Still shivering a bit, but thankfully and finally dry, Elle stood at the window of Lonan's small cottage. The rain had started while they were out, and though it was light it showed no sign of stopping.
Tugging the blanket a bit closer around her shoulders, the young woman smiled and shook her hair out of its bun as she watched the dark trees bend and dance with the rising wind. The fire would dry it, soon enough, and once Lonan was changed they could warm together.
Part of her felt so selfish, being here while the children were home with Aki. She deserved a few days to herself, that wasn't in question, but some memories never truly faded.
Crossing her arms over her chest, Elle toyed with the edges of the blanket...thoughts far away from the cozy cottage. Intangible feathers brushed the edges of her worry, gentle and comforting despite their distance.

"Hello? Lonan? Elle?" A damp head poked in from the sliding door. Smiling a bit Drac hauled in a nice bundle of wood for the small stove in the corner as well as a pack with spare clothes and whatnot from the main house.
"Here you go. Some food for dinner and treats if you want. As well as warmer clothes. I'll head up to Aki's and check on your family for you, ok? Made an extra pie and they're pretty much on a line with Devi's place. No worries." She grinned, shaking out her tail as she set a few things up. Like small braided rugs on the tiled floor to prevent slipping in puddles.
On the bed Lonan moaned softly, a wing twitching as he started to wake from a rather impromptu nap. He'd managed to get his wet pants off and seat himself on a towel on the bed. Somehow he'd blinked a little too long and taken a doze. Usually he was right up, but he was understandably lethargic.

Turning as Drac entered, Elle's face lit with a smile. The more she got to know the woman, the more she enjoyed her company. All of Drac's family had a bit of a 'no nonsense' attitude that Elle appreciated, even if she didn't share it.
"Hello, ...oh! Thank you!" Holding the blanket shut with one hand, Elle fel into helping automatically...laying one of the rugs out, and accepting items as the matron handed them over. "A pie? Levi is going to ask what you made for the others."
At Lonan's soft noise, Elle nodded across the way toward the direction of the tired young man. "We're just getting settled. Do you have time to stay and warm?" It wasn't her place to invite, especially considering who she was inviting, but it was as natural as breathing with people she cared for. A bit of worry tugged at her over Lonan's condition, but she set it gently aside. Worry was pointless, only warmth, love, and good company would help.

"Guess it's a good thing I also made a few other treats. But he'll share if he ever wants another one. Worked well enough on Devi anyway. And don't worry about me. Cold really doesn't affect me, they make granite that likes weather less than me."
She chuckled a bit, setting out the rest of the rugs and placing a bundle of food on the counter. Hearing Lonan's soft moan she wandered over and pressed an ear to his chest. "Cold starting up. Shouldn't be too bad, just don't let him lay ocmpletely flat. It'll be easier for him."
The next items she pulled out were set nearby, sleep pants as well as a few bags of tea that 'tastes like something had died in the bag ages ago, which is how you know it works'. If nothing else you healed up fast just so you dind't have to drink it.
"Mmph. What? Elle? Drac?" He was confused and a bit flushed but not too far gone.
"S'ok, Lonan. Just dropping stuff off before I run to Aki's to help out. You two just enjoy each other." Waving to the two she bowed out the door and settled on the path. A few stops to keep a person busy was always a good thing.
Lonan's hands felt around for the pants and then decided it was probably not worth the effort. Instead he shook out his wings and wrapped them around himself like a cocoon. With the dark bedcovers it almost looked like he was a bust with only the his collarbones and up showing.
"My apologies, Elle. I didn't think I would get hit quite so hard with this."

Nodding to Drac again in thanks, Elle smiled gently. She truly appreciated the woman's efforts, and knew her family as well as Lonan would have an easier time with their care.
Starting more water for the ill flavored tea, Elle turned to watch Drac press her ear to the lad's chest. He was such a presence, even when sleepy and stuffy. Her lips curved into a fond smile as she glanced back to the kettle.
"Travel safe, Drac!" Turning to see her out, Elle shut the door tightly and tugged the blanket shawl back into place...smiling at the rumpled Lonan.
"Apologies? I can't think of a better way to spend a cold evening." Genuine warmth kept the comment from being simply innuendo, and she settled down next to him. "Are you comfortable?"

The woman waved as she left, still holding a huge tote on her back.
Lonan arched an eyebrow but made nothing else of the slight teasing. "I could think it would be better if the world didn't tilt under my feet as soon as I gained them."
He got up breifly to throw few logs on the fire, banking it against the invading chill. It would keep for a couple hours now. He quickly regained his warmed spot on the bed.
When Elle settled next to him one wing uncurled, moving to warp around her and draw her close. Careful to keep his head on her shoulder he sighed softly. "Now I am."

