The more you know... This is an Idea Dump Thread for Raevan concepts.
Currently, my favorite Raevans are Lorenzo & Malakai.
My intent for this quest is not for a custom Raevan, or even a semi-custom. Truthfully, I am attracted to the uncertainty of what the Raevan will look like, as owners are usually given an impossible fel essence and their random choice of a soul. The looks, gender and personality of the resulting Raevan is usually dictated by Kyou, and I like the anticipation of not knowing what I will get to take care of. It's a surprise for everyone, and each person gets to react as fresh and new as I do.
However, such options aren't available unless through a Flastsale. This quest is set up to earn enough for a semi-custom, mostly because (a) I want Kyou to have creative freedom, (b) I want to support the Lab and (c) it will let me stretch out my creative legs to see what type of ideas I can come up with, even if they aren't going to be the end result.
I might recreate this thread elsewhere so that those who aren't part of the Guild may give their critique. For now, if you would like to comment and aren't part of the Lab guild, feel free to PM me and I will post your words here with my response.

News Timeline defined.07.09.07 - Cleaned up the thread a little, gave Alex some official pictures. Will start this quest soon with or without banners.
06.13.07 - A few more updates. I swear, I need to learn how to make banners and this can be official. >.>;
05.09.07 - Some minor updates on Malakai - he'll be functional again soon!
02.25.07 - Gave Alex some tektek dolls. Have a new picture of Allyson to post soon.
02.23.07 - Replaced Muninn with Huitzilopochtli. Gave Unnamed One a name: Allyson, and changed her Fel Essence to Pearl of the Lotus! Added a picture to Allyson, and added a painful Raevan concept: Lorenzo, Alex's beloved Gwee!
02.20.07 - Natsuki has been awarded the Fractured Rainbow Fel Essence! Since Malakai's Inverted Rainbow is a bit close, I will be rethinking his essence. Please stay tuned!

Pronunciation: She's Italian, so...Alexandria...Veiz-cah-tea.
Alias: Alex, Vi, Birdy (by very select few).
Age: Officially 27; birthdate is August 7th.
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 140 lbs
Hair: Raven-wing black in color, mid-back in length. Usually pulled up with a hair clip.
Eyes: Green.
Skin: Naturally tan.
Distinguishing Marks: She had many scars. The most recent (within the past few years) is a narrow scar the bottom right portion of her rib cage up to the right part of her chest; a circular scar no larger than a quarter over her left hip, obviously a clean-through wound from the identical marking on her back over the same area; a slender, snaking scar between her shoulder blades; and something on her right leg...
Piercings: Four; two in each ear. She usually only wears two.
Tattoos: None.
Typical Attire: Cargo work pants, simple tank top, high-traction boots, rolled-up long-sleeve work shrit (if cool), free moving thermal jacket (if cold).
Accessories: Glasses, utility belt, (rarely) braces on her forearms/wrists.
Personality: Sweet, but an utter and complete goofball. The only time she can ever really be serious is when she works, in which case all joking is out the door. She is traditional in some aspects but very open to change and new things; she often means well, but is terribly straight forward, which can make her come across as very blunt or cruel. She dislikes confrontation and will often distance herself in an aloof manner to avoid any awkardness. Alex is a lover and a fighter, a wild card who is very spontaneous and big-hearted. She's an utter terror around her big brother, but is as solid and dependable as a rock for those who truly need her.
Likes: Her studies, art, animals, coffee shops, meal time, the beach.
Dislikes: Traffic, self-centered people, bad service, spiders, scary movies.
Occupation: Zoologist.
Abilities: Alex is a polygot. She's also a tinkerer and a photographer.
Hobbies: Working, beach walking, picking apart movie continuity, reading/studying.
Living Arrangement: Alex lives by herself in a two bedroom "house" off the Barton Coast. The "house" is more like a vacation home, white and airy with many windows and few doors. The house stays relatively clean, simply because Alex doesn't spend much time inside it.
Family: None near by. Her parents are deceased.
Pets: Two Gwee; one domesticated (Lorenzo, or simply Zoe), one wild (Zahara, or Zar). Alex sometimes refers to them as Riff and Raff.
History: Born Alessandra (Alexandria) Falcone as a second child to Giovani and Isabelle Falcone, she was raised as a true Italian; she has a healthy respect for food and is very family orientated. As she was growing up, her parents told her she could be anything: her mother was an artist, her father slightly less altruistic in his work ethic but loyal to his family (she never really knew his profession). Her mother wasn't fond of whatever her father dabbled in, and a divorce was underway before her brother entered college.
Before the divorce was finalized, her father died in an accident on the harbor involving a drunk operating heavy machinery; her mother died a few months thereafter, presumably of heartbreak, medically of an enlarged heart.
Her brother graduated from construction as Alex decided to try and understand humanity a bit better, entering college with the intent of being an anthropologist under her mother's maiden name. She also took a handful of language immersion classes, which she excelled at. Her interest in history and grasp of languages allowed her to delve into the archelogical aspect of her major which turned her onto the arts.
Halfway through her degree, she dropped the subject without explanation and turned to zoology. Alex had apparently found what she wanted, although it was speculated that she dropped the subject because of a certain partner she was working with. She found sense and a decided lack of turmoil in the world of animals, both known and legend, able to empathize with four legged critters much easier than the two legged variety. Alex graduated with honors in her class; she was a very apt pupil and had a knack for her chosen profession, despite her false start. She is often referred to as 'Doctor V' when surrounded by her peers.
She has mysteriously been working with the Gwee for over a year now. Very few know the history of the Gwee and her influence on it, and Alex is fine with that. She is currently studying their oceanic brethren on the Barton Cliffs.
Factoids: Alex is a closet video game fanatic. - She covets her portable music player almost more than anything else she owns. - Her brother is one of her only living relatives, although she doesn't see him much.

