Source: Feministe.

Thoughts? I think it's just appalling that this guy thinks he can pry into private medical records whenever he pleases.

And he's been appointed DA in another county.

The patients should file a lawsuit against him for violation of privacy.

Lord Setar
And he's been appointed DA in another county.

Yes, that would be in Johnson County, a large and relatively wealthy northeastern county where, it just so happens, the main branch for Planned Parenthood of Kansas & Missouri is located (I'm pretty sure that's the main one; if not, it's a very major one) . It's so frustrating - Kansans voted Kline out as Kansas' Attorney General, and voted in JoCo's District Attorney Paul Morrison, a moderate Democrat. The Republican precinct committee members of JoCo picked Kline, the loser of the AG race, to fill the vacancy of Morrison's DA position over Morrison's old asisstant DA.

So essentially through various political shenanigans these men have switched jobs. gonk

I understand that the Republican precinct committee has this authority because Morrison was affiliated with the Republican party when he first took the office years ago. Talk about technicalities coming back to haunt.

Ah, and for reference, 65% of JoCo voters voted against Kline in the Attorney General race, even though it's generally a pretty Republican county - so for the committee to turn around and pick him for JoCo's DA instead has nothing to do with representing what Johnson Countians want. Pure shenanigans. sad

Bah! Kline doesn't have experience in criminal cases either, and he's not even a resident of JoCo! It was an absurdist appointment. My brain weeps.

Dammit I live in that county!

I hate myself. I am now sad like emo.

I am sooooo glad I live in the UK . . . . . where our government's allowing casinos even though the public don't really want them . . . . . aw, dammit . . . .

At least I haven't heard anything about abortion debates - let alone twisted doctors-come-politicians - in the news here though. I think they're quite happy with the status quo, thank goodness.

Christ on a Crackerjack.

Who's up for researching whether he is actually eligible to be the AG of that district the Rep's just appointed him to?
