doing. "Yea, I think so ... " He laid down himself and tried to look back over his shoulder at how his own body was shaped to get an idea of what they were trying to do.

Diina headed back toward Ashaan with her now bigger snowball. "Do you think this is big enough now?" She stopped in front of him, or rather, intended to, but both of her hind paws hit the same slick rock at the same time and she slipped. Her forward momentum and the roundness of the snowball caused her to slide forward over it. She managed to stop herself with her forepaws although her hind legs were draped over the snowball, but it just so happened that the moment she stopped was the moment Ashaan turned around. They they were nose to nose and mouth to mouth. Diina's eyes went very wide and she just stood there for a moment before her mind registered the only thing her instincts could find to do and she backpedaled so she could collect herself and figure out what just happened. Unfortunately for her, the slick rock was still there, and the snowball was still round, so she ended up falling backward over the abused mass of frozen liquid and landed on her back with her paws dangling uselessly in the air. She would have gotten up but she was still a little too dazed by a sudden confused rush of feelings she couldn't pin down.

Ashaan also blinked, startled by her face suddenly appearing in front of him like that - and so close to touching! For a long moment, he froze, even after she fell over back the way she had come. Then he bounded around the side of that snowball, nosing at her. "Diina ... Diina, are you ok?" he asked. They were just trying to make a snow-kitsu, she couldn't be hurt doing something like this, right?

At Ashaan's nosing Diina's legs slowly toppled to one side, like a tree falling, turning the rest of her with it. Then she finally seemed to come to her senses and got to her feet, but seemed to change her mind and sat back down. "I... think so." She checked to make sure everything was still working. "I think I was just stunned."
She turned to look at Ashaan and felt her cheeks heat up. She was blushing? Why was she blushing? Her ears went back ever so slightly and she looked at the snowball, hoping the blush wasn't showing through her lightly colored fur. The pink on her nose might help hide it. She didn't want Ashaan to ask about it because she didn't know why she was doing it. "D- D'you think that'll be ok for a snow-kitsu?"

He stepped back a bit nervously, not sure why he'd gotten that close to her in the first place ... oh! Because he was worried, right? Right. He had no other thoughts than that ...
But now he was finding it hard to actually look away from her again. Finally he did though, eyeing the snowball. "Ah ... I think so ... if we work with it a little," he said, with a slight bob of his head.

Diina move over to the snowball and turned it a bit this way and that until it was sitting where it looked sort of like a kitsu body. "Should we... roll a ball for a head, I guess?" She was trying not to stare at Ashaan, not sure why it was so hard to keep from looking at him. "Um... You wanna carve legs on it and I'll make another snowball? This one will be smaller so I don't think I'll fall over it."

Ears tilted toward her and he thought for a moment, then nodded. "All right ... yea. I think we do need another for the head." And eyeing the ball he pushed a paw into the snow, shivering a bit at how -cold- it was ...

Diina started rolling another snowball. When she got it to what seemed to be about the right size she rolled it back over to where Ashaan was carving in legs. She finally looked back up at him then, thinking that maybe she might be over whatever had been going on earlier, and she noticed that he was shivering. He'd said he was all right but... he was obviously cold. Diina plunked the new snowball down on the front of the old one and went to sit beside Ashaan. "Would you rather go back inside?..." She didn't want him to be cold and get sick or something just because she wouldn't stop playing in the snow. "The snow's not gonna melt for a couple of days, we could finish later if you want to go..." Diina felt kinda funny inside, but it was awfully nice to sit beside him.