Quetzacoatl's Feather & Raven Soul
Name: Huitzilopochtli, named after the Aztec God of War and the Sun. Also responds to "Hui" and "Tzi," although he doesn't acknowledge "Poch-Poch" or "Huey."
Guardian: Alexandria
Gender: Male
Fel Essence: Quetzalcoatl's Feather - Often disregarded as the feather of the rare but very real Resplendent Queztal. This feather fell from the sky during a cloudless day in the midst of a dead field. It is said that within a day if its coming, the sky filled with clouds and unleashed a healing rain that cured the dead crops, which produced the most succulent maize. The feather is said to have remarkable healing properties, but will disappear from the hand that is unworthy.
Feeds: Huitzilopochtli feeds off of the rain. He can feed off of local crops, but doing so usually ends up in a small portion of the field being killed. When it grows back, however...
Soul: Raven
Hair color: Black, to the point of being blue.
Hair style: Long, tied back; his bangs touch his lower jaw.
Eye color: Stormy green, like the feathers of the Resplendant Quetzal.
Skin color: Tan.
Markings on skin: Some tribal markings.
Clothing style: Has a neckpiece of rainbow colored feathers.
Wings: Feathered, black or rainbowed.
Horns: N/A
Ears: Regular, or feathered.
Accesories: A snake armlet, bracers with a feather or two, maybe a gold circlet with - you guessed it - more feathers, or perhaps in the shape of a two-headed snake.
Personality: Upon first meeting, he seems to be quiet and watchful, regal and almost aloof. He's slow to anger but easily ruled by his emotions. Inquisitive and eager to learn, he gets along with most people but actually likes very few. He's not trusting in the least. He's also something of a kleptomaniac when it comes to small, shiny things, like bottle caps and bits of tinsel. He enjoys cloud-gazing and simply being outside in nature.

Fel Essence: Pearl of the Lotus - This strange, nondescript pearl is somewhat opaque. If someone looks close enough, they may be able to see a live, minature lotus within it. It is said that this pearl is from the very lotus that the the Goddess Lakshmi perched upon.
Feeds: Allyson feeds on mud. That's right, mud! Lotus are known to grow from the mud completely untouched; as such, it is her best source of food, even if she doesn't like the idea (more like, she rarely does it because she's so disgusted by it). She can also absorb sustinence from flowers, which can prolong their life somehow.
Soul: Fish (Emeraldback Lion)
Hair color: Dark Green (to the point of being Black), or lavender.
Hair style: Long and flowing OR pulled up traditionally...ref coming.
Eye color: Green or pearl.
Skin color: Opalescent, or light pink, like a flush.
Markings on skin: Emerald scales by her eyes, on her shoulders, parts of her arms and back.
Clothing style: A saris, either pink, green or white with embroidery of pink/green.
Wings: Webbed draconic wings, or multiple wings like lotus petals.
Horns: N/A.
Ears: Normal, or fin-like.
Accesories: A wreath of unwilting flowers, a lotus by her ear.
Personality: Sweet as honey and twice as smooth. She has a rare look about her; she borders on cute and beautiful, an exotic mix of the two in an innocent mask over an ancient face. Kind and hard to ruffle, she enjoys a good challenge and loves to go outside. She has an affinity for water. She's friendly and accepting of all things for what they are; she's willing to trust, but is very unforgiving if that trust is misplaced.