Leaning against him, watching the flames rise, Elle tried to share the warmth and health she carried. "Soon enough, and the sun will be out again, and you'll be feeling as good as ever."
She turned her face to settle a kiss on his cheek, and her hand cradled the opposite side of Lonan's face. Before she knew it, the kiss turned into two, and she nosed gently under his ear.
"If you'd like to settle back in bed, I'd be happy to do what I can..." Even when he was sick, Lonan was always pushing, struggling in a way she could only glimpse. To ease that, even for a moment, was almost all she craved.

A faint cough rattled his chest for a moment, looser than it had been but still uncomfortable for the breif time. "I'll do my best to make sure that when the sun comes back I will be able to venture out again." He was troubled by the fact that his convlescense seemed to be keeping her caged in the small house with him, but her presence was in no way unnappreciated.
White eyes that had only recently begun to show clarity lowered to halfmast, a gently thrumming working it's way through him at Elle's touch. A slight shiver followed at the soft nuzzling below his ear. A deep, languid sort of calm started to fill him.
"If you wish. Just do not let yourself catch what I have." He moved slowly onto his back, careful to keep all limbs comfortable and out of accidental striking range. He had no wish to intorduce Ele to his wing again. At least not in the harsh manner he had before in the slip.
Even when the dark wing loosened a worked hand kept a light touch on the back of Elle's neck, rubbing soft circles with his thumb at the base of her skull.

Elle chuckled, worried about neither being cooped up, nor catching his cold. "As much as I love the outdoors, curled next to a fire is my true weakness. I wouldn't mind being sick together so terribly." Waching his wings settled and relax, Elle leaned into his touch...enjoying the feel of his hand against her neck.
"If it gets any colder, though, we'll both have to get under the blankets!" She guided one of his hands along her arm, under the edge of the shawl to settle on her warm side. It occured to her distantly that she'd certainly changed since she met Lonan, in many ways...less tea for bad dreams, and more sweets to soften her lines. It certainly didn't bother her, but but there was no denying that Elle blossomed even in winter.
In fact, time was passing so quickly, but sometimes it felt as though it never touched them, tucked away here in the trees. Her idle touch must have revealed her thoughts, fingers drawing circles absently across his chest.

"Ah. I should have remembered. Though I wish you only health, you would be indefiantely pampers should you catch anything." A small flicker-smile gave testiment that he would not mind sharing blankets with her in any way.
Lonan's hand settled lightly on her side, rubbing softly up and down from rib to hip and back again. When her fingers started their light tracing his eyes slipped closed and a soft sort of rumble started in his chest.

She watched him fondly, hair spilling her Lonan's shoulder as she cuddled against him quietly. Her fingers continued their pattern, tracing, comforting...occasionally running the length of the fine scars she could feel.
Once he'd settled, she lifted her eyes for a moment to the window, and smiled as the rain slowed. It was rain no longer...instead, gentle flakes of silent snow drifting downwards, the first melting as it touched the window ledge.
The sound of the rain vanished as well, and in the peace Elle silently willed Lonan to look, not trutly wishing to wake him. It was beautiful and delicate, as black and white as the lad settled next to her. She sighed, content, her puff of warm breath stirring his feathers gently.

A warm haze had seemed to setlle over him. Not truely asleep, not truely awake, just sort of drifting in the sense of comfort. No one was able to give him that, save Elle.
"Hmm? What are you looking at, Elle?" The question came softly, barely a brush of breath against her ear. A small shift in her stance, even when so relaxed, told that she was staring at something beyond the small house and a faint sense of longing came from her.
He let his ears keen to the sounds around the small dwelling, hearing the sharp tangs of rain turn into soft pats.

Elle closed her eyes for a moment as he stirred, smile gentle upon her upturned face. "Do you see it?" It wasn't a sarcastic question. "All the little petals of perfect white, drifting like dandelion seeds..." Her hand flattened on his chest, a warm and gentle connection. The temperature had leveled, after the sudden dip...and the fire was doing its job.
Comfortable and calm, Elle opened her eyes again to study the fogging window. A touch of humor brightened her repose. "Tomorrow, I'm going to lay in it and make snow Lonans." With that, she bent to press her lips to his cheek...a peck that stretched into a kiss.

The description of the color, or lack, was vague to him at best, but the way she described the swirling of the tiny flakes, how they moved and fell together let him create a picture in his mind's eye. "Yes, with your words, yes, I can see it."
As the warmth in the room increased so did his sense of ease. If he concentrated he could see the snow in his mind, the connection with Elle helping to give it realism.
"Snow Lonans?" There was a humorous befuddlement in his voice. If one knew how to look.

"You know...like snow angels, but without the skirts." Settling back alongside him, voice sweet and carefree, Elle tossed one arm over Lonan's chest. "Find a spot of pure snow, and..." She slid her arm slowly up his body, fingers stretched for reach, and mimicked the motion on the other side. After tickling up and down the length of his side, Elle gave the motion up...laughing at the simple joy of rustling about with a darling confused Lonan.
"Once you're better, I'll show you." She rolled onto her side, gazing down into his face as her hair curtained in the warmth between them. Slowly, she dropped her head to rub the tip of her nose gently against his, and made a light and promising noise. "I have all sorts of things to show you."
