Avani stood at the edge of the riverbank, Lei looking on.
"You really shouldn't be doing this. Papa's gonna be maaddd."
The darkhaired earthbender clenched her teeth together as she tried concentrating over the sound of her sisters worrying.
"He won't if he doesn't know," she said, looking back. As she had grown over time, so had her sister, although not quite as much. Her sister was now 13, but was smaller then Avani had been. "Now be quiet."
She had been watching other students when she could and tried now to copy the stance.
"You look like someone could breath and you'd fall over," Lei said.
"Not..helping," Avani replied, widening her legs.

Tsai Shen had been strolling along the river when he heard a familiar voice, and grinned. That was definately Avani. Although... she sounded a bit different. It had been a while since they'd talked. After all, he'd gone back to Fire Nation for a second time, just a quick trip though. Now he snuck along the bank, getting closer, and pulling out a thin reed, to use quickly. Hopefully, he moved before the other teenager could react, and swept it out, seeking to prove Lei's point, and trip the girl. Of course, he also moved so that he could catch her. Tsai Shen didn't want Avani falling to the sand.
"Hello, Ladies."
He'd never met Lei before.

"Agghh!" Avani cried, very unladylike. falling backwards towards Tsai Shen.
Her younger sister started laughing and rocked backwards so far that she toppled, still laughing. "I told you so!" she said, pushing herself back up.
"Hullo, stranger!" Lei said, smiling and looking up.

Easily scooping the teen up into his arms, Tsai Shen grinned full force down at Avani until he looked at her for real. At which point, his smile faltered and his eyes widened. She'd grown A LOT. And she was GORGEOUS. Setting her on her feet, Tsai Shen shook his head hard, and then turned the force of his smile on Lei, bending at the waist to bow and kiss her hand.
"Why, hello to you too, pretty girl! You're Miss Lei, aren't you?"

Her pretty dark eyes meet with his breifly and she saw Tsai Shen's eye's widen, wondering what it was about. "Hello there, Tsai Shen," she said, smiling sweetly. "What brings you out here?"
"Oh, you're the Tsai Shen that sister talks about so often!" Lei said, jumping up after he had kissed her hand. "I think I owe you many thank yous, for all the nice food Avani brought home from you."

"No thankyou's needed."
He winked at the young teen before glancing at Avani, his cheeky smile somewhat charming. Or evil, in her eyes.
"She talks about me, does she? Well, I suppose I should, considering she's my girlfriend!"
Oh yes, back to that. He remembered the first day he'd met her, when she'd been so outraged by him saying that.
"I was just taking a walk, dearest. And you?"

Avani blushed at Tsai Shen's smile and comment. "Oh, you're not still going on about that are you?" she asked, shaking her head. "You're just as silly now as you were then!"
"Oh, yes, she talked about you daily when you were gone. She was so saaaadddd," Lei made little fists and pretened to cry as she said this.
The teenager narrowed her eyes at her sister. "Oh, be quiet."

"Haha! Sounds like she has a crush on me!"
The tanned youth chose to ignore her words on his maturity level, and instead let his eyes run over Avani's body, smiling slightly.
"You're more beautiful each time I see you."
The weird boy went from joking to serious every five seconds. Now he was back to silly.
"Were you trying to practice bending earlier? It was HILARIOUS."
Gringringrin. What an a**.

"Crush? She's maaadddllly in love with you!" Lei said, jumping up and twirling around.
"And YOU are madly in love with Petch!" Avani retorted, annoyedly.
Lei's mouth snapped shut, but her mouth widdened in a wicked grin.
"Oh....Don't...don't say things like that!" Avani said, pushing her hair out of her face. "You're being so silly..."
"I don't think he's being siiilllyyy," Lei said through her grin and very soft and mockingly. "Her bending practice WAS funny, wasn't it?"
"Well, I mean, it's not like I really know much..." Avani mumbled, then stomped her foot, trying to raise the ground below Tsai Shen and gave him a shove in his shoulder. "And who are you to make fun of me?! What have you done?" Her face was as red as it could get and just as indignant.
