What random kitchen gadgets bring you the most joy?
I think I enjoy balloon whisks the most. After I discovered them, mixing was never the same.
I like heat resistant spatulas as well...never again will I melt a spatula. wink

My favourite core kitchen equipment: chef's knife, cast iron skillet. Chef's knife must be VERY SHARP. Once my old roommate put my knife in the dishwasher. I rescued it before it got washed and told him if he ever did that again I'd be using the knife on HIM next. Cast iron just makes me happy smile
Of the more gadgety things in my kitchen, my favorites are the mortar and pestle, and the mezzaluna. A mezzaluna is a curved blade with a handle running across it, and a shallow bowl-shaped cutting "board". You can chop herbs and nuts in it very quickly and easily, and it's really fun too 4laugh

My favorite piece cooking equipment would be a wooden rolling pin. Yes, very simple. The smooth wood, though, is just very classic and traditional. Not the most high-tech gadget I own, but still nice.

I have one special knife...I use it for everything. It's nice and sharp and more professional than my other Wal-Mart purchased knives.

The knife has to definately be my favorite kitchen gadget. i keep my japanese santuku razor sharp and (as my roommate knows) will murder anyone that puts it in the dishwasher or soaks it in water.

My whisk, cause I can hold it up and say "I'm gonna whisk you into next week!"
Probably my skillet (or all my baking equipment, my specialty is baking), because I use it alot.

I love how a whisk is shaped, but I so think a teapot owns. Hardly anyone uses them anymore, but I'm a big tea-drinker.

Pinkcat Florist I love how a whisk is shaped, but I so think a teapot owns. Hardly anyone uses them anymore, but I'm a big tea-drinker. Teapots are lovely. How else is the tea supposed to steep? I am such a loose tea snob wink

My mortar and pestle, made out of some very heavy marble. I like to buy whole spices and herbs, grinding them myself if I need to. I've noticed a big improvement in flavor.