Inverted Eclipse & Chameleon Soul
Name: Malakai (goes by Kai for short)
Guardian: Alexandria
Gender: Androgynus
Fel Essence: Inverted Eclipse - Description pending! Huge thanks to Mouse and Aphismet for their contributions!
Feeds: Kai is a snacker. More info pending!
Soul: Chameleon (Chamaeleo jacksonii).
Hair color: Changes, but typically white.
Hair style: Long and straight with the occassional crazy up-do (preferred) OR gothic lolita [X] [X] [X] [X] as an immitation of a neck crest OR a mohawk [X] as an immitation of a head crest [X]. The only reason I wouldn't consider the other two as much as the first is because they are different species of chameleon. That is at Kyou's discretion. :3
Eye color: Lots of possibilities here...a black sclera with white eyes (as an Inverted Eclipse), rainbow colored (chameleon), or white sclera and black pupils with no other coloring at all.
Skin color: Changes, but typically tan.
Markings on skin: She has six fingers, stripes/markings on his back that trail around her body but keeps his inner arms/chest/stomach unmarked...like a chameleon. She also has small ridges on his back that looks like thorns. [X] [X]
Clothing style: Near nothing - s/he is very comfortable in his skin, and doesn't mind showing it off. A tube top that covers the chest (and precious little else) would be sufficient if clothing was necessary. Besides, clothes would hinder the camouflage!
Wings: Up for debate - possibly tipped wings, IE white with black tips, or black with white tips.
Horns: Two on her head, maybe one on his forehead.
Ears: Small and scaled.
Accesories: Ear piercings, possible facial piercings, rings/finger armor [X] [X] [X], arm cuffs [X] [X], a necklace decorated in the phases of the moon, etc (at Alex's insistance, so she knows how to find him if he's hiding).
Personality: Malakai is color blind. He's extremely optimistic and fun loving, and a more than a little bit of a clutz. She likes to paint and often uses his fingers (and tongue if he gets carried away) to do all her work. He can be very impatient and easily confused when she's excited (or otherwise ruled by a dominant emotion). He has a tendancy to lie if she thinks he'll be in trouble for something, although she's a horrible liar (Alex: Kai, where's my lunch? Kai: THE DOG ATE IT. Alex: ...we don't have a dog.). Kai seems to be a tightly coiled bundle of never ending energy, although sometimes when the sun is setting or rising, he can be seen being very thoughtful with a far away gaze.

Fel Essence: Seraphic Ashes - These are the ashes of an angel fallen in battle. Angels don't leave remains when they die, so how did these ashes come to be? It looks like ordinary dust, if not for the prominant glow that exudes from the small pile, even outside of the bottle. Some say they can hear soft words whispered in an archaic tongue when holding the vial to their ear, reminiscent of a dirge.
Feeds: Lorenzo feeds off of sunlight, which also gives him a great deal of energy. Then again, it could be all the sugar he consumes...
Soul: Gwee
Hair color: White or Blonde
Hair style: Short and spikey
Eye color: Red
Skin color: Tan with a greenish tint.
Markings on skin: His fingers are tapered into black claws.
Clothing style: Bits and pieces of armor (IE, a shoulder pad, a harness for a sheath, etc) that look worn and ancient.
Wings: Feathered Gwee/dragon wings. Or one or the other. Or both?
Horns: Two on his head.
Ears: Fin-like.
Accesories: Maybe a pendant or bracers of some sort...nothing necessary.
Personality: Extremely spontaneous and impulsive. Zoe is very good natured but can be a little on the selfish side. He's very attached to Alex and is easily made jealous. Alex describes him as neurotic and A.D.D., because he's always moving and his attention never seems to be on one thing for very long. Although he's excitable, he's very protective of the ones he cares about. He can be soothed with music, especially if it's Alex humming. He has a strange fascination with colors and has a love of flowers. His love of sweets borderlines on absurd.

Fel Essence Idears The UnusedInverted Rainbow - What does the inside of a rainbow look like? It's inverted! Where there are all seven colors in a rainbow (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, purple), an inverted rainbow is seven shades (white, off-white, light grey, grey, dark grey, charcol, black). How someone got inside a rainbow is almost as mysterious as how it is bottled here!
Eclipse - This essence is almost too much to look at. It appears as if the inside of the tube is completely dark, but there's a phospherescent glow along the outside, encompassing the dark. It's as though someone bottled an eclipse as it passed! The light seems to shift, too bright to look at directly, much like the sun itself.
Undending Earthquake - The earth in this vial is moving constantly! It rumbles and rolls, making the glass vibrate noticably. Somehow, the small rocks inside haven't been reduced to rubble. How is this shaking without the plates that cause the disaster in the first place?
